Shalom Jdavis,
I have read a book called Prison to Praise. What is interesting about the word 'prison' is that one does not have to be in a physical prison with bars to be bound, but many put themselves in a prison of their own making.
The word "praise" is another interesting word. Scripture tells us that we should give the sacrifice of praise. This means, when things are going really bad and things seem dark and there is no light to be seen, then praise lifts us up above that darkness into the realm of the victory that Yeshua won for us.
Let the high praises of God be in our mouth and a two edged sword (word of God, light) in our hands. As we give thanksgiving and praise with words coming from our mouth, we are actually sending light swords or laser beams to pierce and shatter the realm of darkness.
The children of Israel marched around Jericho for seven days. The first six days, not a word was spoken. Do you ever wonder why? Because out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. I'm sure when seeing those fortified walls, that the children of Israel had many doubts of how they going to take the city. I can see the people of Jericho, watching those children of Israel marching around not saying and word and wondering why they were so quiet. I can imagine it must have been very disquieting to them. On the 7th day, they were giving their marching orders and when given the command to shout!!! When the command was given, and the praises went up, the walls came down. That's very prophetic for us as believers.
Many look at the mountain and see an impossbility, but with God all things are possible. I encourage you to stop looking at what you see and begin to praise the Lord for His goodness and mercy. Thank Him for this situation, for your wife being in an adulterous affair. Why? Because your focus is on God and not on the situation. Just as the children of Israel were told to shout for the victory was theirs, so also, in the face of defeat, when the praise goes up, the walls comes down.
Satan wants you to focus on what you see with your physical eyes, but the word of God says, to Cast your cares upon the Lord, for He cares for you.
For it is written:
Pro 4:20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
Pro 4:21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
Pro 4:22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
Pro 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
Pro 4:24 Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.
Pro 4:25 Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.
Pro 4:26 Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.
Pro 4:27 Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.
Thank you Father for another opportunity to praise You for your goodness towards man. Thank you that even in the face of defeat, it is not JDavis who is the defeated one, but satan who is under his feet! Thank you for the victory that is JDavis' because of Yeshua Ha'Mashiach. Thank you for his wife and for their family. Thank you that you are the God who restores and redeems. I speak shalom to you Jdavis, let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. In Yeshua's name. amen.
