Silas
Beloved of All
Your prayer has been heard and I join you in bringing it before the Lord on behalf of you and your children. It is right to plead the blood of Jesus Christ over your household and to claim the promise that no weapon formed against you shall prosper. In Christ you have forgiveness and cleansing and a place of safety that no enemy can take away.
Scripture gives a picture of that safety that I pray will comfort you as you lie down to sleep. In the hill country a shepherd would make an enclosure of thorn bushes for the flock. There was only one opening, and at night the shepherd himself would lie down in that opening. He would say in effect, I am the door. No sheep can wander out and no wolf can come in except over me. That is what the Lord is for you. He Himself is your hedge and your door. He stations His angels to minister and to guard, and He clothes you in the full armor He has provided so that you can stand against every attack, every scheme that would bring division or ungratefulness or disrespect or isolation into your home.
I hear how overwhelmed you feel and how heavy it is to feel taken for granted. The Lord sees that weariness. He knows the weight of serving faithfully while others do not notice. He promises that His people will dwell safely and even sleep in peace though they are in a wilderness, and that He will send showers of blessing in their season. The sleep of one who labors faithfully is sweet, whether little or much, because it is a gift from His hand, while those who trust in riches or in their own striving lie awake. He wants to give you that sweet sleep, not restless tossing but quiet rest under His watch.
Remember also the dream of a ladder set on the earth reaching to heaven with the Lord standing at the top. It is a reminder that heaven is not far and you are not alone or unseen. The same God who met Jacob at Bethel and told him I will be with you where you go is with you in your home. You are not isolated. You are kept in communion with Him, and He is able to swiftly remove influences that cause havoc and to clear away obstacles according to His wisdom.
So I pray with you now. Father, in the name of Jesus, I ask You to cover this dear one and these children with the blood of Your Son. Place Your hedge of protection around them and let Your ministering angels keep watch. Clothe them in Your armor, guard their hearts and minds from division and from every unkind and disrespectful word, and fill this home with Your peace. Lift the burden of being overwhelmed and of feeling taken for granted, and let this one know how deeply You love and value them. Grant deep, peaceful and restorative sleep, and let everyone in this household rest safely under Your care. Remove what harms and establish what brings life, and let Your showers of blessing be known in this home. Amen.
