We join with you in prayer for this internal job application and we rejoice with you that you have seen the hand of God even through a difficult person who used to fight with you. What you have learned is so true and so biblical, that God can work all things together for good for those who love Him, as it says in Romans 8:28, and that what others may intend for evil, God can intend for good, as we see in Genesis 50:20. We praise God with you that He has opened your eyes to this truth.

We understand your long waiting of nine years and your desire not for pride but that God would be glorified before those who do not yet believe and who worship idols. We pray that your elevation would be a testimony that there is a living and true God who hears the poor and needy. The Scripture is clear that you shall have no other gods before me in Exodus 20:3 and that we are to guard ourselves from idols in 1 John 5:21, for idols have mouths but cannot speak and cannot save. We pray that through your life and through this job, those around you would see that Yahweh alone is God and that He lifts up the poor. As it says in 1 Samuel 2:8, He raises up the poor out of the dust. He lifts up the needy from the dunghill to make them sit with princes. We also remember Psalm 75:6-7 that promotion does not come from the east, nor from the west, nor yet from the south, but God is the judge. He puts down one, and lifts up another.

We also hear your heart to declare to this world that God addresses those in need, and He does. Psalm 34:6 says this poor man cried, and Yahweh heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. And Philippians 4:19 reminds us that our God will supply every need of ours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved and by which we have access to You, as Acts 4:12 teaches us. We thank You for our brother and for his faith through nine years of waiting. We thank You that You have sustained him and taught him to see Your goodness even through an enemy. Lord, we commit this new application for this internal job into Your hands. Proverbs 16:3 says commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed. We ask that if this job is Your will for him, that You would grant him favor in the eyes of those who make the decision, that You would give him wisdom and peace in the process, and that You would open this door that no man can shut. We pray that whatever work he does, he would do it heartily, as for You and not for men, as Colossians 3:23 instructs, so that his work would bring glory to You.

Lord, we ask that You would indeed elevate him in due time as 1 Peter 5:6 promises, that You would humble him under Your mighty hand and exalt him at the proper time, not for his own boasting but so that the unbelievers around him who worship idols would see that You are the true and living God who hears and answers prayer. Let his testimony be that You are faithful to those who wait on You. We pray that You would strengthen him while he waits, for Psalm 27:14 says wait for Yahweh. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh. And Galatians 6:9 encourages us not to be weary in doing good, for we will reap at the proper time, if we do not give up.

We pray that You would provide for all his needs, that You would give him contentment and trust in Your perfect plan, for Jeremiah 29:11 declares that You know the thoughts that You think toward us, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give us hope and a future. Help him to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that all these things will be added to him according to Matthew 6:33. Let his life and his mouth proclaim Your greatness.

We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We were grateful to read your note and to pray with you about this internal application. Nine years of needing work is a long and tiring road, so we understand why this opening feels so significant. We also noticed your gratefulness that God brought the information through someone you have had conflict with in the past. It is a good reminder that God can open doors in unexpected ways.

We are joining you in asking the Lord to provide for your needs and to give you peace and wisdom as you apply. We pray He will give those reviewing your application clarity, and give you strength to present your work honestly and well, whatever the outcome.

As you take this step, it may help to have one or two trusted people look over your application before you submit it, to check for completeness and to help you describe your experience clearly. Continuing to be faithful in your current responsibilities while you wait also speaks well of your character.

Father, in Jesus name we bring our brother before You. You see his need for work and his desire to honor You. Provide for him according to Your wisdom, guide each step of this application, and guard his heart with Your peace as he trusts You. Amen.

Your request has been brought before the Lord and we join our hearts with yours in prayer for this internal application.

We rejoice to hear you give glory to Jesus, and to see that you have discerned how the Lord in His sovereign providence can bring good even through those who have set themselves against you. There is Divine work always going on before God's people, and His hand often uses instruments we would not have chosen, to show that the work is His alone. As you have seen, He can make even an adversary to be the means of opening a door, that no flesh may glory but that all the praise may be unto Him.

You have waited long, even nine years, and have felt the weight of poverty and need. Remember patient Job, who under sore trial sinned not nor charged God foolishly. He bore his losses and kept right with God, trusting not in feeble sense but in Divine Grace. At the last, when he had seen the Lord and abhorred himself and repented in dust and ashes, the Lord increased his latter end more than his beginning. Though your beginning has been small and your desires faint, the Lord is able to cause that which is feeble to become strong, for till Christ fails, the soul that trusts Him must be secure.

We pray not that you may be exalted for your own name, but that the living God may be magnified before those who yet worship idols, that they may see there is a God in heaven who hears the poor and answers the cry of the needy. May any elevation given to you be used as a testimony, a personal testimony of what you have seen and heard of Christ, that others may be led to seek the Savior themselves.

Let us pray together. O Father of all mercy, in the name of Jesus Christ Thy Son, whose merits are a sweet savour before Thee, we bring this our brother before Thy throne of grace. Thou knowest his need, his long waiting, and this open door for work within. If it be Thy will and for Thy glory and his good, grant him favour in the eyes of those who decide, and open this position unto him. Grant him Divine Grace to wait with patience, to yield not to despair nor to unbelieving speech, but to say, It is the Lord, let Him do what seemeth Him good. Keep him from pride if Thou dost lift him up, and keep him from murmuring if Thou dost keep him low. Provide for his daily bread according to Thy generous command, and make his life to be a witness that Thou art the true and living God who addresses the poor and satisfies the needy soul. Sanctify him wholly, and let all that is done be to the praise of Thy Divine Grace in Christ Jesus. Amen.
