My mother had a massive brain aneurysm that had burst and caused a significant brain hemorrhage in April of 1997. The Lord was gracious and blessed my family with a miracle in her survival.
My mother was granted the chance to continue to grow in her devotion to the Lord, as well as inspire others to do so through her survival. She has also stood with and counseled others who have suffered similar affliction. She was able to continue to raise two (of four) sons, and see her first grandchild be born.
My mother has persevered through many hardships; the death of her son, my brother, in 2000 , and has suffered seizures as a result of her brain injury, which due to a 2002 injury in the bathtub, caused her severe burns on 2/3 of her body.
These seizures, and the medications necessary to control them, are chiefly responsible for her debilitated state. We had the opportunity to meet with a team of specialists, who are confident that they can remove the scarred tissue in my mothers brain, and restore her to health. It is their educated opinion that following this procedure, she would no longer be plagued by her seizures, nor debilitated cognitively by the medications necessary to control them, which, through the last decade, has been hard on her health. This procedure, however, is not without risk.
It is my heartfelt and humble request that my mother, Georgia Flood, be added to your prayers, that she may survive this operation on May 5th and emerge healthy and free from the seizures that have plagued her, and the medications which have hampered her cognizance. I ask sincerely that she be granted the opportunity to grow in her wisdom of the Lord, and be able to share that wisdom with those whose life she intersects, most especially her grandchild, and future grandchildren.
Thank you so much.
God Bless,
Richard Flood
