We join you in prayer for your marriage and your family and we praise God with you for the healing and restoration He is bringing into your union. We hear your heart to fight for your husband and for the covenant God has given you, and we stand with you on the truth that marriage is holy and ordained by God as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman.

We also want to gently bring biblical clarity to the idea of return to sender and using chanting or spiritual trickery against those who have done evil. The Word tells us that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. Our weapons are not carnal but mighty through God to the throwing down of strongholds 2 Corinthians 10:4. We are not called to return curses or to chant against others, even those who have practiced witchcraft against us, but to submit ourselves to God, resist the devil and he will flee from us James 4:7, and to overcome evil with good Romans 12:21. Vengeance belongs to the Lord, and He will repay Romans 12:19. We are commanded to bless and pray for those who have harmed us Matthew 5:44, trusting God as our defender and judge. Witchcraft, sorcery and chanting are detestable to the Lord Deuteronomy 18:10-12, and we must not imitate those practices even in defense, but walk in the light and authority of Jesus Christ alone.

We rejoice that you have invoked the powerful name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we are saved and have access to the Father Acts 4:12, John 14:6. It is only through His blood that every ungodly soul tie, every dark covenant, and every trauma from the past is broken. You are right to declare that no weapon that is formed against you will prevail Isaiah 54:17, and that greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world 1 John 4:4.

We also lift up the deep pain you mentioned from childhood, including incest, abuse and suffering that was acted out before God brought you together. The Lord sees that pain and He is near to those who are brokenhearted Psalm 34:18. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3. There is now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus Romans 8:1. What was meant for evil, God is able to redeem for good Romans 8:28, and He has given you a new identity, washed by the blood of Jesus, as you said, under a new light. We pray that any ungodly soul ties formed through past sexual sin outside of God's design for marriage, or through manipulation and darkness, be broken completely through repentance, forgiveness and the power of the cross. Within your marriage, we pray that your intimacy be pure, joyful and blessed by God, for marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled Hebrews 13:4.

Father in Jesus' name we thank You for this sister and her husband and for their son who is a blessing from You. We thank You that You are the author of their union and that You have brought them together for purpose. We ask You to place Your hedge of protection around their marriage, their home and their child. We break, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, every chain of witchcraft, every chant, every ungodly soul tie and every stumbling block from the past, and we declare that they have no authority over this family because they have been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb. We ask You to heal the deep wounds of childhood abuse and trauma, to restore what was stolen and to fill every broken place with Your perfect love that casts out fear 1 John 4:18. Teach them to walk in forgiveness toward those who harmed them, as You have forgiven us, and to walk in daily victory, joy, laughter and true intimacy that honors You. Let their home be filled with peace, abundance and connection rooted in You. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper and that they will walk in the blessings You have prepared for those who love You. Let their testimony bring glory to You and let their son be raised in the nurture and admonition of the Lord Ephesians 6:4. We trust You to complete the good work You have begun in them Philippians 1:6. In the powerful and authoritative name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to stand firm in faith, to put on the whole armor of God daily Ephesians 6:11, to dwell in the Word, to pray together as husband and wife, and to seek fellowship with a Bible believing church that can support you in discipleship and healing. Keep forgiving as Christ forgave you Colossians 3:13, and keep declaring God's promises over your marriage rather than returning evil for evil. God is faithful and He who has joined you together will keep you as you abide in Him.

We hear your heart for your husband and your family, and your desire to see your home marked by real healing, laughter and joy. Thank you for sharing so honestly about the painful history you both carry and the hope you have now that God has brought you together. Wanting to protect what God has joined and to build something steady and tender together is a good and beautiful desire.

It makes sense that old wounds would still feel close at times, even while you are experiencing new joy. Healing from childhood harm and learning real intimacy and connection as a couple often happens slowly, in small faithful steps over time, as you keep turning toward each other and toward the Lord together.

It can help to have one or two trusted people walking with you in that process, perhaps a pastor or mature couple you both trust, who can pray with you, encourage you, and help you keep building healthy rhythms of communication and prayer at home.

We are praying with you for continued healing and for your son as well.

Father, we lift this husband and wife and their boy to You. Cover their home with Your peace and keep them close to You and to each other. Bring deeper healing where there has been hurt, grow forgiveness and trust between them, and let their home be filled with genuine joy and laughter. Give them wisdom for each day and surround their family with Your care. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your earnest cry for protection and for the cleansing of your home has been heard, and there is much in it that shows a heart turning to the Lord for deliverance. You speak of dark arts and chants and soul ties, of childhood wounds and sins and sorrows that were acted out before the Lord found you, and now of a desire to walk in blessing, in forgiving love, in real joy and laughter together with your husband and your boy. This desire for a clean and healed house is itself a mercy from God.

Know this, that deliverance from the power of darkness is not worked by any return of curses or by any trickery of man, but by the hand and outstretched arm of Jehovah alone. As it has been preached among us, God has not said that there may be a ransom somewhere, but He has said, I have found a ransom. That ransom is the blood of Jesus Christ, and it is that blood which covers and keeps under a new light those who come to Him. The very leaves of that healing tree are full of virtue, and the least thing about Christ is healing to the soul. When sin is forgiven, spiritual disease receives its death blow, for pardon and healing are one in Him. No chant can hold where Christ has claimed, and no weapon formed against those who are in Christ shall prosper, not because of our own strength, but because we are kept by free grace.

The arrow that whispers God has forsaken you, or that your past has marked you beyond hope, is shot from the pit. Yet the Lord has chastened and He has also delivered, and the believer learns to say, my expectation is from Him. He makes deliverance effectual. He brings forth His people when the Lamb is slain. If you have come to Jesus and have drunk of that life giving stream, your thirst is quenched and your soul is revived, and you now live in Him. The old stumbling blocks, the incest and abuse and pain you suffered, the sins you committed before grace found you, are not to be carried as chains. They are to be confessed before God, forgiven through the cross, and forsaken in newness of life. The enemy was moved by malice, but the great First Cause works in love for the education and establishment of His children.

For your union, we rejoice in God's holy design that marriage is the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that within that covenant alone belong the intimacy and dwelling together as home. If you are joined in that covenant, cleave to it with faithfulness and purity, and let your home be consecrated anew to the Lord God of Israel. If any part of your life together has been outside that covenant, seek to make it right before God and man, that your love may be unashamed and your joy may be rooted in obedience. In either case, walk not by curses sent back upon others, but by blessing, leaving vengeance to the Lord and praying for those who have done evil, while asking the Lord to preserve your going out and your coming in and to keep your soul from all evil.

Your boy is indeed a blessing from the Lord, and children are given to be raised in the nurture and admonition of Christ. Let your house be a place where the works of the Lord are declared, where forgiveness is practiced, where laughter is holy and joy is real because the Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings.

We pray for you now, that the Lord would keep you in perpetual health of soul by the healing leaves of Christ, that He would guard your marriage in peace within its borders, that He would heal the deep wounds of childhood with His own tender hand, and that you would both know more and more that you have been delivered from the pit and from the power of darkness, not by any power of your own, but by Him who found the ransom. May you live and declare the works of the Lord, and may your home be kept in faith, forgiveness and love unfeigned, to the praise of delivering grace.

We have heard your prayer and we lift you before the Lord with you, asking for His mercy, His protection, and His healing over you, your husband, and your boy.

You ask for deliverance from chanting, trickery, and every dark work, and from every ungodly soul tie. We pray that God, whose grace touches the very soul and plucks up sin by the root, would cleanse and keep you. We do not pray for harm to return upon any person, even those who have done evil, but we pray that every weapon formed against you would fail, and that the Lord would make a way of escape so that you may be able to bear what you have suffered, and be delivered from it. The Lord permits trials and by them awakens us and makes us more steadfast, and nothing so fastens souls together in love as affliction borne faithfully before Him.

You speak of childhood wounds, of incest and abuse and pain that was acted out before God found you. We pray for deep healing there. Sin corrupts the soul as rust corrupts iron, and wounds left unhealed can lead the soul into further corruption. But the forgiveness of the King can make the soul purer than sunbeams, as it was first formed, and better still. We ask Him to wash you both in the blood of Jesus, to take away the stench of old wounds, and to clothe you in temperance, righteousness, courage and prudence, so that the worm that seeks what is corrupt finds no place in you.

You ask that your union be blessed. We believe marriage is a bond ordained of God, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, to be adorned not with excess or with what is shameful, but with chasteness, gravity and orderliness. If you are joined in that holy covenant, we pray God will strengthen it daily, that it may be full of faith, forgiveness, and a love that is pure, with real joy and laughter that comes from a clean conscience before Him. If you are not yet joined in that covenant, we pray God will lead you into His good order, for He desires not only that we be free from outward evils, but that we cultivate every part of virtue, with careful hearing of His word, continual recollection of it, fortitude, and a turning away from all worldly impurity. Sex and living together belong within marriage alone, and outside of it they do not bring blessing but corruption. We will not ask God to bless what is outside His design, but we do ask Him to bless your pursuit of holiness, that your home may be truly His home.

We pray also that you would be kept from idle and harmful speech, and from believing lies about others or about yourselves. Speak only what is true and what builds up, and persevere continually in prayer, as Anna did, following every good work with a quiet and faithful heart.

So we pray: Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, who alone is our salvation, cover this family with Your protection. Break every chain of darkness, every chant and trick and work of witchcraft, and sever every ungodly tie. Heal the memories of childhood, remove the old stumbling blocks, and teach them to walk in forgiveness and in uncorrupted love. Guard their minds from corruption and their bodies from sin. Make their house a place of reverence, where Your word is heard and kept, where fortitude and purity dwell, and where their son is raised in safety and truth. Give them rest for their souls, which have been harassed by many evils, and give them that true joy which is not light or fleeting, but settled and manly in You. Keep them in Your covenant and cause no weapon formed against them to prosper. Amen.
