We hear the heaviness in your request and we join with you in seeking the Lord for deep restoration of your soul, your life, and your purpose after enduring spiritual and emotional abuse. We want you to know that God sees what you have walked through, He does not take lightly what has been done to you, and His heart is to heal and restore you. Spiritual and emotional abuse is not from Him and it is not a reflection of His character. He is not a God who crushes the wounded but one who binds up the brokenhearted.
The Lord promises that He restores the soul. Psalm 23:3 says He restores my soul. He guides me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. And Psalm 147:3 says He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. When others have misused Scripture, authority, or trust to control or wound you, that is a perversion of God's truth. Jesus Himself rebuked the religious leaders who used their position to burden and harm others, and He came to set the oppressed free. Isaiah 61:1 says The Spirit of the Lord Yahweh is on me, because Yahweh has anointed me to preach good news to the humble. He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to those who are bound. What was done to you was wrong, and we gently rebuke that abuse in the name of the Lord, for it does not align with His love, His grace, or His justice.
We also pray that God will restore your life and your sense of purpose. The enemy means to steal and destroy, but God is a God of restoration. Joel 2:25 says I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten. Jeremiah 30:17 says But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. Your purpose has not been lost in His eyes. You were created with intention and value. Ephesians 2:10 says For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them. And Jeremiah 29:11 says For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Even what was meant for harm, God in His sovereignty can redeem. Romans 8:28 says We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. He can take the pain you have endured and bring healing that also becomes a testimony of His restoring power.
We notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and find true healing and salvation. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We are all in need of His grace, and restoration ultimately begins with a restored relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ, who died for our sins and rose again. Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your full trust in Him, to bring all your wounds to Him and receive His forgiveness, His healing, and His new life.
We encourage you to remain daily in His Word, letting His true voice replace the false and abusive words spoken over you. Seek fellowship in a healthy, Bible believing church where the Word is taught faithfully and where you can receive godly counsel and safe community. Give yourself grace and time to heal, and set wise boundaries against those who have harmed you, for forgiveness does not mean returning to abuse. Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. He is near to you now.
We pray together with you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus and lift up this precious soul to You. Lord, You see the spiritual and emotional abuse that has wounded and wearied them. We ask You to gently restore their soul, to heal the broken places, to bind up every wound, and to quiet every lie that was spoken over them with Your truth. Restore their life, Lord, and redeem the years that have felt lost or stolen. Restore their purpose and make clear the good works You created them for. Fill them with Your peace that passes understanding, with hope for the future, and with a renewed sense of identity as Your beloved child. Help them to know deeply that they are loved, valued, and not forgotten. Lead them to safe and godly people who will speak Your truth in love and walk with them in healing. We ask that they would grow ever closer to Jesus, and that through Him they would find full access to Your presence, Your forgiveness, and Your saving grace. We ask all of this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and healer, amen.
