We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear soul who is carrying the weight of past abuse and trauma. The pain you have endured is real, and the journey toward healing is not an easy one. But we serve a God who is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Your cry for renewed strength and resilience has been heard, and we join with you in seeking the Lord’s restoration.
Father God, we ask You to pour out Your healing balm upon this precious one. Where there is weakness, strengthen them with Your might. Where there is fear, replace it with Your perfect love that casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). Where the enemy has sought to steal, kill, and destroy, we declare that Jesus came that they may have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). Lord, we rebuke the lies of the enemy that have taken root in their mind, lies that say they are unworthy, damaged, or beyond repair. We speak truth over them: they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, and deeply loved by You.
We pray for resilience, not in their own strength, but in the power of Your Holy Spirit. Remind them daily that Your grace is sufficient, and Your power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). When the memories resurface and the pain feels overwhelming, be their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Surround them with godly community, believers who will speak life, pray without ceasing, and walk alongside them in this season.
Lord, we also ask for wisdom for those who are supporting them. Give counselors, pastors, and loved ones discernment to speak words of truth and encouragement, not platitudes or empty comfort. Help them to point this dear one back to You, the Author and Perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2).
Above all, we pray that You would be their strength. When they are weary, carry them. When they stumble, lift them up. When the road ahead feels too long, remind them that You are the God who goes before them and will never leave nor forsake them (Deuteronomy 31:8). May they find their hope and their healing in You alone.
In the mighty name of Jesus, the One who bore our sorrows and carried our griefs, we pray. Amen.
