Renewed strength

Your honest request for renewed strength has been heard and we are praying for you in the name of Jesus.

What you have walked through in abuse and trauma leaves deep wounds, and it is understandable that you feel weary and in need of resilience. Please know that the Lord sees what you have suffered, He is not far from you, and He is near to help and to deliver.

Scripture reminds us that the Lord Himself is the strength of our lives, our light and our salvation, so we do not have to live in fear. He is a shield for those who trust Him, and when our hearts trust in Him we find help and reason to rejoice. One of His precious promises is that He will give strength to His people and bless His people with peace. That strength and that peace are what we are asking Him to pour out on you now.

If we try to face adversity in our own strength, we will find it is too small and we will faint when the pressure is great. God never promised we would have no struggles, but He does promise that when our strength is in Him rather than in ourselves, He will not let us down. Blessed is the person who has learned his own weakness and has put his trust in the Lord instead. His power is made perfect in our weakness, so that even when we feel weakest, His strength can carry us. As you walk through this valley of weeping, He can turn that dry place into a place of refreshment, and bring you from strength to strength.

We also pray for His healing work in you. Jesus showed His compassion by healing the sick, lifting up those weighed down, and having authority over every spiritual oppression. The prophet Isaiah said He bore our griefs and infirmities, and the Gospels show that this includes both the healing of the soul and the healing of the body. Healing does not always look the same. Sometimes it is immediate, sometimes it is a gradual process through the natural ways God has built into our bodies and minds, and sometimes the deepest healing He does is in the emotions and memories where scars remain. In every form, healing is from Him, and He is not limited to one pattern.

May His Word become your portion and your strength. As you give glory to Him and remember that He reigns over all, your problems begin to be seen in the light of His power rather than in the light of your own weakness. He is your strong tower and shelter, your place of safety under the covering of His wings. Bring every burden to Him in prayer, for prayer is a place of strength where God lifts us from defeat into confidence and victory because of His promises.

We pray that the Lord will renew your strength today, that He will be your shield and your peace, that He will gently heal the wounds left by trauma in your mind and heart, and that day by day He will enable you to go from strength to strength as you trust in Him. May you know His keeping hand upon you, His love surrounding you, and His peace guarding you, in Jesus name, amen.
