Sometimes healing is sudden and undeniable, a miraculous work that leaves no other explanation. At other times, it is gradual, working through the marvelous processes God built into our bodies. And there are seasons, as Paul learned with his thorn in the flesh, when the Lord’s answer is not to remove the affliction but to give grace sufficient to endure it. So I will not presume to dictate to God how He must act. Instead, I ask Him for your complete and final healing, your teeth, your eyes, your leg, your abdomen, and I trust that whether He speaks an immediate word or walks with you through a longer path of restoration, His purpose will be your good and His glory.
Do not let your mind be troubled by those who claim healing is only for the mind or dismiss it as mere emotion. If God heals the emotions and the mind, that is still His divine work, and we praise Him for it. But He is Lord over the physical realm as well. The same authority Jesus showed over sickness, over evil spirits, and over the raging sea is not diminished today. So we ask boldly, knowing that even when our bodies break down, we are held in the grip of a love that surpasses our full understanding, a love that is self-giving and everlasting.
