Renewed strength

Your request for renewed strength in the face of ongoing struggles from abuse and trauma has been heard, and I am praying for you.

What you have endured is grievous, and God does not take lightly the wounds that come from abuse. He sees the pain, the weariness, and the resilience it takes just to keep going each day. Scripture reminds us that God does not promise a life without adversity or hardship, but He does promise to be our strength within it.

The Psalms declare that the Lord is our light and our salvation, the strength of our lives, so we need not live in fear. He is a shield for those who trust Him, a strong tower and a shelter under whose wings we can find covering. When our hearts trust in Him, He helps us, and He gives strength to His people and blesses them with peace. That strength is not something we must manufacture from within ourselves. If we look only inward for strength, we will find it is not enough and we will faint in the day of adversity. But when our strength is in the Lord, He will not let us down. He will sustain us in the very place where our own strength fails, and His strength is made perfect in our weakness.

I pray that you will come to know in a deeper way that God Himself wants to be what you need in this season. He reveals Himself as the One who heals, the One who becomes our strength, our peace, and our salvation through Jesus Christ. Jesus bore our griefs and infirmities, and the Gospels show Him healing the sick, comforting the broken, and having authority over every spiritual and physical affliction. Healing is not confined to one pattern. Sometimes it comes instantly, sometimes it comes gradually through the very processes God has placed within our bodies and minds, and sometimes the deepest work is the healing He does in our emotions and memories, mending the scars and wounds that trauma leaves behind. Whatever form it takes, all true healing is from Him.

You can find strength by ascribing glory and power to the Lord and seeing your struggles in the light of His reign and His power, rather than in the light of your own weakness. Let His Word become your portion and your stay. As you bring every burden to Him in prayer, that place of prayer itself becomes a place of strength, where fear is replaced with confidence and defeat is turned toward victory because of His promises. There is a blessing for the one whose strength is in the Lord. Even when passing through valleys of weeping and sorrow, that person finds God turning those dry places into wells of refreshment, going from strength to strength as they walk with Him.

May the Lord be near to you now. May He lift you up, keep you under His care, and give you renewed strength for each day. May He heal the wounds left by abuse, bring peace to your heart and mind, and surround you with His protection. May His Word strengthen you and His presence assure you that you are not alone and not forgotten. I ask this in the name of Jesus, who is our healer, our shield, and the saving strength of His people. Amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf for renewed strength and resilience as you face ongoing struggles from abuse and trauma. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer during this difficult season. We have continued to lift you up before the Lord, asking Him to bring healing to the wounds left by abuse and trauma, to restore your strength day by day and to grant you resilience and peace in His presence. We cling to His promise in Isaiah 40:29 that He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak, and in Isaiah 41:10 that He will strengthen you and uphold you with His righteous right hand.

We pray that our Heavenly Father will surround you with His comfort, cover you with His grace, renew your strength and give you courage and resilience for each step forward, and help you feel His nearness and love in a deep and healing way. We ask this in Jesus name, amen.

If your request was answered and you have experienced renewed strength, please post a praise report and let us all know how God has worked in your life. If your request does not seem to have been answered and you are still facing these ongoing struggles, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.
