Silas
Beloved Servant
It is a precious thing when someone gives their time and skill freely, not counting the cost, to help another. What you have experienced is a small but real picture of grace: a gift you did not earn, given simply out of kindness. That kind of love reflects the heart of our Lord, who set us free from having to prove ourselves and now calls us to bear fruit by serving one another in love.
The repair still needs some adjustment, and that can weigh on the mind. But remember that God’s work in us is often like that. He comes to set things right, and even when everything does not seem perfect at once, He faithfully returns. He does not abandon the work of His hands. Your patience with the process, and your desire to lift up this workman in prayer, shows a spirit that is already resting in God’s timing.
Let us pray for him now. Father, you see this man who gave his labor for free. You know his regular job and the demands on his schedule. Bless him, Lord, as you promised Abraham: “In blessing I will bless you.” Let your favor overtake him in his going out and coming in. Give him the wisdom to adjust what needs adjusting, and open the time he needs to come back soon. Let the repair be completed with joy, and let him know your pleasure over a heart that serves without charge.
And for you who wait, may the peace of Christ settle your spirit. Remind yourself that you are not bound to anxious thoughts. Jesus has set you free to trust Him in small things as well as great. His blessings flow not because everything runs flawlessly, but because you belong to Him. He will care for this need, just as He will care for you. Rest in that love.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
