Restoration of Marriage

Beloved of All
Appreciate prayers for my daughter and son-in-law and their marriage after infidelity discovery 5 weeks ago. My daughter is a believer and very repentant. Not straightforward as third party an abusive alcoholic narcissist and family member. Felt trapped. Stalked. Love bombed. Had to end it for own piece of mind. Husband now agnostic was atheist. He is also autistic and struggles generally. Attempted suicide twice now. They have 2 daughters, one autistic teenager who struggles with school. They live in rented house girls have own rooms before flat sharing a room. Both currently on sick as mental health through the roof. There was hope initially, then it got very bad and the Lord spoke to my son-in-law and there was a breakthrough and he wanted to go to Church. Went to Church last week. Not for him. Now it's back to square one and not looking good. His idea of him leaving her is for her to leave with the daughters so he would be living alone in a house he couldn’t afford. Sadly messy but I know nothing is impossible with the Lord. Not willing to get counselling, mediation or be reconciled or forgive. Stubborn in character. I've tried to support as best I can by signposting and praying but I struggle. Prayers for Healing and emotional strength. For restoration and reconciliation. Prayers for protection and guidance. For the softening of hearts, repentance, divine strength to forgive, and protection over the family, trusting that God can mend broken hearts even when hope seems lost. Thank you.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your daughter, son-in-law, and their precious daughters in this deeply painful season. Father, we know that You see every tear, every broken piece of their lives, and every struggle they face. We declare that nothing is impossible with You, and we stand in faith for the restoration of this marriage, trusting in Your power to heal what seems irreparably damaged.

Lord, we first ask for Your mercy and grace to surround your daughter. She has walked through the fire of betrayal, manipulation, and emotional torment, yet she has turned to You in repentance. We pray that You would strengthen her in her weakness, reminding her that Your grace is sufficient (2 Corinthians 12:9). Protect her mind from the lies of the enemy—that she is unworthy, that her marriage is beyond repair, or that she must carry this burden alone. Fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and give her the courage to stand firm in faith, even when the path ahead seems dark.

We lift up her husband, Lord, and ask that You would break through the hardness of his heart. His struggles with faith, mental health, and the weight of his own failures have left him feeling hopeless, but You are the God who raises the dead to life (Ephesians 2:5). We rebuke the spirit of unbelief that has taken root in his heart and ask that You would reveal Yourself to him in ways he cannot ignore. Father, we know that no one comes to You unless the Spirit draws them (John 6:44), so we ask that You would draw him with cords of love and kindness. Soften his heart to receive Your truth, and let him see the destruction his choices have brought—not to condemn him, but to lead him to repentance.

Lord, we must address the sin that has fractured this marriage. Infidelity is a grievous violation of the covenant they made before You, and it has left deep wounds. We pray that both of them would understand the gravity of this sin and turn away from it completely. For your daughter, we ask that You would help her to forgive, not because her husband deserves it, but because You have commanded it and because unforgiveness will only poison her own heart (Matthew 6:14-15). For her husband, we pray that he would humble himself, seek forgiveness, and take responsibility for his actions. His refusal to seek counseling, mediation, or reconciliation is not of You, Lord. We rebuke the pride and stubbornness that keeps him from taking the steps necessary to heal this marriage. Your Word tells us that if we confess our sins, You are faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Let him experience that cleansing, Lord.

We also lift up their daughters, who are caught in the crossfire of this pain. The older one, already struggling with the challenges of autism and school, needs Your special protection and comfort. Lord, we ask that You would be her peace in the midst of this storm. Give her the strength to endure and the hope to believe that You can restore what has been broken. For the younger daughter, we pray that she would not be defined by the chaos around her but would know Your love in a deep and personal way. Guard their hearts and minds, Father, and let them see Your hand at work even in the midst of their family’s brokenness.

Lord, we know that this situation is not just about human relationships but about spiritual warfare. The enemy has sought to destroy this family, but we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We rebuke the spirits of division, despair, and destruction that have taken hold in this home. We command them to flee in the name of Jesus Christ, the One who has already overcome the world (John 16:33). We pray for a hedge of protection around this family, that no further harm would come to them, and that the enemy’s plans would be thwarted at every turn.

Father, we also ask that You would provide for their practical needs. They are facing financial strain, mental health struggles, and the weight of daily life. Your Word tells us that You will supply every need according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). We ask that You would open doors of provision, whether through employment, community support, or unexpected blessings. Give them wisdom in managing their resources and the strength to persevere through this season of hardship.

Lord, we pray for a miracle of reconciliation. We know that You hate divorce (Malachi 2:16) and that You desire for marriages to reflect the love and commitment of Christ and the Church (Ephesians 5:25). We ask that You would breathe new life into this marriage, that Your love would be the foundation upon which they rebuild. Let them see each other through Your eyes—flawed, yes, but deeply loved and capable of redemption. We pray that they would both surrender their wills to Yours, trusting that Your plans for them are for good and not for harm (Jeremiah 29:11).

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would strengthen the one who has brought this request before You. It is not easy to watch those we love suffer, and we know that this burden has weighed heavily on their heart. Give them the endurance to keep praying, the wisdom to know how to support their daughter and son-in-law, and the peace that comes from trusting in You. Remind them that their labor in prayer is not in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58) and that You are working even when they cannot see it.

We declare that this family will not be defined by their brokenness but by Your redemption. We speak healing over their hearts, restoration over their marriage, and hope over their future. We trust in You, Lord, for You are the God who makes all things new (Revelation 21:5). In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We're here with you, standing in the gap for your daughter and son-in-law's marriage. We've been praying, and we want to add our voices to the petitions already lifted up.

For your son-in-law, we're praying for a breakthrough in his struggle with faith and mental health. We're asking God to reveal Himself to him in a powerful way, to break the chains of unbelief, and to give him the courage to seek help and make things right.

We're praying that they would be a source of joy and hope for their parents, and that God would use this situation to draw them closer to Him.

We're believing for a miracle, that this marriage would be restored, and that God would use this trial to draw them closer to Him and each other. We're trusting in God's power to heal, restore, and redeem, and we're claiming His promise that He can make all things new.

We're also praying for you, dear friend. We know this is hard, and we're asking for God's strength, wisdom, and peace as you walk through this with them. We're believing that God will give you the words to speak and the actions to take that will bring hope and healing.

We're standing with you in faith, believing that God is at work, even when it's hard to see. We're claiming His promise in Romans 8:28, that all things work together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Be a Prayer Warrior: “Praying for others”

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer for your daughter, son-in-law, and their precious family during this incredibly painful and complex season. Our hearts have been heavy as we’ve lifted them before the Lord, interceding for healing, restoration, and breakthrough in ways only He can provide.

We’ve prayed specifically for your daughter—that the Lord would continue to surround her with His peace, strengthen her emotionally, and remind her of His unfailing love even when circumstances feel overwhelming. We’ve asked God to shield her from further harm and to give her the courage to walk in forgiveness, trusting Him to bring justice and redemption in His perfect timing.

For your son-in-law, we’ve pleaded with the Father to soften his heart, to break through the barriers of doubt and stubbornness, and to reveal Himself in ways that pierce the darkness of unbelief. We’ve asked the Holy Spirit to minister to his wounded spirit, to bring comfort in his struggles, and to draw him back to the hope found only in Christ. We’ve also prayed fervently for protection over his mental health, that the Lord would guard his mind and spirit from despair and lead him to the help he needs.

For their daughters, we’ve asked God to be their refuge, their stability, and their joy—especially for their autistic teenager, that she would find grace in her challenges and feel the Lord’s presence in tangible ways. We’ve prayed for provision over their home, that financial burdens would be lifted and that they would experience God’s faithfulness in every practical need.

And for you, we’ve asked the Lord to sustain you as you support them. We’ve prayed for wisdom in how to love them well without carrying their burdens as your own, and for the strength to keep trusting God even when the path ahead seems unclear.

We know this situation is layered with pain, betrayal, and deep wounds, but we also know that nothing is impossible with God. We believe He is at work even when we can’t see it, and we will continue to stand in faith with you for complete restoration—of hearts, of trust, and of this marriage. If the Lord has moved in any way since you first posted, we would love to hear how we can join you in praise. If the battle still rages, we will not grow weary in praying alongside you. May the Lord bless you with His peace, fill you with His hope, and remind you that His love is the ultimate healer.

We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
