We join you together in prayer for your beloved father and for your whole family in this long and difficult season of suffering, and we thank you for seeking the Lord Jesus so faithfully as the great Physician.
We are moved by your love and care for him during these many months since his brain stroke surgery, and we bring every detail you have shared before our Father. We pray for complete healing according to His perfect will, for the restoration of his neurological function, for his body movement to return, for his blood pressure and all vitals to be regulated and made stable, and for his strength to eat, to speak, and to walk again as before. We pray for his senses and reflexes to be smoothly restored, for his infections to be cured, for seizures to cease, and for those painful non healing bed sores to be healed.
We remember the promise that He is the Lord who heals us, as it is written, But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh, Jeremiah 30:17, and also Bless Yahweh, my soul, and do not forget all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases, Psalm 103:2-3. We cling to the truth that He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds, Psalm 147:3, and that by His wounds we are healed, Isaiah 53:5.
We lift up the medical team who are continuously working for his recovery, and we ask the Lord to grace them with wisdom, skill, steady hands and compassionate hearts, for every good gift of knowledge comes from Him. We pray as James teaches us, Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, James 5:14-15. We encourage you to continue to call upon your local church elders to pray over him and anoint him as you are able.
We also join you in praying for the forgiveness of his sins and for the sanctifying and protection of your house. Through Jesus alone we have forgiveness and access to the Father, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12, and it is by His blood we are cleansed. We pray that the Lord would sanctify your home and safeguard your family from all ungodly powers and evil, for faithful is the Lord, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one, 2 Thessalonians 3:3, and He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty, Psalm 91:1.
We pray for each family member who is weary from caregiving, that the Lord would grant you unity, renewed strength, unwavering faith and a peace that surpasses understanding. Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness, Isaiah 41:10, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:7.
Let us pray together.
Father in heaven, in the powerful name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior we come before Your throne of grace and we lift up this dear father to You. Lord, You know his body, his brain, his every nerve and vessel, for You formed him. We ask You to lay Your healing hand upon him, to resolve his neuro issues, to restore movement, sensation and reflexes, to regulate his blood pressure and vitals, and to give him strength to eat, to talk and to walk again. Lord, cure his infections, calm his seizures, and heal his bed sores from the inside out. We ask You to anoint the doctors, nurses and caregivers with Your wisdom and guide every treatment and decision. Forgive his sins through the blood of Jesus and forgive us all, and let Your mercy, love and protection rest upon this entire family. Sanctify their house, let Your presence dwell there, and keep all darkness far from them. Pour out upon the family unity when they are strained, strength when they are exhausted, faith when they are discouraged, and Your perfect peace as they wait upon You for a divine miracle. We trust Your timing and Your will, knowing You work all things for good for those who love You. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus, our only hope and healer, amen.
We encourage you to continue to trust Him day by day, to remain diligent in his medical care, to speak scripture and hymns over him, and to rest in the assurance that the Lord hears every prayer and is near to all who call upon Him in truth.
