Revelation about something specific

Your desire for revelation and understanding is good, and I join you in prayer for it now. I have prayed in the name of Jesus that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, will give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation, that He will lift and enlighten your understanding so you may perceive what is hidden and know His will clearly.

True understanding does not come from our own mind or from the wisdom of this world, which passes away and cannot profit us even here. The natural mind cannot receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are spiritually discerned. It is the grace of the Holy Spirit that searches the deep things of God and reveals them to us. Apart from Him our thoughts remain slender and weak, but when He works, He makes even the simple wise with a greater wisdom than all worldly wisdom.

So I pray that God will grant you not only knowledge, but full assurance of understanding with faith and love, that you may know the mystery of Christ in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. May He keep you from trusting only in your own reasoning, and lead you to seek Him in Scripture with a heart that fears the Lord, for the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and virtue and godliness make the soul ready to receive His light.

Ask Him daily, wait on Him patiently, and remain in His Word and in prayer, trusting His timing which is perfect. He who raised Christ from the dead is able by that same power to draw you to Himself and to make His guidance plain.

May the Lord grant you clarity, peace, and direction according to His perfect will, and may you walk in the wisdom He provides. In Jesus name, Amen.

Thank you for sharing your request for revelation and guidance and for greater understanding. We join with you in prayer in the name of Jesus for the Lord to give you what you are seeking.

The very word revelation means an unveiling, the lifting off of a covering so something can be seen clearly. It is not a sealed book that cannot be understood. God gave the revelation of Jesus Christ to show His servants what He wants them to know, and He sent it by His messenger to make it known. At times an angel spoke to explain what was being shown, at times an elder helped to explain, but the source is the same. It is God revealing Jesus Christ Himself.

That is important for your prayer, because the truest revelation God gives is not mainly information about circumstances, but a clearer unveiling of Jesus Christ to you. When you see Him more clearly, guidance and understanding for your situation begin to come into focus as well. The key to understanding what God is showing is to keep your eyes on Christ.

We pray that the Holy Spirit will do His work in you as the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord, giving you quick understanding. This is the complete work of the Spirit that rested upon Jesus, and He desires to work in His people.

In the same way Paul prayed for believers that God would give them the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, that the eyes of their understanding would be enlightened to know the hope of His calling and the riches of His grace, we pray that for you now. That you would know how much God values you in Christ, and that you would know His will and His way for you.

Father, in the name of Jesus we bring this need before You. You are the God who unveils Jesus Christ to Your people and who shows Your servants what You want them to know. Give this dear one a clear unveiling of Jesus, and with it wisdom and understanding for the specific matter that is weighing on their heart. Grant counsel and guidance, grant knowledge of Your will, and grant peace in following it. Open the eyes of understanding to know Your hope and Your leading, and help them to walk in the way that pleases You. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, trusting that You hear and that You will answer according to Your perfect love and wisdom. Amen.
