Renewed strength

Asking for prayers for renewed strength and resilience to face ongoing struggles from abuse and trauma, in Jesus name amen

We join with you in asking our Heavenly Father for renewed strength and resilience as you continue to walk through the deep wounds of abuse and trauma, and we thank you for coming in the name of Jesus, for it is through Him that we have confidence to approach the throne of grace.

We know that what you have endured is not what God desires for His children. He sees the pain that has been inflicted upon you, He does not take abuse lightly, and He is close to those who suffer. The Lord is your refuge and your healer, and He understands the weight of a broken heart. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3.

When we feel weak and weary from ongoing struggles, God does not ask us to find strength within ourselves alone, but to receive it from Him. He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might Isaiah 40:29. Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. His promise is also that His grace is sufficient for us, for His power is made perfect in weakness 2 Corinthians 12:9, and we can do all things through Christ, who strengthens us Philippians 4:13.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. You know every memory, every wound, every night of struggle and every moment of fear that abuse and trauma have left behind. We ask You to pour out Your healing presence upon this heart. Bind up what has been broken, restore what has been stolen, and renew strength day by day. When weakness and exhaustion come, be the lifter of this head and the strength of these hands. Teach us to rest in Your grace and to find resilience not in our own striving but in Your unfailing love and power working within us. Surround this life with godly counsel, safe community, and wise support that honors You, and help this dear one to walk in the freedom and peace that You intend. Guard the heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and let hope rise again. We ask that You would make Your presence so real that fear loses its hold and Your perfect love casts it out. We pray all of this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to continue to bring every hurt honestly before the Lord in prayer, for He invites us to cast all our anxieties on Him because He cares for us 1 Peter 5:7. We also encourage you to remain rooted in His Word daily, even in small portions, and to stay connected to faithful believers who can walk with you, pray with you, and speak truth over you. If the effects of trauma feel overwhelming, we encourage you to seek godly and trustworthy counsel and support alongside your walk with Christ, for healing is often a journey that God works through both His Spirit and the help of others He provides. You are not forgotten and you are not alone. The Lord who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it, and He will give you strength for each step as you trust in Him.

Thank you for sharing this so honestly with us. Carrying the weight of abuse and trauma for a long time is exhausting, and asking for renewed strength is a brave and faithful thing to do.

We want you to know you are not forgotten in this. Resilience is not something you either have or you don't, and needing to lean on others does not mean you have failed. It is a process that grows over time, often in small steps, and God is intimately present in that process. One of the most protective things in that journey is not walking alone. Having even one safe, caring person who listens well and stays steady can make a real difference as you rebuild strength.

If you have not already, we gently encourage you to reach out to a trusted pastor or a Christian counselor who understands trauma, alongside prayer. They can walk with you personally and help you sort through what support and next steps would be most helpful for your safety and healing. If at any point you feel overwhelmed or unsafe, please reach out right away to someone you trust nearby.

We are praying for you and we will keep praying.

Father, we lift our friend to You right now. You see all they have carried and all they are still facing. We ask You to give them daily strength, quiet rest, and wise, kind people around them who will listen and support them well. Lead them to the help they need and remind them they are held by You. Give them hope for each next step. In Jesus' name, amen.

We have carried your request to the throne of grace and we join you in asking the Lord for renewed strength and resilience as you walk through the deep wounds of abuse and trauma.

The promise stands sure, they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. Human strength, even at its best, is derived strength and therefore measurable, and it will spend itself in due time. When the heart has been bruised and the spirit worn by long suffering, faintness must come to flesh and blood. But the strength of God is inexhaustible and eternal. He gives power to the faint, and to those who have no might He increases strength. It is for your honor and comfort and safety that you should be strong in the Lord, and He Himself has said, I will strengthen them in the Lord.

Know also that Jesus Christ is the great Physician for the broken heart. He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the very leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations. The least thing about Christ is healing. His leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. Pardon and healing are placed in happy conjunction in Him. When all your own strength fails you, your strength shall be to sit still while God arises and becomes your arm every morning, your salvation in the time of trouble.

How then shall this strength be renewed. By waiting upon the Lord. When there remains no strength in you, nor any ability of any kind, then fling yourself upon the Divine strength and lay hold upon it. Wait in prayer, wait in faith upon His Word, wait in quiet trust while He works. The glory of your strength must lie not in yourself, not in resolve alone, but in God Himself, who wisely and fitly imparts what you need.

We pray for you now. O Lord, look upon this wounded one who has endured abuse and trauma and now feels faint. Forgive, heal, and restore. Let the healing virtue of Christ touch the broken places of memory and heart. Where there is no might, do Thou increase strength. Teach this soul to wait upon Thee, to sit still before Thee, and to find Thee to be strength and righteousness. Renew strength as the eagle's, lift up the weary, and make the life to walk and not faint. Grant resilience not from within, but from Thy inexhaustible fullness, and let gratitude for Thy mercy lead to new life and peace. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only salvation and our healer. Amen.
