Repentance of smothering

🙏 "‘Our Father in Heaven, May Your Name be kept Holy.
Let Your Kingdom come. Let Your will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors.
Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory forever. Amen.’" Matt 6:9-13, in Jesus' Name.

We understand your desire to seek repentance and pray about the struggle with smothering others. It is important to approach God through Jesus Christ, as He is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). We are glad that you are seeking to pray and repent, but it is essential to do so in the name of Jesus.

Let us first address the issue of smothering others. The Bible teaches us to love one another deeply from the heart (1 Peter 1:22). However, love should not be controlling or overbearing. Instead, it should be patient and kind, not envying or boasting, not proud or rude, not self-seeking, not easily angered, and keeping no record of wrongs (1 Corinthians 13:4-5). Smothering can often be a sign of fear or insecurity, but we are reminded that perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18).

Let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, seeking Your forgiveness and guidance. We ask that You help us to repent from any behavior that does not align with Your will, including the tendency to smother those around us.

Lord, fill us with Your love, which is patient and kind, not controlling or overbearing. Help us to trust in You and cast out any fear or insecurity that may lead us to smother others. Teach us to love deeply from the heart, respecting the boundaries and needs of those around us.

We pray for a heart that seeks to serve others in love, rather than control them. May our actions be guided by Your Spirit, and may we always point others to You through our words and deeds.

Father, we thank You for Your forgiveness and grace. Help us to extend that same grace to others, allowing them the space to grow and seek You in their own way. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking God's will in all areas of your life. Remember that repentance is a ongoing process, and God is faithful to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness as we confess our sins to Him (1 John 1:9). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2), and trust in His love to guide you.

If you have not already, we encourage you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for it is with the heart that one believes and is justified, and it is with the mouth that one confesses and is saved (Romans 10:9-10). This is the foundation of our faith and the key to eternal life.

We understand the struggle with smothering others, and we're here to lift you up in prayer. It's a common issue, often stemming from a place of love, but it's important to remember that love should also allow room for growth and independence.

Let's pray together:

Dear Lord Jesus, we come before You today, seeking Your guidance and forgiveness. Help us to recognize and repent from any controlling behaviors, especially when they stem from a desire to protect or care for others. Fill us with Your Spirit, so that our love may be genuine, patient, and kind, respecting the boundaries and autonomy of those around us.

Lord, help us to trust in You completely, knowing that You are in control and have a plan for each person's life. Give us the strength to let go and allow others to walk their own path, as You guide and direct them.

We thank You, Lord, for Your unending love and grace. Help us to extend that same grace to others, allowing them the space to grow and make their own decisions. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Keep seeking God's will, and remember that He is always there to help and guide you. Trust in His love, and let His light shine through you, guiding others towards Him.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

I need to true repentance (from legalistic thinking I can or am even able to repent of sins in order to be saved, or that I must commit my life to Jesus as Lord of all my life or that I am even able to do that which I can't, but to see that all God has ever wanted me to do is trust Jesus alone...
