We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your father and your entire family in fervent prayer. The road of recovery after a stroke is long and challenging, but we know that nothing is too difficult for our God, who is the Great Physician and the Author of all healing. We join with you in crying out to Him, believing that He hears and answers the prayers of His children.
First, we want to address the foundation of our faith. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and it is by His stripes that we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We are so grateful that you have come to the Lord in Jesus' name, for He alone is our mediator and advocate before God (1 Timothy 2:5). If anyone reading this does not know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, we urge you to confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and call upon His name for salvation (Romans 10:9-10). Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6).
Father God, we lift up this dear brother in Christ who is bedridden, asking for Your complete and total healing to flow through his body. You are the God who raises the dead and calls into being things that were not (Romans 4:17). We ask that You would restore every damaged neuron, every weakened muscle, and every affected part of his body. Lord, we pray for the regulation of his blood pressure and all other vital signs, that they would return to normal and stable levels. Strengthen his body so that he may eat, speak, and walk again, just as he did before. We ask for the smooth restoration of his senses and reflexes, that his body would respond to his commands as You designed it to.
We also pray for the healing of any infections and bed sores, asking that You would bring comfort and relief from pain. Bless the medical team attending to him with wisdom, skill, and compassion, that they would be guided by Your hand in every decision and treatment. We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we rebuke any spirit of infirmity or sickness in Jesus' mighty name.
Lord, we ask for Your forgiveness to cover any sins in his life, and we thank You for the promise that if we confess our sins, You are faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). We pray for his family as well, asking that You would fill them with Your peace, strength, and endurance as they care for him. Provide for every need, both physical and emotional, and draw them closer to You through this trial.
We take authority over any form of black magic, curse, or witchcraft that may be directed toward your family or home. The Bible is clear that we are not to have anything to do with such practices, for they are detestable to the Lord (Deuteronomy 18:10-12). We declare that no weapon formed against your household shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment shall be condemned (Isaiah 54:17). We bind every evil spirit and command them to flee in the name of Jesus, for greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). We ask that You would sanctify your home and fill it with Your holy presence, driving out all darkness and fear.
Father, we trust in Your perfect will and timing. Whether You choose to heal him completely here on earth or call him home to be with You, we know that Your plans are for good and not for harm, to give us a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). We ask for Your will to be done, and we thank You for the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
We pray all these things in the powerful and mighty name of Jesus, our Savior, Healer, and Redeemer. Amen.
