Restoration in my marriage

Wheotel

Disciple of Prayer
Please pray with me, that God should restore my marriage, my husband sent me out of the house, we are separated, God should take away my husband's stoney heart and give him a heart of fresh to be able to love and let go of in forgiveness in his heart. My name is ### from ###.

We stand with you in this time of deep sorrow and heartache, lifting your marriage before the Lord, for He alone is the God of restoration and redemption. The pain of separation is heavy, but we serve a God who specializes in the impossible, who can turn hearts of stone into hearts of flesh. Your cry echoes the heart of Hosea, who pursued his unfaithful wife as a picture of God’s relentless love for His people. Just as the Lord commanded Hosea to love his wife despite her brokenness, we trust that God is working even now to soften your husband’s heart and draw him back to you in repentance and love.

The Scriptures remind us in **Ezekiel 36:26 (WEB)**, *"I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh."* This is the promise we cling to for your husband—that God would perform this miraculous work in him, removing bitterness, unforgiveness, and hardness, replacing it with a spirit of humility and love. We also remember **Malachi 2:16 (WEB)**, where God declares, *"For I hate divorce," says Yahweh, the God of Israel, "and him who covers his garment with violence!"* Your marriage is sacred in His sight, and He is grieved by its brokenness. But take heart, for our God is a God of reconciliation. **2 Corinthians 5:18 (WEB)** tells us, *"But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ, and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation."*

Yet, as we pray for your husband’s heart, we must also encourage you to examine your own. Have you sought the Lord in repentance for any ways you may have contributed to this separation? Not to assign blame, but to ensure your heart is fully surrendered to Christ, for **Matthew 7:5 (WEB)** warns, *"You hypocrite! First remove the beam out of your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck out of your brother’s eye."* If there has been sin—whether pride, unforgiveness, or neglect—confess it before the Lord and ask Him to cleanse you. This is not to justify your husband’s actions, but to ensure you are walking in obedience, trusting God to fight this battle for you.

We also urge you to guard your heart against bitterness. **Hebrews 12:15 (WEB)** warns, *"Looking carefully lest anyone falls short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up troubles you, and many be defiled by it."* In this season of waiting, fill your mind with the Word of God, surround yourself with believers who will speak truth and life into you, and refuse to entertain thoughts of despair or revenge. Instead, choose to forgive your husband, even now, as Christ has forgiven you. **Colossians 3:13 (WEB)** says, *"bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do."*

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our sister and her marriage. Lord, You see the brokenness, the pain, and the separation that has torn this family apart. But You are the God who heals, who restores, and who redeems what the enemy has stolen. We ask You to move mightily in the heart of her husband. Soften his stony heart, Lord, and replace it with a heart of flesh—one that is tender, repentant, and full of Your love. Remove every spirit of pride, bitterness, and unforgiveness that has taken root in him. Break the strongholds that have kept him from seeing the truth of Your will for his marriage.

Lord, we pray for supernatural conviction to fall upon him. Let him be restless until he returns to You and to the covenant he made before You. Bring godly sorrow that leads to repentance, and let him see the devastation his choices have caused—not just to his wife, but to Your heart, for You hate divorce. Restore to him a right spirit, and let him run back to his wife with a heart ready to love, to cherish, and to lead as You have called him to do.

Father, we also lift up our sister. Strengthen her in this season of waiting. Fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Guard her heart from bitterness, despair, or fear. Let her find her worth and identity in You alone, knowing that she is deeply loved by You. Give her wisdom to know how to respond, how to pray, and how to walk in forgiveness, even when it is hard. Surround her with Your people who will speak life, truth, and encouragement into her.

Lord, we stand against the enemy’s plans to destroy this marriage. We declare that no weapon formed against this union will prosper, for You are its defender. We bind every spirit of division, confusion, and rebellion in the name of Jesus, and we loose Your Spirit of unity, love, and restoration. Let this separation be only for a season, and let the testimony of this marriage’s restoration bring glory to Your name.

Father, we ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Redeemer and Restorer. Let Your will be done, and let Your kingdom come in this marriage. We trust You, Lord, and we give You all the praise, honor, and glory. Amen.

Finally, sister, we encourage you to hold fast to hope. **Jeremiah 32:27 (WEB)** declares, *"Behold, I am Yahweh, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me?"* There is no situation too broken for Him to restore. Keep praying, keep trusting, and keep walking in obedience. If your husband is unwilling to reconcile, continue to seek the Lord for wisdom on how to proceed, but never lose hope in God’s power to save and restore. Stay rooted in a community of believers who can support you, and remember that your ultimate hope is in Christ, not in the outcome you desire. He is faithful, and He will never leave you nor forsake you. Stand firm in that truth.
