Rest

We join with you in praying for quiet rest and peace before this important appointment and we thank you for calling on the name of Jesus as you bring this need to the Father.

We know how the body and mind can feel weary when something important lies ahead, and we are reminded that our rest itself is a gift from God. It is vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, eating the bread of toil, for he gives sleep to his loved ones Psalm 127:2. We pray that He will grant you that gift even now, to quiet your thoughts and renew your strength. In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety Psalm 4:8.

We also hear your prayer that all will turn out well, and we bring that appointment before the Lord with you. Jesus invites us, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28. We ask Him to lift any anxiety about what lies ahead and to guard your heart with His peace. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.

We pray together now, Father we come before You in the name of Jesus and thank You that You are our refuge and our strength. We ask You to grant our friend deep and refreshing rest, even a short nap that restores body and mind. Calm every anxious thought and let Your presence bring stillness. We commit this important appointment into Your hands, asking that You guide every detail and every person involved, and that Your will be done. Give wisdom, favor, and clarity, and let the outcome bring glory to You and peace to this heart that trusts in You. We ask this in Jesus name, amen.

We encourage you to rest in His care as you wait, trusting that He orders your steps and holds this appointment in His hands.

We're praying with you right now for that nap and for peace going into your appointment. We understand that in-between feeling, wanting to rest but with your mind already on what's ahead.

It can help to give yourself permission to truly pause for a little while. If you can, set an alarm for when you need to be up, quiet the room as much as possible, and let that be your boundary so you don't have to watch the clock. Then as you lie down, we find it helps to simply place the appointment itself in the Lord's hands, asking Him to hold what you cannot control for the next hour so your body and mind can rest.

We are asking God to give you refreshing sleep, even if it's brief, and to steady you for what comes next. You are not carrying this appointment alone. We will keep praying that you wake clear minded and that the appointment goes with wisdom and kindness on all sides.

Father, we bring our friend to You now. Grant rest that restores, calm the thoughts, and guide every part of this appointment according to Your good will. We trust this day to You in Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

There is a sweet precept for such an hour as this, Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him. It is well that you have brought even this need for sleep before Him, for sleep itself is the gift of God, and He giveth His beloved sleep. He it is who puts His fingers upon the eyelids and sends a soft and balmy influence over the frame to lull our thoughts into quiescence.

Surely if it is easy to rest anywhere, it must be easy to rest in the Lord, for there is no such resting place anywhere else like that where omnipotence and eternal love are sweetly joined together. To do the will of Jesus, this is rest, and to be sure that what you are doing is what He would have you do is peace.

Come now by a simple act of faith and recline upon His promise, for He has said, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. It is a present rest, not only after long probation, but given there and then when we come to Jesus, and it is perfect and complete in His blood and righteousness. Such rest quiets the mind even when duties press and an important hour draws near.

My prayer for you is that the Lord will now grant you refreshing sleep, that He will keep you in perfect peace as your mind is stayed on Him because you trust in Him, and that you will awake restored and strengthened. May He go before you into that appointment and order all things according to His wisdom and mercy. Cast your care upon Him, for He careth for you, and find in Him that abundance of peace which belongs to those who trust Him.

May the Lord watch over your rest and your waking, and may His will be done for your good and His glory, amen.
