We hear your heart’s cry for rest, protection, and provision, and we join you in lifting these needs before the throne of grace. The Lord is our Shepherd, and He promises to lead us beside still waters and restore our souls (Psalm 23:2-3). In a world filled with anxiety and uncertainty, we declare that His peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can approach You and find salvation (Acts 4:12). We ask that You grant ### deep, restful sleep, free from fear or disturbance. Let Your angels encamp around them, shielding them from all harm and danger (Psalm 91:11). Provide for every need, financial, physical, and emotional, according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). We trust You to cover the costs of medical treatments and surgery, for You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider (Genesis 22:14). Strengthen their body, mind, and spirit as they wait on You.
We also pray for wisdom and discernment in every decision, that they would walk in alignment with Your will. If there are areas of worry or doubt, we rebuke the spirit of fear and declare that perfect love casts it out (1 John 4:18). May ### find comfort in Your presence, knowing that You neither slumber nor sleep but are ever watchful over them (Psalm 121:3-4).

The cry of your heart ascends to the throne, and He who neither slumbers nor sleeps bends His ear. You ask for restful sleep, yet know this: “So he giveth his beloved sleep.” This is no common slumber, but a sleep of security and contentment, a sleep granted to those who cast their burdens upon the Lord. When the mind is tossed with care for provision and the body wearied by affliction, remember that the Shepherd of Israel neither grows faint nor weary. He who watches over you will not let your foot slip; He will not let you be put to shame who trust in Him.
You mention financial need, medical treatments, a surgery. These are the steep places where the lame sheep fears to tread. Yet “in the Divine economy, the more care you require, the more care you shall have.” The Good Shepherd has laid down His life for you; will He not also freely give you all things? He knows your frame; He remembers you are dust. He who clothes the lilies and feeds the ravens will not forsake His own, purchased with precious blood. Cast your care upon Him, for He cares for you with an everlasting love.
Look now to the doctrine of Divine Sovereignty, there is no comfort more rich. He creates that He may display His own perfections, and your very need becomes the canvas for His provision. The dry tree, by grace, shall flourish. The low tree shall mount to the stars. Be not anxious for tomorrow. Rest in His covenant faithfulness, for if He were to desert you, it would be much to His dishonor. That gentle touch, that Divine love-pat, shall end all sorrow. Sleep, then, in the arms of Jesus, for so He giveth His beloved sleep.

You ask for restful sleep. Yet consider whether the sleep you seek is merely for the body while the soul lies in a drunken stupor of worldly cares. Many lie awake to pitiable purpose, plotting deceits, anxious about money, their watching worse than sleep. Those who are sober and fear God find their sleep composed, for their hearts are not stifled by excess. Do not merely strive for physical rest, but cut off the passions that disturb the soul’s peace. True sleep comes when we are watchful in the day of virtue, not slumbering in wickedness.
You ask for divine protection. Remember that He who keeps Israel does not slumber, yet He also commands: do not suffer your foot to be moved. The suffering depends on yourself. If you stand steadfast and unmovable, you will not be shaken. Guard yourself, then, from the sleep of sin that brings every danger, and you will abide under the Almighty’s shadow. No outward threat can harm the soul awake to God.
You ask for financial provision for medical treatments and surgery. To make provision for the flesh is not forbidden, but it must be for health and necessity, not to kindle the flames of wanton desire or anxiety. Riches and the craving for wealth are a drunkenness of the soul, a dream full of phantasy that soon flies away. Instead of being weighed down by these cares, entrust your needs to God, who knows them. And use whatever ability you have, in money, in diligence, to help the poor and relieve the distresses of others. Engage in this spiritual traffic, and you will store up profit in heaven. The true healing you need is the healing of the soul from sin, offered freely in the Church, a surgery for all wounds. Seek that first, and these bodily things will be added.
Pray then in Jesus’ name, not as one dreaming, but with a sober mind, watching for His deliverance. For neither rest nor surgery can mend what is ultimately broken within. Only Christ makes whole.

The command to give no sleep to your eyes until you have settled your debts is often quoted, but do not forget the promise that follows: when you do sleep, wisdom will keep you, and when you awake, it will talk with you. The lamp of the Word shines right into the anxiety that whispers you must solve everything before you close your eyes. You do not. Lift those concerns like a prayer rising up a ladder set on earth, with the Lord standing above it. Let Him guard the opening while you rest, expecting Him to speak fresh direction and provision when morning comes.
This does not mean you sleep the sleep of the sluggard, folding your hands in laziness while needs mount. But your request itself proves you are already watching and sober, wearing the helmet of hope. There is a deep sleep that comes from the Lord, a gift that shuts out the noise of the hunter and the wolf. Receive it. The same One who rebuked the wind will not be troubled by the commotion climbing the hill toward you. He knows the source of true showers of blessing, and He will cause provision to descend in its season. Whether you wake or sleep now, you live together with Him, and that includes your surgery, your treatment, and every dollar that seems missing tonight. You are kept.
