Restoration of Marriage

Shinebright

Disciple of Prayer
Goodevening, I am thankful for Gods blessings through Faith by Jesus Christ. I am in agreement with God in His Word of Reconciliation of Marriage above all. Please pray this prayer with and for my husband and I. Heavenly Father, I come before You today in Jesus Mighty name, lifting up my husband and our marriage. Lord, You see the papers signed, the legal decisions made, and the label of "ex-wife" that the world and circumstances have tried to place upon me. Lord, I ask that You intervene in my husband mind, his heart, and his memory. Remove every spiritual veil, confusion, bitterness, or coldness that causes him to see me only through the lens of a legal divorce. Soften his heart of stone and replace it with a heart of flesh that honors Your design for covenant and unity. Father, reintroduce his heart to the truth of who we are in Your eyes. Stir his spirit to remember the love, the bond, and the covenant we shared. Break every lie of the enemy that says our story is permanently finished, and let Your healing and restorative power flow between us. Lord, I surrender my anxiety, my heartache, and the outcome into Your hands. If it is Your will to restore what is broken, open the doors that no man can shut and let him recognize me once again as his wife—chosen, valued, and joined to him by Your grace. Give me the peace, wisdom, and patience to walk in faith while You work. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.

Marriage
Duties of Husbands to Wives
The Finger of God
We join you in thanking God for His blessings through faith by Jesus Christ and we stand in agreement with you for the reconciliation of your marriage, for we know that marriage is a holy covenant instituted by God Himself.

We are moved by your surrender and by your desire to see God honored above all, even above the pain of papers signed and the label the world has placed upon you. We affirm with you that what the law of man declares is not always what God declares in heaven, and that His power to restore is greater than any legal decision. For it is written, What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate Mark 10:9 and also For I hate divorce, says Yahweh, the God of Israel Mal 2:16. God does not take covenant lightly, and He is able to soften hearts that seem hardened beyond reach.

We pray with you that the Lord will indeed intervene in your husband's mind, heart and memory. We agree with you asking God to remove every veil, confusion, bitterness and coldness, and to fulfill His promise, I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh Ezek 36:26. We rebuke the lies of the enemy that would tell either of you that your story is permanently finished, for with God nothing is impossible and He is able to heal what is broken. We also encourage you to continue to release all bitterness and to walk in forgiveness, as we are commanded, And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you Eph 4:32. Restoration cannot be built on striving or manipulation, but on grace, truth and patient love.

We also affirm the goodness of your coming before the Father in Jesus mighty name, for there is no other name by which we have access to God and by which we are saved. Jesus Himself said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. Your faith in His name is the foundation of this prayer.

We encourage you to remain steadfast in honoring your covenant while you wait upon the Lord. The scripture teaches, Let the wife not leave her husband and Let the husband not leave his wife, but if she departs, let her remain unmarried, or else be reconciled to her husband 1 Cor 7:10-11. This is a call to faithfulness, purity and patience, keeping yourself from fornication and from seeking another relationship, and instead seeking first Gods kingdom and His righteousness Matt 6:33, trusting that He will add what is needed according to His perfect will. We know this waiting brings anxiety and heartache, so we cling to the promise, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Phil 4:6-7. We also remember that we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose Rom 8:28, even when we cannot see how.

So together we pray, Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this sister and her husband and their covenant marriage. Lord, You see every paper signed and every wound inflicted, and You see the pain of being called ex-wife when her heart still longs to be a wife according to Your design. Father, we ask You to move upon her husband right now, to soften his heart of stone and give him a heart of flesh, to lift every veil of confusion and bitterness and to let him see clearly through Your eyes. Holy Spirit, stir his memory to recall the love and the covenant that You joined together, and break every lie that says restoration is impossible. Lord, pour Your healing and restorative power between them where there has been coldness and separation. We surrender this sister's anxiety, heartache and every outcome into Your loving hands. If it is Your will, open the doors that no man can shut and reintroduce his heart to the truth of who they are in You, that he may again honor her as his wife, chosen, valued and joined by Your grace. Grant her Your peace that surpasses understanding, wisdom for each step, and patience to walk by faith while You work. Keep her faithful and pure before You, guard her heart from despair, and let Your will be done in this marriage for Your glory. We thank You that You hear us when we pray in Jesus name, and we trust You to answer according to Your perfect love and timing. In Jesus mighty name we pray, Amen.

We are grateful you shared this with us, and we hear the ache behind your words. Carrying the weight of signed papers while still holding the covenant in your heart is a deeply painful place to be, and the label the world puts on you does not tell the whole story of who you are before God.

We admire the way you are bringing your husband and your marriage honestly before the Lord and surrendering both your hope and your anxiety to Him. Restoration, when it is possible, is not a quick fix but a slow rebuilding of trust and love that would need willingness from both of you, and it often takes time, healing, and wise support around you.

One steady next step that may help you in this season is to stay connected to a trusted pastor or mature believer who can walk with you personally, pray with you regularly, and help you discern how to love well while also respecting boundaries and the legal reality as it stands. It can give you a safe place to process grief and to keep your own heart tended to as you wait on the Lord.

Father, we lift this sister and her husband to You in Jesus name. You see every detail, every hurt, and every hope. We ask for Your peace to guard her heart, for wisdom and patience for each day, and for Your healing work in both lives. Where there is coldness or confusion, bring clarity and softness in Your way and timing. We trust this marriage and this future to Your gracious hands. Amen.

We have heard your prayer and we join you in bringing it before the throne of grace through Jesus Christ our Lord.

There is a sorrow that is deep when a covenant is torn, and yet there is hope, for we serve the God of Peace who has prepared everything that is necessary for a perfect reconciliation. The same Lord who looked upon Peter after his fall and restored him, not with harsh rebuke but with a look of love that brought him to repentance, is able to look upon a stony heart and make it a heart of flesh. We have seen in the Scriptures and in our own experience that when almighty love draws us back after sad wanderings, it does so to restore and to strengthen.

You have spoken rightly when you call marriage a covenant. It is not a mere legal standing that can be made and unmade by papers, but a union cemented by mutual love wherein two are made one. The Lord Himself says, I am married unto you, and that marriage is the result of choice and is held together by His grace. The world may place a label of ex wife upon you, but the Lord sees the heart and He is able to do what no man can do. As one bone that has been broken may become stronger after the fracture than it was before, so the Lord is able to bring a perfect restoration where there has been breaking, if it be according to His wise and holy will.

We will pray with you and for you and for your husband in this way.

Heavenly Father, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ we come before You. You see this wife in her heartache and her husband in his present path. You see the papers signed and the distance that now stands between them. Lord, we ask for Your mercy upon them both. If there has been sin, bring the conviction that leads to true repentance, that godly sorrow which David knew when he cried, Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Soften what is hard, remove every veil of bitterness, confusion and coldness, and grant a spirit of forgiveness and humility to both. Where there has been harm, teach them to seek to strengthen one another and to walk in the way of reconciliation that You have committed unto us in Christ.

Father, we ask that You would give this dear soul peace that passes understanding, wisdom to walk faithfully day by day, and patience to wait upon Your hand. Open the doors that no man can shut if it be Your will to restore this marriage for Your glory, and if in Your sovereignty Your path is otherwise, still keep her close to Christ, who is the true Bridegroom of His Church, and let her find her completeness and comfort in Him. Let Your healing power flow and let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

We encourage you to continue steadfast in prayer and in the Word, to seek the counsel and covering of faithful believers in a local church who can walk with you, to guard your heart from anxiety by casting your care upon Him, and to pursue holiness and forgiveness as the Lord Himself forgave you. Do not seek to strive in your own strength to win back affection, but lay yourself out to do good and to live in a manner worthy of the grace you have received, trusting that the Lord who did not wait until Peter came back but came after him will do what is right and good in His perfect time.

May the Lord keep you and cause His face to shine upon you as you wait upon Him. In Jesus mighty name, Amen.
