Restoration: Praying for Enemies, Job 42:10, Matt 5:44, Luke

Nochaeld

Beloved of All
Father, we thank You for Your creative power, Gen 1:1, and that You are so powerful and creative You can take what others meant for evil, You purpose for good -- THE SAVING of MANY LIVES, as Joseph interprets the misdeeds of HIS BROTHERS in the light of the only valid worldview, Your Sovereignty, Gen 50:20. YOU even take what the physical and spiritual rulers of this age, yes, even the devil means for evil, in Your wisdom of THE CROSS of CRUCIFIXION of The MESSIAH, The LORD of GLORY, 1 Cor 2:8, Jesus Christ, into the instrument of SALVATION, by "BEARING the SIN of MANY, and INTERCEDING FOR the TRANSGRESSORS," Isaiah 53:11-12.

Work everything together for good who love You and according to YOUR PUPOSE are called, Rom 8:28 (See the word order in the Greek)... RESTORE the years that the locusts have eaten, Joel 2:25, make us glad for as many days and years that we've been afflicted, Ps 90:15, Give us a double portion, Isa 61:7, let us pray for and be kind to those who afflict us and pray for them to be saved, Prov 25:21-22, Matt 5:44, Luke 6:27-28, Rom 12:20-21, restore to us double, Zech 9:12, James 5:11, 1 Peter 5:10, like when Job prayed for his friends who falsely accused him, Job 42:10, Jesus prayed for those who crucified them, Luke 23:34, and Stephan, the first martyr (after Jesus) prayed for You wouldn't hold the sin of stoning a righteous and anointed man for telling the elders the truth that they were acting historically as those against the past in crucifying JESUS, against them, Acts 7:59-60.

Father, increase The Kingdom of Christ, Isaiah 9:7, Col 1:6, Phil 1:6 by the Holy Spirit Zech 4:6, in our parents, children, family and friends' lives -- also in our lives and the lives of those who pray for, 2 Cor 1:11, Eph 6:18, and help support us -- grant persevering faith to salvation, Matt 24:13, even faith that overcomes, Rev 2:7, Rev 2:11, Rev 2:17, Rev 2:26, Rev 3:5,Rev 3:12, Rev 3:21, Rev 21:7-- for everyone who is truly born of God overcomes the world by believing Jesus Christ is the Son of God, 1 Jn 5:4-5, with a living faith that abounds in good works, James 2:17, for we were saved by grace through faith not BY works, Eph 2:8-9, but FOR GOOD WORKS which You prepared beforehand, in advance for us to DO, Eph 2:10.

Bless and keep them, us, their parents, families and ones they pray for, Numbers 6:4-26, save their families, Gen 7:1, Ex 12:3-4,Acts 2:38-39, Acts 16:29-32. Give them and us everything we need for Life and godliness, 2 Peter 1:3-4, Matt 6:11, Luke 11:3, Luke 6:38, John 1:16, Rom 8:32, 2 Cor 9:9-11, Eph 1:3, Eph 1:17-20. Keep us from The Evil One, Jn 17:15, and Sanctify us in Your Truth, Your Word is Truth, Jn 17:17, Thank You in Jesus' Name.

We join with you in thanking our Father for His creative power and sovereign wisdom, for in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth Genesis 1:1 and He remains sovereign over all that happens. We agree with you that what others mean for evil God purposes for good, as Joseph declared to his brothers you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to save many people alive Genesis 50:20. Even the wisdom of the cross displays this, for the rulers of this age crucified the Lord of glory 1 Corinthians 2:8, yet by that very act He bore the sin of many and made intercession for the transgressors Isaiah 53:12 so that salvation might come to us.

We love how you have anchored this prayer for restoration in the call to pray for our enemies. Jesus commands us love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you Matthew 5:44 and again love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you Luke 6:27-28. We are reminded that if your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat, if he is thirsty, give him water to drink Proverbs 25:21 and that we overcome evil with good Romans 12:21. Your reference to Job is so precious to us, for the Lord restored Job's losses when he prayed for his friends Job 42:10. In that same spirit Jesus prayed Father, forgive them, for they don't know what they are doing Luke 23:34 and Stephen prayed Lord, don't hold this sin against them Acts 7:60. This is the heart of Christ in us.

We also stand with you for the promise of restoration itself. We know that to those who love God all things work together for good for those who are called according to his purpose Romans 8:28. We ask the Lord to fulfill His word I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten Joel 2:25 and Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us, for as many years as we have seen evil Psalm 90:15. Instead of shame we claim your double portion Isaiah 61:7 and as prisoners of hope we look for Him to restore double to us Zechariah 9:12, for after we have suffered a little while, the God of all grace will himself restore, establish, strengthen and settle us 1 Peter 5:10. We remember how the Lord's compassion and mercy was revealed in the endurance of Job James 5:11.

We pray together now.

Father, we thank You for Your sovereignty and for the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ through which You have turned the greatest evil into our greatest good. We ask in Jesus' name that You would restore what the locusts have eaten in our lives and in the lives of our parents, children, families and friends and in all those we pray for and those who pray for us. Give us grace to pray faithfully for our enemies, to bless those who have afflicted us, and to seek their salvation, trusting that You desire all to be saved. Let Your Kingdom increase without end Isaiah 9:7 and let the word of Christ bear fruit and increase in us Colossians 1:6, for it is not by might, nor by power, but by your Spirit Zechariah 4:6. Perfect in us the good work You began until the day of Jesus Christ Philippians 1:6 and grant us persevering faith to endure to the end Matthew 24:13, the faith of overcomers, for whoever is born of God overcomes the world by believing that Jesus is the Son of God 1 John 5:4-5. Make our faith living and active, shown by good works James 2:17, remembering we are saved by grace through faith not of works Ephesians 2:8-9 but created in Christ Jesus for good works which You prepared beforehand that we should walk in them Ephesians 2:10.

We ask You to bless and keep us and our families Numbers 6:24-26, to save our households as You saved Noah and his family Genesis 7:1 and as You promised that the promise is to you and to your children Acts 2:39, believing with the jailer that if we believe on the Lord Jesus Christ we will be saved, we and our households Acts 16:31. Grant us everything that pertains to life and godliness 2 Peter 1:3, give us this day our daily bread Matthew 6:11, fill us in abundance pressed down and running over Luke 6:38, for of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace John 1:16, and with Him freely give us all things Romans 8:32, blessing us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ Ephesians 1:3. Keep us from the evil one John 17:15 and sanctify us in Your truth, Your word is truth John 17:17.

We thank You that we have access to You only through Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and we offer all these requests in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.

We were so encouraged reading your prayer and the way you are holding both restoration and love for enemies together before the Lord. That is not an easy place to stay, and we thank God for the hope and generosity we hear in your words for your family, your friends, and even for those who have caused hurt.

What you named about praying for those who have afflicted you is so important. We have found that choosing to pray for someone can be a quiet decision we make before our feelings have fully caught up, and over time God can soften the resentment and fear that naturally linger. It helps to remember forgiveness and restoration are often a slow, unfolding work rather than a single moment, and the Lord is patient with us in that process.

If it would help this week, you might pick just one person or one situation from what you lifted up and bring it briefly to God each day by name, asking for His mercy and good in their life and for His healing in yours, and then leave the outcome in His hands.

Father, we thank You for this brother or sister and for their trust in Your power to redeem and restore. We ask You to keep them and their family in Your care, to guard their hearts in truth, to provide what they need for life and godliness, and to deepen their faith day by day. Make Your presence known to those they love and to those they are praying for, and let Your kingdom grow in all these lives. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer has come before the Lord with many scriptures upon its lips, and it is good to see affliction turned into supplication and supplication turned into intercession for others. You have rightly remembered Joseph, who said to his brothers, you meant evil against me but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, and you have rightly remembered the cross, where what the rulers of this age meant for evil became in the wisdom of God the instrument of salvation, for He bore the sin of many and made intercession for the transgressors.

This is your comfort in your affliction, that His Word has quickened you. None of us can expect to escape trial, and every child of God can speak of my affliction, yet believers have in affliction a peculiar comfort. The Lord comforts His servants by quickening them. Perhaps you have been sluggish when in health, but affliction has made you feel the value of the promise and the value of the covenant blessing, and then you have cried to God for it. Do not look so much at the affliction as at the end and at the design of God. It is a rough knife that you have been pruned with, but it is the gardener that used the knife, and your God is using this affliction for your good.

You pray as Job prayed for those who had falsely accused him, and as Stephen prayed for those who stoned him, and as our Lord prayed for those who crucified Him, Father forgive them. This is the mission of affliction rightly understood, to make us like Christ who loves the souls of sinners and willingly bears affliction for their sakes. When you pray for those who have afflicted you, you follow the word of the Lord, love your enemies and pray for them that despitefully use you, and you heap coals of fire not of vengeance but of love, that God may look upon your affliction and repay you with good for their cursing. It is well to leave your cause with Him who judges righteously.

And be assured that Jesus Himself has prayed for you. Not your brethren have prayed for you only, not you have prayed for yourself only, but He says, I have prayed for you. That mighty Pleader who is our Advocate above has made provision for all your future in a prayer already presented. As long as Jesus wears His breastplate we shall not be destroyed by Satan's sifting. When you come back to your old strength and your old faith, then exercise yourself usefully for your Lord, for He speaks of restoration as quite sure.

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, works for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. Your affliction is very light compared with the blessing which you enjoy, for many of you have had your sins forgiven for Christ's sake, and the blessing of full and free forgiveness must far outweigh any affliction. God will not merely acquiesce in His dealings with you, but you will thank Him for using the sharp knife of affliction to separate you from your sin. He who has promised to restore the years that the locusts have eaten, and to give a double portion instead of shame, and to restore double as a prisoner of hope, is faithful. This is perfect restoration, for Christ has redeemed us from the curse, and there is a fountain opened for the house of David that His people may wash and be clean. Perhaps you may never be quite fit for what you were before, and yet there will be some place where you will be more qualified to serve Him than you were before, for instance in looking after others who have been tried.

So we join you in praying that He who began a good work will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ, that He will keep you from the evil one and sanctify you in His truth, for His Word is truth. We pray that He will increase the kingdom of Christ in your parents and children and family and friends, and in all those who pray for you and help support you, not by might nor by power but by His Spirit. We pray that He will grant persevering faith, a living faith that overcomes the world by believing that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, a faith that abounds in good works, for we are saved by grace through faith not by works, but for good works which He prepared beforehand for us to walk in. We pray that He will give you all things that pertain to life and godliness and supply your daily bread according to His riches in Christ.

Keep on praying in the Holy Spirit and keep yourselves in the love of God, multiplying prayers for others lest the mercy seat become a place for spiritual selfishness. Pray humbly, praying in the power of the Spirit, and then wait for the answer. It is discourteous after having asked to be careless about the answer. Look for it, for He who promised is faithful, and He will in His time repay with good and make you glad according to the days wherein you have been afflicted.

May the Lord bless you and keep you, may the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you, may the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace, and may He save your household and establish you to the end, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Your prayer for restoration and for grace to pray for those who have afflicted you has been heard, and we join you in bringing it before the Lord.

We thank God with you for His creative power and sovereign wisdom. As you have recalled from Joseph and from the cross, God is able to take what others meant for evil and ordain it for good, for the saving of many lives. At the cross, what the rulers of this age meant for evil became the very instrument by which Christ bore the sin of many and interceded for transgressors. We ask the Father to work all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose, as you have prayed from Romans 8:28.

You have asked for the restoration promised in Joel and Isaiah and Zechariah, that God would restore the years the locusts have eaten and grant a double portion. We pray with you for that restoration according to His mercy and timing, not as entitlement but as grace. Scripture teaches that every righteous person must pass through affliction, for the narrow way leads to life. Affliction is not wasted. God permits it to train us, to show His power, and to lead us to deeper thanksgiving when He brings relief. As you wait, we pray you will be kept from murmuring and be given grace to give thanks both for comfort and for affliction, trusting that His grace is sufficient and His strength is made perfect in weakness.

We also join you in obedience to our Lord's command to love our enemies, to pray for those who despitefully use us, and to overcome evil with good. Christ Himself, when He was crucified for sinners and enemies, prayed for those who crucified Him. Stephen prayed likewise for those who stoned him, and Job prayed for the friends who had falsely accused him, and God restored him. We ask God to give you that same spirit, to bless those who have harmed you by praying earnestly for their salvation through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we are saved. We pray that any enmity would be put under Christ's feet in the right way, that enemies would be reconciled to God through faith in Him, and that you would be perfected as one sanctified by His one offering.

We pray with you for the increase of Christ's kingdom in your family and in the lives of all you have mentioned, parents, children, friends, and those who support you in prayer. We ask the Lord to grant persevering faith, a living faith that overcomes the world by believing that Jesus is the Son of God, a faith that is not idle but abounds in the good works which God prepared beforehand for us to walk in. For we are saved by grace through faith, not by works, but for good works.

We ask the Lord to keep you from the evil one and to sanctify you in His truth, for His word is truth. We pray He will supply all you need for life and godliness and keep you steadfast to the end.

May the Lord bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you, lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace, and may He grant salvation to your household as you continue to seek Him. We pray for diligence on your part and continual dependence on help from above, to ask and seek and knock as our Lord taught. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Lord. Amen.
