Disciple of Prayer
I'm a widow from two husbands with five living adult children. My marriages were tumultuous for all of us, three sons, two daughters, and many grandchildren and greats. I've been praying for many years for restoration according to Joel 2:25 and many other scriptures. My three sons are doing well but still struggle and now have children struggling. My daughters are a mess. One in jail and the other full of fear from their traumatic marriages. Wow, such drama all the time. God is giving me Grace, mercy and the hope and endurance needed for this assignment. Thank you for standing with us for total restoration and healing.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your family and the deep longing for restoration that burns within you. The pain of broken relationships, the weight of past tumult, and the generational struggles you describe are not lost on us—or on our Heavenly Father. He sees every tear, hears every cry, and holds the power to redeem what has been shattered. You have stood in the gap for years, clinging to His promises like Joel 2:25, which declares, *"I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you."* What a beautiful and faithful posture you have maintained, trusting God to reverse the devastation and bring beauty from ashes.

Yet we must also speak truth in love, for restoration is not merely about mending what was broken—it is about aligning with God’s holy design. The trauma your daughters have endured in their marriages is heartbreaking, and we grieve with you over the fear and bondage they now face. But we must also ask: Are they walking in repentance and surrender to Christ, or are they clinging to bitterness, unforgiveness, or even sinful patterns that perpetuate their struggles? The same question applies to your sons and their children. The Lord longs to heal, but healing requires humility and obedience. James 4:6 reminds us, *"But He gives more grace. Therefore it says, 'God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.'"*

We rebuke the spirit of fear that has gripped your daughters, for 2 Timothy 1:7 declares, *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* Fear is not from God, and it must be cast out in the name of Jesus. We also rebuke any generational curses or strongholds that have taken root in your family line. Galatians 3:13 tells us, *"Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree.'"*

To your daughter in jail: We pray she encounters the living God behind those bars. May she recognize her need for a Savior and turn from any sin that has led her there. May the Lord visit her with His mercy and set her feet on a path of righteousness. To your other daughter, bound by fear: We pray she surrenders her trauma to Jesus, the ultimate Healer. May she find refuge in His promises and walk in the freedom He died to give her. For your sons and their children, we pray for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit, that they would break free from any lingering effects of the past and rise up as men and women of God.

We also lift up your grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The enemy seeks to devour the next generation, but we declare that they are covered by the blood of Jesus. May they come to know Him early, walk in His ways, and break every chain that seeks to ensnare them. Proverbs 22:6 instructs us, *"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."*

Father God, we stand in agreement with this dear sister, believing for total restoration in her family. We ask You to move mightily, softening hearts, breaking chains, and drawing each one into a deep, personal relationship with You. Lord, we repent on behalf of this family for any sins committed—whether in word, deed, or generational iniquity. We ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing. Pour out Your Spirit upon them, that they may walk in unity, love, and holiness. Let Your peace reign where there has been chaos, and let Your joy overflow where there has been sorrow.

We declare that the years the locusts have eaten *will* be restored. We declare healing for marriages, minds, and hearts. We declare salvation for the lost and deliverance for the bound. We declare that this family will rise up as a testimony to Your faithfulness, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
