Your prayer has come before the Lord and before His people, and we have heard the heaviness of your heart in these many trials. You love Jesus and you love your daughter, and you desire to provide for her and to see her rejoice on her birthday, and at the same time your body still bears the pain of your accident and your spirit is wearied with daily obstacles. The Lord knows all this, for in whose hand is the soul of every living thing and the breath of all mankind.
You have spoken as Job did when he was sore afflicted, and we are reminded of his words, The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away, blessed be the name of the Lord. In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly. It is no sin to weep, to feel the loss of what might have been, or to grieve over an unfaithful father who adds stress where there should be help. A mother's grief and a mother's love are sacred things, and the Lord sees your tears. Yet Job teaches us to look beyond second causes to the first cause, and to say, Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him. God is able to uphold you in all this, as He upheld Job, and to bring you through it for His glory and your good.
We will pray with you for healing. The Scripture says, He sent His Word and healed them and delivered them from their destructions. There is healing in Christ, for pardon and healing are joined together in Him. When Jesus touches, the fever leaves. We ask the Lord to guide the hands of the doctor and assistants in your leg procedure today, to grant skill and mercy, and to work a speedy healing in your body according to His perfect will. We pray also for your ongoing pain and for strength in your weakness, that the Sun of Righteousness may rise upon you with healing in His wings, healing first of the soul through forgiveness in Christ, and then healing of the body as it pleases Him.
For your provision we also pray. You desire a remote job to better provide for your sweet daughter and to make her birthday a joyful remembrance. God is your Father who knows your need, and He raises up the poor out of the dust and lifts the needy out of the dunghill. We ask Him to open a door for honest work whereby you may labor faithfully and provide for your household. Concerning the insurance, we pray not for gain beyond what is just, but that the Lord would move those responsible to do what is right and fair, and that He Himself would supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus, whether through that means or another, and teach you contentment in His will.
And concerning your desire for a godly husband, we pray with you that if it be the Lord's will, He would in His time bring into your life a man after His own heart, a man like Boaz in kindness and integrity, like David in faithfulness to God, to love you and your daughter within the holy covenant of marriage, that lifelong union of one man and one woman which God ordained from the beginning. We pray that you would be kept in purity and wisdom as you wait upon the Lord, seeking first His kingdom, trusting Him to write your story, and not hastening beyond His Word which reserves living together and the privileges of marriage for marriage alone.
May the Lord bless you and your daughter, keep you in His grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone, who is the only way of salvation, and cause you to declare His wonderful works with rejoicing. We pray that you and your child would know pardon through His blood and healing through His hand, and that you would be able to say with Job after his trial, I have heard of Thee by the hearing of the ear, but now mine eye seeth Thee.
Father, in the name of Jesus, look upon this dear mother and her daughter. Forgive their sins, heal this mother's body, calm her anxious heart, provide honest work, protect the child, make her birthday full of simple joy, and guide this medical procedure to a good end. If it be Thy will, provide a faithful godly husband in due time, and keep them both walking in holiness until that day. Let all be done according to Thy will, and give grace to trust Thee and praise Thee even now. Amen.
