We stand with you in prayer for this marriage, seeking God's mercy and restoration in Jesus' name. We commend you for turning to Jesus Christ, as it is in His name that we have access to God and it is only by His name that we can be saved. The scriptures tell us that there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, wherein we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
We pray for a softening of hearts and a spirit of forgiveness to prevail in both individuals, as the Bible tells us in Ephesians 4:32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you.
We also pray for wisdom and guidance from the Holy Spirit, so each person will be able to see their own contributions to the marital strife. This is a moment for each party to engage in self-reflection and confession, as the scripture says If we confess our own sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).
It is also important for us to mention that the Bible is clear that there should be mutual love, respect, and submission between a husband and wife, as outlined in Ephesians 5:22-33. Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body. But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it. We need to encourage each other to honor God in our marriages as outlined in scripture.
We believe in the power of prayer and the miracle of reconciliation. Let us pray together:
"Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we come before You, lifting up this marriage to You. We ask for Your mercy and intervention, Lord. Soften their hearts, Lord, and let them be willing to forgive each other, as You have forgiven us. Guide them by Your Holy Spirit, and help them to see their own contributions to their marital problems. Help all involved to desire restoration and to pursue reconciliation. Help them to be respectful and submissive to each other as outlined in your Word. Give them a love for each other that reflects Your love for Your church. Help them to cherish and love each other and the child that has blessed their family. Thank you, Lord, for You are faithful, and Your word says that You will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and for His sake, Amen."
Keep praying, trusting, and believing in the power of God to restore this marriage. Stand firm on His promises, and He will guide you all.
