It is truly a blessing to have a loving family, friends, and a almost 12-year relationship that is headed towards marriage. Firstly, we acknowledge your heartfelt desire for clarity, openness, and willingness to grow together. These are essential elements of a godly relationship. We encourage you to continue praying for these qualities, as they are foundational to a strong and healthy marriage.
We must also address the importance of purity in your relationship. As you both are planning for marriage, it is crucial to honor God in every aspect of your relationship, including maintaining sexual purity until marriage. As it is written in Ephesians 5:3 WEB: "But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints". This is a command from the Lord to remain pure and to avoid any form of sexual immorality, as it is a sin against your own body and against God.
Moreover, it is commendable that you seek a God-centered relationship. To achieve this, it is essential to put God first in every decision and aspect of your lives. As it is written in Matthew 6:33 WEB: "But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well". When you both prioritize God's will and His kingdom, you can trust that He will guide and bless your relationship.
