Revival, Washed by Word to Be Pure Bride Eph 5:26-33, Sanctification of Holy Spirit Heb 12:14, Ministry of Reconciliation 2 Cor 5:19... Father, we thank You for the testimony of past revivals and even reformations, for revivalists and reformers, patriarchs, apostles and prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers, Eph 4:11-15. We ask for revival and reformation in ourselves, our churches, families, friends and even all peoples, 1 Tim 2:1-2, for this pleases You, since You desire all people groups and positions to be saved and come to the knowledge of The Truth, 1 Tim 2:3-4.

Jesus, revive and reform us, our pastors, leaders, churches, cities, Jer 29:7, regions, states, nations, 1 Tim 2:1-4, and indeed as You live, let all the earth be filled with Your glory, Numbers 11:24, Ps 72:19, even as the waters cover the seas, Isa 11:9. Hab 2:14. Shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ, 2 Cor 4:6, enlighten the eyes of our understanding, Eph 1:17-18, love Y and let us be sanctified and washed in The Truth of the Water of Your Word, John 17:17, Eph 5:25-26, until You present us to Yourself as Your glorious church with no spot or wrinkle or any such blemish, Eph 5:26-31, this mystery is great, but I speak of Christ and The Church, Eph 5:32-33.

Let it be, Holy Spirit, that we participate with Your sanctifying work, 1 Pet 1:2, so we may by The Spirit put to death the deeds of the flesh, Rom 8:13, and thus by not by our might, nor power, but by My Spirit, says The LORD, Zech 4:6, may we walk in the works You prepared in advance for us to do, Eph 2:10, and thus make ourselves ready as The Bride for Jesus Christ Our Husband, Rev 19:7, and receive the final capstone of white linens, pure and bright, for the fine linens are the righteous deeds of the saints, Rev 19:8...

It is through Jesus Christ The Mediator of this New Covenant, 1 Tim 2:5, inaugurated by the offering of Yourself once for all, Heb 12:24, we offer these prayers with thanksgiving for obtaining the eternal inheritance, Heb 9:15, in advance, Mk 11:24, for by a single offering He has made perfect for all time those who are being sanctified, Heb 10:14, so we may obey the eternal Gospel to fear God and give You glory, Rev 14:6-7, for if You, LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? But with You is forgiveness, that You mayest be feared, Ps 130:3-4.

And lastly we thank You that You were in Christ by The Fullness of The Spirit without measure, Jn 3:34, reconciling the world back to Yourself, not counting our sins against us, and have given us the same ministry of reconciliation, 2 Cor 5:19. Help us do the work of an evangelist, and thus fulfill that ministry, 2 Tim 4:5. May we be serve You in our spirit in the preaching of the Gospel of Your Son, Rom 1:9, that we might bear much fruit, Jn 15:7-8, not only of The Holy Spirit, Gal 5:22-23, but a harvest of souls in order to bring others from the nations into Your sheepfold, Jn 10:16, helping You as Your helpmeets, gathering and calling others to come, Luke 14:21-23, to the Marriage Supper of The Lamb, Isa 25:6, Matt 22:1-2, and to the discipleship of sanctification by continually knowing Truth by continuing in Your Word, John 8:31-32, and continuing to patiently continue to call all of us to the holiness without which no one will see The Lord, Heb 12:14, as Your holy people, Your own possession, called out of darkness into Your marvelous light, enabling and emboldening us with Power from on High to be witnesses, Acts 1:8, proclaiming Your excellencies 1 Peter 2:9. We come before the throne of grace with hearts ablaze for revival, for the washing of the Word, and for the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit. Your prayer resonates deeply with our own cries for the Bride of Christ to be made pure, spotless, and ready for her Bridegroom. We stand with you in agreement, lifting up this sacred plea for reformation in ourselves, our churches, and the nations.

The Scriptures you’ve referenced paint a glorious picture of what God desires for His people. Ephesians 5:26-27 declares, "that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, that he might present the assembly to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she should be holy and without defect." This is not merely a future hope but a present work, one that requires our active participation through obedience to the Word and surrender to the Holy Spirit. Hebrews 12:14 reminds us, "Pursue peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord." Without holiness, there can be no true revival, for revival is not about emotional experiences but about hearts fully yielded to God’s refining fire.

We also rejoice in the ministry of reconciliation, as 2 Corinthians 5:19 proclaims, "God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and he has committed the word of reconciliation to us." This is the heartbeat of revival, not only for ourselves but for the lost. The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few (Matthew 9:37-38). We must be those who go forth in the power of the Spirit, proclaiming the Gospel with boldness and love, that souls may be saved and added to the Kingdom.

Yet, as we pray for revival, we must also examine our own hearts. Are we walking in the light as He is in the light (1 John 1:7)? Are we putting to death the deeds of the flesh by the Spirit (Romans 8:13)? Are we guarding our hearts against the subtle deceptions of the world, which seek to dilute the Gospel and lead us astray? Revival begins with repentance, individually and corporately. We must be willing to let the Word expose our sins, that we may be cleansed and restored.

Let us also remember that revival is not an end in itself but a means to an end: the glory of God filling the earth. Habakkuk 2:14 declares, "For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the LORD’s glory, as the waters cover the sea." This is the ultimate purpose of all things, to see God’s glory revealed in every nation, tribe, and tongue. And it is through the Church, the Bride of Christ, that this glory is displayed. We must be a people who reflect His holiness, His love, and His truth.

We pray now, in the authority of Jesus’ name, for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the Church. May the fire of God fall upon us, consuming all that is not of Him and igniting a passion for His presence. May the Word of God be like a two-edged sword, piercing our hearts and bringing conviction, repentance, and transformation (Hebrews 4:12). May we be a people who walk in the fear of the Lord, hating sin and clinging to righteousness (Proverbs 8:13). And may the ministry of reconciliation flow through us, that many would come to know Christ and be reconciled to God.

Father, we thank You for the blood of Jesus, which cleanses us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). We thank You for the Holy Spirit, who empowers us to live holy lives and bear witness to Your truth. We thank You for the Word, which is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105). Revive us, O Lord, according to Your Word. Reform us into the image of Your Son. Let Your glory fill the earth, and let Your Bride be made ready for the day of Christ’s return.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). For there is no other foundation, no other mediator, and no other way to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). May Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, and may Your Kingdom come in power and glory. Amen.

What a beautiful longing you've poured out before the Father here. We find ourselves encouraged just reading it, not because of the eloquence, but because this kind of prayer comes from a heart that genuinely yearns for what God Himself desires. That's a powerful place to be.

When someone prays like this, not just for personal needs but for the Church to be made ready, for the nations to be filled with His glory, for ordinary believers to walk in the ministry of reconciliation, we recognize the Spirit's own groaning. You are asking for what He has already promised to do, and there is a quiet confidence that comes with that. He who began this good work will be faithful to complete it.

We want to simply stand with you in that hope. The picture of Christ washing His Bride with the water of the Word and presenting her without spot or wrinkle is not just poetry, it is His unwavering commitment. Every time we turn from sin, every time we let the truth reshape how we think, every time we point someone else toward Him, that future is taking clearer shape in the present. You are participating in something that stretches from a garden tomb to a wedding feast still to come. That is no small thing.

So we give thanks with you tonight for the forgiveness that makes us stand, for the Spirit who empowers us to put sin to death, and for the staggering privilege of calling others to the table. May the oil of gladness strengthen you for the ordinary, daily acts of love and witness that will ripple outward in ways you may not see until that Day. Keep asking, keep hoping, the Bridegroom is faithful.

Jesus, thank You for the heart behind this prayer. Kindle this longing into a steady flame. Continue Your sanctifying work in every believer who cries out for revival, and let the earth indeed be filled with Your glory, through us and in spite of us. We trust You for the harvest and for the purity of Your Bride. Amen.

The weight of such a prayer is no light thing. You have asked for that which lies at the very heart of all covenant promise, and you have brought a multitude of Scriptures as fuel to the fire of your supplication. This is not the idle talk of those who take God’s Word as a plaything to amuse their minds; this is the burden of the Lord. He who truly prays for revival and reformation, for the washing of water by the Word, and for the sanctification of a pure Bride, has felt the assay-master’s touch. The Word of the Lord is trying you now, even as it tried Joseph, whose feet were hurt with fetters until the time that his word came. Your cry for holiness and the ministry of reconciliation proves that the Spirit is not allowing you to be at ease in Zion.

Consider the objective of this prayer. You ask for a holy Church, without spot or wrinkle, and you call upon the Lord to employ you in the gathering of souls. This is the very mission for which Christ was sent into the world, and as the Father sent Him, so sends He you. Do not imagine this errand belongs to a Brahmin caste alone; if you are a saint, you are sent. The world will not preach the Gospel to itself, nor will the skeptical critics unite to spread the kingdom. If Christ’s own redeemed do not go forth on this holy errand, nothing will be done. The ministry of reconciliation is committed to us. The reconciling work on God’s part is already finished by the death of His Son, He was in Christ, not imputing trespasses, but the word of that reconciliation is placed in our trembling hands. We are to beseech men, as though God did beseech them by us, to be reconciled to God.

You speak of being washed by the Word. See to it that you live upon that Word even as your Master did. He, the Incarnate Word, breathed the atmosphere of the Inspired Word, and on the cross He died with the language of the Psalmist upon His lips. If any spirit whispers that you may dispense with the Book and live by inward light alone, that spirit is a lying spirit. The Spirit who sanctifies is the Spirit who inspired, and He makes us tremble at His Word. This trembling is no servile fear; it is the evidence that we have looked into the divine portrait gallery and seen ourselves accurately drawn. It is the Lord’s own estimate of a man: “To this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.” This is the soil in which revival grows.

You have laid hold of a great truth: sanctification is not by might, nor by power, but by the Spirit of the Lord. Yet the Spirit works through the Word of truth. As the God of peace brings again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, so He perfects us in every good work to do His will, working in us that which is well-pleasing in His sight. This is the law of the house: Holiness unto the Lord. Where a church lacks holiness, there will come a slow poisoning of lethargy, a falling away of prayer, and at last a vacating of the pews while the world points the finger. But mount the white horse of holiness, and Christ leads the conquering host. The fine linen, clean and white, which is the righteousness of saints, is woven in the loom of daily obedience and is made bright by the blood of the Lamb and the fire of the Spirit.

Let your prayer for the ministry of reconciliation be answered in your own soul first. You cannot carry the burden of a lost world while your own steps are light and trifling. Christ overcame the world in His life, untarnished by the age, pure truth without mixture, and He overcame it by His death, striking at the very root of selfishness. He has given us the Holy Spirit, which is the world’s practical conquest. So, go forth into your sphere, for the Head of the body has power over all flesh, and He gives to each member a portion of that power over some part of “all flesh.” Use that power for the giving of eternal life to as many as the Father has given Him. Finish your course bearing the burden of the Lord, and look for that final capstone when the Savior shall change your vile body and fashion it like unto His glorious body. Until then, pray without ceasing, but let the flower of your prayer be praise, for the harvest of all this plowing and sowing is the glory of God. Amen.

Your prayer rises like incense, laden with Scripture, and I perceive in it a soul panting for the glory of God to cover the earth and for the Church to be made a pure bride. You have rightly called upon the washing of water by the Word, the sanctification of the Spirit, and the ministry of reconciliation. But I must ask you: do you truly seek the holiness without which no one will see the Lord? For it is not a light thing to pray for revival while the heart entertains any uncleanness. The pure in heart see God, and purity is not only of the spirit but of the body. When the Apostle charges, "Follow peace with all men, and holiness," he means chaste and orderly living. If any is unmarried, let him remain pure; if married, let him possess his own vessel in honor, not in the passion of lust. Fornication, in all its secret and shameless forms, is an evil that defiles the whole man and quenches the Holy Spirit. Many pray for power from on high, yet neglect the command: "Keep thyself pure."

You speak of the Bride making herself ready, and indeed her fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints. But what are these deeds? Not merely public ministries, but the hidden warfare of a conscience without guile. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and if you do not by the Spirit put to death the deeds of the body, your prayer for revival is a sounding brass. I urge you, then, to examine not just your words but the inner chamber of your heart, for out of it proceed evil thoughts. Sanctification is not a momentary experience but a continual cleansing, and this is the will of God, even your sanctification.

Consider the good tidings we have received: God on earth, man in heaven, death destroyed, Paradise opened. This came to us not by our merit but by His mercy. Yet the same mercy that blots out the curse calls us to walk in newness of life. The fruit of the former life was shame, even after being set free; but the fruit of holiness is confidence and life everlasting. Do not, then, take the grace of reconciliation lightly, as if you could serve both sin and the Savior. He gave Himself to purify a people for His own possession. If you long to be a helpmeet in gathering guests for the Marriage Supper, see to it that your own garment is without spot. For a pure conscience is not only comfort in affliction but the very crown of our boasting in Christ.

I do not speak to quench your zeal, but to fan it into a purer flame. Let your prayer for the nations begin in your own body, the temple of the Holy Spirit. Flee youthful lusts; honor marriage; live in temperance; and then with boldness undertake the ministry of reconciliation, proclaiming the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. God desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth, and that truth sanctifies, making us holy even as He is holy. May your life be the amen to your prayer, so that when the Bridegroom comes, you may be found not just speaking of the Bride, but being part of her, clothed in the righteous deeds that spring from a heart made pure by faith.

Your prayer rises like incense, saturated with Scripture. That is no accident. The Spirit who inspired those words is stirring in you a deep longing for the church to be washed, sanctified, and presented as a pure bride to her Husband. Hold onto that, but realize the very Word you pray is the water He uses for the washing. Christ gave Himself for the church “that he might sanctify and cleanse it by the washing of the water of the word.” So every time you open the Scriptures, you are stepping into the cleansing stream that makes the bride ready. Young poeple often ask how they can keep their way pure. The everlasting answer is simple: by taking heed according to God’s word. When the enemy came against Jesus in the wilderness, He did not answer with an impression, a feeling, or a new revelation; He met every temptation with “It is written.” The pure bride is a word-saturated bride.

Your plea for revival and reformation must be built on this foundation. Too many crave a fresh move of God while neglecting the ancient, unchanging words He already breathed. Experiences can dazzle, but they cannot be the basis for what you believe or how you live. Doctrine and direction rise or fall on the solid ground of Scripture. When a man hears the word and acknowledges the ideal but walks away unchanged, he slips into a dangerous delusion. The Lord desires doers, not hearers only. The bride does not make herself lovely by frantic effort or by measuring her worth through hours of prayer, acts of service, or funds given, as if righteousness were a tally. Righteousness comes through Christ alone. Her beauty, which the King desires, is His own work in her.

What then does it look like to participate with the sanctifying work of the Spirit? It means letting the sharp two-edged sword of the word cut deep, exposing what is in the heart. Then, by the Spirit, you put to death the deeds of the flesh. The fine linen of the bride is the righteous deeds of the saints, not self-wrought threads but a garment woven by the hand of Another. The servant Eliezer, sent to win a bride for Isaac, carried gifts for Rebekah: bracelets and jewelry that adorned her before she ever met the bridegroom. So the Holy Spirit adorns you with gifts and graces, drawing you to Christ. He never draws attention to himself; his mission is to present you to the Son.

So keep soaking in the word. Let it order your steps. When you don’t know what to do, run to it. Daniel understood by the writings of Jeremiah that the captivity would last seventy years, and he guided his affairs by that word, not by political whim or hopeful speculation. You hold a lamp shining in a dark place until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. The world has no such light, and the church has no need of a lesser sun. Obedience to what is written is the key. Those who do His commandments have the right to the tree of life.

You asked for the ministry of reconciliation to flow through you. That ministry is simply sharing the word He places in your mouth. You do not need to be eloquent or clever. When Jeremiah quaked at the task, God touched his mouth and said, “Behold, I have put my words in your mouth.” That is all. Speak what He has spoken, and He will watch over it to perform it. He is not looking for perfection in delivery; He is looking for a vessel willing to carry the seed.

As you go, remember that the final word of the bride in the Song is, “Make haste, my beloved, to come.” Every prayer for revival, every longing for purity, every act of witness is a quiet echo of that urgent cry. You are not trying to manufacture a bride; the Bridegroom is returning for one He is already purifying by His word. Keep confessing your dependence. Ask the Lord to search your heart, try your thoughts, and lead you in the way everlasting. And as you do, look up. The light of His face is better than any revival history alone could bring.
