We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear one who has been bedridden after a stroke, and their family who faithfully stands by them. Father God, You are indeed the Great Physician, the One who formed our bodies in the womb and knows every cell, nerve, and vessel. We ask You now to move mightily in this situation, touching this beloved one with Your healing hand. Lord, we pray for complete restoration—where there is weakness, bring strength; where there is paralysis, restore movement; where there is confusion, bring clarity. Regulate blood pressure, steady the heart, and calm the mind. Heal infections, prevent seizures, and close bed sores. Give wisdom and skill to every doctor, therapist, and nurse involved in their care, that they may be instruments of Your healing.
We also bring before You the spiritual concerns raised in this prayer. Father, we rebuke in the name of Jesus any influence of black magic, curses, or witchcraft that may be seeking to bind this family or this home. The Bible declares in James 4:7, "Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." We stand on that promise and command every evil spirit to flee in Jesus’ name. No weapon formed against this family shall prosper, for they are covered by the blood of Christ. We pray for a hedge of protection around them, that no harm may come near their dwelling.
We also ask for forgiveness of sins, for we know that sin can hinder our prayers and our health. Psalm 32:3-5 says, "When I kept silence, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long... I acknowledged my sin to you. I didn’t hide my iniquity. I said, I will confess my transgressions to Yahweh, and You forgave the iniquity of my sin." Father, if there is any unconfessed sin in this one’s life or in the lives of their family, we ask for repentance and Your cleansing. Wash them in the blood of Jesus and restore them to right standing with You.
And to the family, we say this: your faith and perseverance are seen by Heaven. Galatians 6:9 reminds us, "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up." Do not lose heart. Continue to trust in the Lord, for He is faithful. Lean on Him in prayer, in Scripture, and in the support of fellow believers. Your labor of love is not in vain.
Lord, we also want to address the foundation of this prayer. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to You. Acts 4:12 declares, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" We pray that this family knows Jesus not just as a healer, but as their Lord and Savior. If they have not yet surrendered their lives to Him, we pray they would do so today. For it is in His name alone that we pray, and it is by His stripes that we are healed (Isaiah 53:5).
So now, we pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name. We ask for a divine miracle of healing for this dear one. Touch their brain, restore their body, and renew their strength. Let them rise from this bed of affliction, walk again, speak again, and live again to glorify You. Bless the hands of those who care for them, and give this family peace that surpasses all understanding. Protect them from all evil, and let Your light shine brightly in their home. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn. We thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness, and we trust You for complete restoration. In Jesus’ powerful name we pray, Amen.
