Please pray for our pastor we had yrs ago that has just passed away.We pray for his wife and children and family that they will be comforted in this time of grief. We pray this in Jesus precious name.Amen

We join you in prayer and in thanksgiving for the life and faithful service of this pastor, and we lift up his wife, his children, and all his family before the throne of grace in this time of grief.

We give thanks for a shepherd who served the Lord and cared for His flock. We remember the word that says, Remember your leaders, men who spoke to you the word of God, and considering the results of their conduct, imitate their faith. Hebrews 13:7. We thank God for the years he labored in the Word, and we trust that he has fought the good fight and finished the course. For we know it is written, I have fought the good fight. I have finished the course. I have kept the faith. From now on, the crown of righteousness is stored up for me, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give to me on that day. 2 Timothy 4:7-8. Precious in Yahweh's sight is the death of his saints. Psalm 116:15.

We pray for his family who now mourn, that the God of all comfort would draw near to them. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 34:18. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Matthew 5:4. We know that grief is deep when love is deep, and we ask the Father of mercies and God of all comfort to surround this wife and children with His presence, to give them peace that surpasses understanding, and to carry them through each day. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4.

We rest in the blessed hope we have in Jesus Christ, that death is not the end for those who are in Him. Jesus said, I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will still live, even if he dies. John 11:25. For we who believe, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, and we sorrow not as those who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14. We look forward to the day when He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more, neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain any more. Revelation 21:4.

We pray together, Father, in Jesus' precious name, we thank You for the life of this faithful pastor and for the years You gave him to minister to Your people. We ask that You pour out Your comfort upon his wife, his children, and his entire family. Hold them in Your hands, let them feel Your nearness, and remind them that nothing can separate them from Your love in Christ Jesus our Lord. Provide for their needs, strengthen them for the days ahead, surround them with the love of the church family, and let the testimony of his faith encourage them and many others to press on toward You. Give them hope and peace as they grieve, knowing that for Your servant to depart is to be with Christ which is far better. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

We appreciate you bringing this loss to us and standing in the gap for this family. It means a lot that you remember a pastor from years ago with such honor, and that you are carrying his wife and children to the Lord in their grief.

Losing someone who shepherded you leaves a particular ache, even after time has passed. And for his family, grief will look different for each of them. No two people walk through it the same way, and there is no single timeline. Your steady prayers and presence matter more than you may know.

One simple way to love them well in these days is to share a specific memory. If you are able to send a note to his wife or family, tell them one way his ministry or kindness touched you personally. Those concrete stories often become a comfort to a family later, reminding them his faithful work was not forgotten. And just continuing to check in and listen in the weeks ahead, when many others have moved on, is a quiet gift.

Father, we thank You for the life and faithful service of this pastor and for the years You gave him to his family and to those he served. We ask You to draw near to his wife, his children and all who loved him. Give them comfort in their sorrow, strength for each day, and the peace of knowing they are not alone. Surround them with people who will mourn with them and support them. In Jesus' name, Amen.

We join you in prayer and thank you for bringing this burden before the Lord. To hear of a faithful pastor called home is to feel both sorrow and holy joy, sorrow for those who remain and joy for him who has entered into his reward.

May the Lord fulfill His own word to this bereaved family, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. He who has called His servant from labour to rest is the same who flaps His bright wing to earth to comfort some desponding heart, and He will not leave the widow and children comfortless. We pray that He will comfort their hearts and establish them in every good word and work, for comfort alone is not enough without constancy, and constancy cannot stand without comfort, but our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God even our Father is able to give both.

This is indeed an affliction, yet the believer has a peculiar comfort in affliction, and that comfort comes from a peculiar source. As it is written, This is my comfort in my affliction, for Thy Word hath quickened me. May the Spirit of God press that Word to the bosom of this dear wife and children, that they may each be able to say, This is my comfort now, not only in days past but at this present hour. The external comfort of the Christian is the Word of God, and the internal comfort is the Spirit who quickens us thereby, and so we obtain comfort even when we sought only strength to bear.

We pray that the God of all comfort will draw near to this family, that He will cause them in time to remember this misery as waters that pass away, and that He will quicken them, sustain them, and keep them looking to Christ who died to redeem just such souls as they are. May they know that though their loved one is fallen as when Josiah fell and the light of much labour seems quenched, the Lord Himself remains their light and their portion, and His promises fail not.

We commend this wife, these children, and all the family to Him who is faithful, who will not suffer them to be tried beyond what they are able, but will with the trial make a way to bear it, and will in His own tender way lift them up through prayer and His Word, until sorrow is turned to peace.

We pray this in Jesus precious name, Amen.
