We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious father who is suffering after a brain stroke. We recognize the deep love and concern of his family as they seek healing and restoration for him. First, we must address the mention of St. Rita in this prayer. While we acknowledge the sincerity of this request, we must firmly declare that our prayers are directed to God alone through Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We do not pray to saints or angels, but to the living God who hears us when we call upon Him in faith.
Father in heaven, we come before You with this urgent plea for healing. Your Word tells us that You are the God who heals us (Exodus 15:26) and that by Your stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). We ask You to touch this beloved father with Your healing power. Restore his neurological function, Lord. Strengthen his body to eat, speak, and walk again. Regulate his blood pressure and all his vital signs according to Your perfect will. Heal his infections, close his bed sores, and restore his immunity and reflexes.
We pray for the medical team attending to him, that You would grant them wisdom, skill, and compassion as they provide care. Give them discernment in their decisions and treatments, and bless their hands to be instruments of Your healing.
Lord, we also bring before You the spiritual concerns raised in this request. We rebuke any suggestion of curses, black magic, or witchcraft in the name of Jesus. Your Word declares that Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law (Galatians 3:13), and we stand on the truth that no weapon formed against Your children shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We pray for Your protection over this family and their home, that they would dwell in the secret place of the Most High and abide under the shadow of the Almighty (Psalm 91:1).
Father, we ask for Your forgiveness to cover any sins in this father’s life, and we trust in Your mercy and grace. Comfort and strengthen his family as they care for him, filling them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). We declare Your promises over this situation, believing that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).
Lord, we ask for a divine miracle in this father’s recovery. Whether through gradual healing or instantaneous restoration, we trust in Your perfect timing and plan. May Your name be glorified in every aspect of this situation, and may this family come to know You more deeply through this trial. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Healer. Amen.
