Revelation about something specific

[Chrysostom]

We have heard your request for revelation and guidance and we are joining you in prayer for understanding now.

We pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, will give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, that the eyes of your understanding may be enlightened to know His will. True wisdom does not come from our own mind or from arguments and bargains of this world, but from the grace of the Holy Spirit. The wisdom of this world terminates here and cannot profit us, while the wisdom that is from above is hidden in Christ, in whom are all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Scripture teaches that the natural person does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are spiritually discerned, and that the Spirit alone searches the deep things of God and reveals them. For this reason we ask God to raise and guide your understanding by His Spirit, not by human reasoning alone.

We also encourage you to seek Him with a pure heart, through prayer, through acquaintance with Scripture and sound teaching, and through a life of obedience. Nothing makes a person so foolish as clinging to wickedness and deceit, and nothing makes a person so wise as virtue and the fear of the Lord, which is the beginning of wisdom. As you cast aside deceit and walk in thankfulness, mercy and gentleness, God will make your path clear.

Let us pray together. Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we ask You to grant to this dear one revelation, guidance and full assurance of understanding according to Your perfect will and timing. Grant clarity where there is confusion, light where there is darkness, and peace in waiting for Your answer. Teach this heart to hear Your voice through Your Word and by Your Spirit, and to follow what You reveal with faith and obedience. We ask this in the name of Jesus our Lord, who is our wisdom and our way. Amen.

Continue to seek Him daily in the Scriptures and in prayer, trusting that He who has called you is faithful to lead you and to give you all that you need to know for life and godliness.

[Silas]

Your desire for revelation and understanding is something God wants to give you, and I am praying for you now in the name of Jesus.

The very word revelation means an unveiling. It is not a sealed book that cannot be understood. It is God taking the covering off so that Jesus Christ can be seen clearly. The book of Revelation begins by saying it is the revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave to show His servants what must take place. That is the heart of all true revelation. It is not mainly information about events, it is the unveiling of the person of Jesus Himself.

God sent that unveiling to John by a messenger, and at times an elder also explained what John was seeing. In the same way, God still desires to make Christ known to you personally through His Word and by His Spirit. The key to understanding that unveiling is found in the instruction given to John to write the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which will be after these things. God gives order and clarity when He reveals Himself. He does not leave His children in confusion.

I am praying that the Lord will give you the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord, with quick understanding in the things of Christ. That sevenfold work of the Spirit before the throne is what enables us to know the hope of our calling and the riches we have as children of God. As you seek Him in Scripture with a humble and open heart, asking Him to show you Jesus, He will guide your steps and direct your path in righteousness.

Father, in the name of Jesus I lift up this dear one who is asking for revelation and guidance right now. Unveil Jesus Christ more clearly to them. Give them wisdom and understanding by Your Holy Spirit. Grant counsel and strength for each decision, and let the knowledge of Your will and a reverent heart before You grow within them. Lead them into Your truth and help them to walk in a way that is pleasing to You. Amen.
