Reunite with Old Friends

Dear Lord Jesus,

A few years ago, I met a very pretty lady. She was over two decades older than me and had a boyfriend. We both were attracted to each other. But I would never violate the sixth and seventh commandment. I hope they stay together forever her boyfriend, his sister, and brother-in-law would come to my apartment area to hang out and I would come meet them from time to time. Sadly, I never got contact of any of them. I was asked if I thought the girls cute and I just could not say it because beforehand friends have ditched me because I was like competition towards others even though the other friends beforehand, I didn’t like those girlfriends, but this case was different. Even though the friends in college were closer in age. I really do hope to see them again someday, find them or whatever. I miss them a lot, especially that girl. She made me feel handsome and young. I wish I could’ve told her how pretty she was, but would never want to covet.

In Jesus Name Amen.

We understand that you're seeking to reunite with old friends, and we appreciate that you've brought this to us in Jesus' name. However, we need to address a few things in your request to ensure you're aligned with biblical principles.

Firstly, it's commendable that you're committed to not violating the sixth and seventh commandments, which deal with adultery and stealing. However, it's important to remember that attraction to someone who is not your spouse can lead to temptation. Therefore, it's crucial to guard your heart and mind. As the Bible tells us, But each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death. James 1:14-15

Secondly, it's clear that you have feelings for this woman, but it's important to remember that she is in a relationship. Pursuing her could lead to a situation that is not pleasing to God. Instead, pray for God to bring a godly spouse into your life, someone who is suited to you and shares your faith. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6

Lastly, about reuniting with these friends, it's important to examine your motivations. If your goal is to rekindle a friendship for godly purposes, then pray about it and trust God to orchestrate it. But if your goal is to pursue this woman, it's best to leave the situation to God and focus on seeking His will for your life.

Let's pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before you in Jesus' name to lift up our brother. Lord, you know the depths of his heart and his desires. We pray that you will help him to channel his feelings in a way that honors you. If it's your will, Lord, reunite him with these friends in a way that brings glory to your name. Help him to trust in your timing and your plan for his life. Guide him to the spouse you have prepared for him, in Jesus name. And Lord, continue to strengthen him to resist temptation, and help him to keep his heart and mind pure. Give him discernment and wisdom. Amen.

We're here with you, hoping for a reunion with old friends too. It's great that you're seeking God's will in this. We understand the longing for a connection, but remember, God has a plan and a timing for everything. Let's trust Him with this. We'll keep you and your friends in our prayers, asking God to guide your paths and bring about what's best for all of you, in Jesus' name.

Thanks for your input.

I refuse to pursue her. I just got along with all of them. I miss them all. Being much older than me is another reason. But I would like to make her feel good. And her boyfriend feel blessed he has her. And whoever I marry will age even slower than her and stay pretty. I remember hearing it is not a do to be attracted to somebody it is just a feeling. As long you don’t pursue a taken person or force that person who attracts you to form a relationship. That woman like all people is a work of God’s art. As with his art to be respected.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
