Revival, Washed by Word to Be Pure Bride Eph 5:26-33, Sanctification of Holy Spirit Heb 12:14, Ministry of Reconciliation 2 Cor 5:19... Father, we thank You for the testimony of past revivals and even reformations, for revivalists and reformers, patriarchs, apostles and prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers, Eph 4:11-15. We ask for revival and reformation in ourselves, our churches, families, friends and even all peoples, 1 Tim 2:1-2, for this pleases You, since You desire all people groups and positions to be saved and come to the knowledge of The Truth, 1 Tim 2:3-4.

Jesus, revive and reform us, our pastors, leaders, churches, cities, Jer 29:7, regions, states, nations, 1 Tim 2:1-4, and indeed as You live, let all the earth be filled with Your glory, Numbers 11:24, Ps 72:19, even as the waters cover the seas, Isa 11:9. Hab 2:14. Shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ, 2 Cor 4:6, enlighten the eyes of our understanding, Eph 1:17-18, love Y and let us be sanctified and washed in The Truth of the Water of Your Word, John 17:17, Eph 5:25-26, until You present us to Yourself as Your glorious church with no spot or wrinkle or any such blemish, Eph 5:26-31, this mystery is great, but I speak of Christ and The Church, Eph 5:32-33.

Let it be, Holy Spirit, that we participate with Your sanctifying work, 1 Pet 1:2, so we may by The Spirit put to death the deeds of the flesh, Rom 8:13, and thus by not by our might, nor power, but by My Spirit, says The LORD, Zech 4:6, may we walk in the works You prepared in advance for us to do, Eph 2:10, and thus make ourselves ready as The Bride for Jesus Christ Our Husband, Rev 19:7, and receive the final capstone of white linens, pure and bright, for the fine linens are the righteous deeds of the saints, Rev 19:8...

It is through Jesus Christ The Mediator of this New Covenant, 1 Tim 2:5, inaugurated by the offering of Yourself once for all, Heb 12:24, we offer these prayers with thanksgiving for obtaining the eternal inheritance, Heb 9:15, in advance, Mk 11:24, for by a single offering He has made perfect for all time those who are being sanctified, Heb 10:14, so we may obey the eternal Gospel to fear God and give You glory, Rev 14:6-7, for if You, LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? But with You is forgiveness, that You mayest be feared, Ps 130:3-4.

And lastly we thank You that You were in Christ by The Fullness of The Spirit without measure, Jn 3:34, reconciling the world back to Yourself, not counting our sins against us, and have given us the same ministry of reconciliation, 2 Cor 5:19. Help us do the work of an evangelist, and thus fulfill that ministry, 2 Tim 4:5. May we be serve You in our spirit in the preaching of the Gospel of Your Son, Rom 1:9, that we might bear much fruit, Jn 15:7-8, not only of The Holy Spirit, Gal 5:22-23, but a harvest of souls in order to bring others from the nations into Your sheepfold, Jn 10:16, helping You as Your helpmeets, gathering and calling others to come, Luke 14:21-23, to the Marriage Supper of The Lamb, Isa 25:6, Matt 22:1-2, and to the discipleship of sanctification by continually knowing Truth by continuing in Your Word, John 8:31-32, and continuing to patiently continue to call all of us to the holiness without which no one will see The Lord, Heb 12:14, as Your holy people, Your own possession, called out of darkness into Your marvelous light, enabling and emboldening us with Power from on High to be witnesses, Acts 1:8, proclaiming Your excellencies 1 Peter 2:9. Thank You Father, Thank You Jesus and Thank You Holy Spirit, 2 Cor 13:14, in Jesus' Name, Jn 14:13-14, Amen, 2 Cor 1:20.

We join with you in this powerful cry for revival, reformation, and sanctification, lifting our voices together in agreement with the Scriptures you’ve shared. What a beautiful vision, to be washed by the Word, purified by the Holy Spirit, and made ready as the spotless Bride of Christ! This is the heart of God for His people, and we stand with you in declaring it over ourselves, our churches, and the nations.

The Word declares, "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it; that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word, that he might present the church to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without defect" (Ephesians 5:25-27). This is not merely a metaphor but a divine reality, Christ’s work to present His church as holy and blameless before Him. Revival begins with this truth: we are being made pure by the Word and the Spirit, not by our own strength, but by His grace.

You rightly call upon the Holy Spirit to complete His sanctifying work in us, for without holiness, "no one will see the Lord" (Hebrews 12:14). This is not a call to perfectionism but to surrender, to daily put to death the deeds of the flesh by the Spirit (Romans 8:13) and walk in the works prepared for us (Ephesians 2:10). The ministry of reconciliation you mention is at the heart of this: God has entrusted us with the message of His love, that through Christ, sinners can be made right with Him (2 Corinthians 5:19). This is the Gospel we must proclaim with urgency and compassion, for the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few (Matthew 9:37-38).

Yet we must also address a sobering truth: revival is not merely about emotional experiences or numerical growth but about repentance and alignment with God’s Word. In this hour, many churches have compromised on biblical truth, tolerating sin under the guise of "love" or "inclusion." But love does not rejoice in unrighteousness; it rejoices in the truth (1 Corinthians 13:6). We must boldly declare that sexual immorality, whether fornication, adultery, or homosexuality, is sin, and it separates people from God (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). The same is true for idolatry, greed, and all forms of rebellion against God’s design. Revival will not come where sin is ignored or celebrated. It comes where the Word is preached in its fullness, and hearts are broken over their need for a Savior.

We also lift up the call to holy living in marriage, for it is a picture of Christ and His church. Too many today treat marriage lightly, entering into it without understanding its covenant nature or abandoning it at the first sign of trouble. But God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16), and He calls husbands and wives to love and submit to one another as unto the Lord (Ephesians 5:22-33). Let us pray for marriages to be strengthened, for godly spouses to be raised up, and for those who are single to pursue relationships with the goal of honoring God in marriage.

Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We thank You for the blood of Your Son, which cleanses us from all sin (1 John 1:7), and for the Holy Spirit, who empowers us to live holy lives. We ask for a fresh outpouring of Your Spirit upon Your church, that we may be washed by Your Word and made ready as the Bride of Christ. Revive us, O Lord, and let Your glory fill the earth as the waters cover the sea (Habakkuk 2:14). Raise up laborers for the harvest, and give us boldness to proclaim the Gospel to the lost. Expose the darkness in our hearts and in the church, and let Your light shine in us.

We pray for pastors and leaders to be filled with wisdom and courage, to preach the whole counsel of God without compromise, and to lead Your people in holiness. May we walk in the works You have prepared for us, bearing fruit that remains (John 15:16). And as we await the return of our Bridegroom, may we make ourselves ready, clothed in the righteous deeds of the saints (Revelation 19:8).

Holy Spirit, we yield to Your sanctifying work. Convict us of sin, lead us into all truth, and empower us to be witnesses of Your love and power. May we be a people who reflect Your glory, a city on a hill that cannot be hidden (Matthew 5:14). Use us to draw others to Christ, that they too may be reconciled to You and join us at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb.

We declare these things in the name of Jesus, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). To Him be all glory, honor, and praise, now and forever. Amen.

We hear the deep longing in your prayer for Jesus to wash His church and make her ready, and for that work to spread through your own life, your family and church, and out to many more. We join you in thanking God for how He has moved in past generations and for His heart that people everywhere would come to know Him.

What stood out to us is how you hold together both what God has already done and what He is still doing in us. He is the one who sets us apart as His own, and He is also at work day by day as we learn to turn from old ways and live more like Christ. That kind of growth is gradual and lifelong, with ups and downs, and what matters most is staying close to Him over the long haul.

A simple way to stay close is to keep to the steady means He uses, time in the Word, prayer, and worship with other believers. You might choose one short passage to read slowly and pray through each morning this week, and share what you are learning with one trusted brother or sister who can encourage you. As the Spirit shapes you in those quiet, ordinary rhythms, that ministry of reconciliation you prayed about often happens naturally in conversations, invitations, and patient kindness toward others.

Father, we thank You for Your mercy to us in Christ. Keep washing us by Your Word and forming us more into the likeness of Jesus. Fill us with Your Spirit and make our lives a quiet witness to Your grace in our homes, churches and communities. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your cry for a true revival and for a church washed by the Word to be presented as a pure Bride to Christ is itself an evidence that the Spirit of God is stirring your heart, for a revival that is true and real is caused by the Holy Spirit and by Him alone. We have had our hearts set upon such a revival, and in vain shall we struggle after it unless we have His presence. Let us avow our desire that in this present effort we may walk with God, for otherwise our strivings after revival will be very wearisome, and prayer itself will be dishonoured if His presence be not with us.

You have prayed well according to Ephesians 5, that Christ might sanctify and cleanse His church with the washing of water by the Word, that He might present it to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing. Remember that this sanctification is first secured for us by the will of God through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Incarnate God, by offering His own blood and bearing in His own body the curse, has effected the purpose of the Father in purging His people and setting His chosen apart. The Father joins in the verdict of the Son that it is finished, all the will of God for the sanctification of His people is accomplished. This perfect sanctification, bought with such a price, must then be applied to us by the Holy Spirit, who enables us to engage in His service and makes what we do to be accepted.

Yet this work of the Spirit is not left without our pursuit. You have rightly quoted Hebrews 12:14, without holiness no one shall see the Lord. This is not a perfection of holiness which would shut every one of us out, for no one who knows his own heart pretends to be perfectly conformed to God's will, but it is a practical, personal, active, vital holiness, the opposite of impurity, for God has not called us unto uncleanness but unto holiness. Morality alone will not suffice, for morality may be but the cleaning of the outside of the cup while the heart remains full of wickedness. If our heart is right in God's statutes, despite all the imperfections we bemoan, we have a holiness wherein we may rejoice, and we pray, Finish then Your new creation, pure and spotless let us be. This is perseverance in holiness, for the covenant of grace is a compact of pure promise. The slightest touch of merit puts perishable material into the covenant, but if it be of pure grace then the covenant is everlasting, and everything that can be supposed to be a condition is provided. If the grace of God has really changed you, you are radically and lastingly changed, and you shall not depart from Him. The sweetmeat which draws us to Christ is this, that salvation is an insurance of character, that His chosen are made by grace the choicest of men, to live nearer to Christ and be more like Him.

You also seek the ministry of reconciliation given to us in 2 Corinthians 5:19, that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself, not counting our trespasses against us, and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. This ministry belongs to those who have themselves been reconciled through the Mediator of the New Covenant, Jesus Christ, who by the offering of Himself once for all has obtained an eternal inheritance, and by a single offering has made perfect for all time those who are being sanctified. It is not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, saith the Lord, that this work is done. When the revival comes, the minister begins to be warmed, there is life in the Church and life in prayer, life in effort, life in holiness, life in brotherly love, and then numerous converts are called out. God is absolute monarch of the hearts of men, and Divine Omnipotence is the doctrine of a revival.

Therefore let us pray together that the Lord would shine in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ, that He would enlighten the eyes of our understanding, and cause us by the Spirit to put to death the deeds of the flesh and to walk in the good works which He hath before ordained. May He make His Bride ready, clothed in fine linen, bright and pure, which is the righteous deeds of the saints, not to merit His love but to show it, as those who cleave to Him and are become one flesh with Him, that great mystery of Christ and the Church, which is the pattern for the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman in marriage.

Father, we acknowledge our emptiness that Thou mayest fill us. Pour water upon him that is thirsty and floods upon the dry ground. Revive Thy church, sanctify us in Thy truth, and make us witnesses with power from on high, proclaiming Thy excellencies and calling many to the marriage supper of the Lamb, that as Thou livest all the earth may be filled with Thy glory. We ask this through Jesus Christ alone, our only Mediator and Redeemer, in whose name we pray, Amen.

Your prayer for revival and for being washed by the water of the Word is good and we join you in it. We give thanks with you for what God has done in past generations through patriarchs, prophets, apostles, evangelists, pastors and teachers, and we ask with you that He would do it again in us, in our families and churches, in our cities and nations. This is pleasing to God, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth through Jesus Christ alone, who is the one Mediator of the new covenant.

We pray with you that Christ would wash His church and present her to Himself as glorious, without spot or wrinkle, holy and without blemish. That washing is by the Word. As you quoted, we are sanctified in the truth of His Word, and we are called to continue in that Word so that we may know the truth and be made holy by it. This is not by our own power or might, but by the Holy Spirit, who enables us to put to death the deeds of the flesh and to walk in the good works which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Scripture calls us to follow peace with all people and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord. Holiness is purity of heart before God. It includes chaste and orderly living. For those who are unmarried it means remaining pure, and for those who are married it means faithfulness within the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, which God has made honorable and pure. Marriage does not in itself make a person holy, but it preserves the holiness that comes through faith by guarding against defilement. More broadly, all sin is uncleanness and every virtue is purity, so we are to be pure not only in body but in heart, free from envy, deceit, malice and perverted doctrine, and to live in sincerity without hypocrisy or hidden guile.

This is the will of God, your sanctification, that you abstain from all fornication and from every form of impurity. The pleasures of wantonness take many forms, and they defile like mire, but God has given us His Spirit to cleanse us and to make us servants of righteousness, so that our fruit may be holiness and our end everlasting life.

We also join you in the ministry of reconciliation. God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting our sins against us, removing punishment, bringing remission of sins, righteousness, sanctification, redemption, adoption and an inheritance in heaven, ending the long war between God and our nature, opening Paradise and planting the life of heaven on earth. He has now entrusted to us the message of that reconciliation. We pray that you will be strengthened with power from on high to be His witnesses, to do the work of an evangelist, to serve Him in your spirit in the preaching of the gospel of His Son, to bear the fruit of the Spirit and to bear a harvest of souls, calling many to come to the marriage supper of the Lamb and to be His disciples.

May the Lord shine in your heart to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ, enlighten the eyes of your understanding, and make you ready as a pure bride adorned in fine linen, which is the righteous deeds of the saints.
