We lift you up before the throne of grace, dear brother or sister in Christ, knowing that the weight of past abuse and trauma can feel unbearable at times. The scars—visible and invisible—may still ache, but we stand with you in faith, declaring that the Lord is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). You are not alone in this battle, for the God who created you also sustains you, and His strength is made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).
The enemy may whisper lies that you are broken beyond repair, but we rebuke those deceitful words in the mighty name of Jesus. You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and the Lord has not forgotten you. He collects every tear in His bottle and records every sorrow in His book (Psalm 56:8). Your pain is seen, your cries are heard, and your healing is His promise.
We pray that the Holy Spirit would fill you afresh, renewing your strength like the eagle’s (Isaiah 40:31). May you rise above the exhaustion and despair, mounting up on wings of faith, running without weariness, and walking without fainting. Let the peace of Christ, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind (Philippians 4:7). May His love wash over you like a healing balm, restoring what was stolen and renewing what was broken.
Father God, we ask that You break every chain of trauma that seeks to hold this precious one captive. Replace their fear with Your perfect love (1 John 4:18), their shame with Your righteousness, and their sorrow with joy unspeakable (1 Peter 1:8). Surround them with godly counsel and fellowship, that they may be encouraged and strengthened in You. Teach them to cast every burden upon You, for You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). Let them find rest in Your presence and hope in Your promises.
We also pray for wisdom and discernment as they navigate relationships and boundaries. May they seek godly friendships and community that uplift and edify, avoiding any that would lead them back into bondage. Guard their heart from bitterness and unforgiveness, for these only poison the soul. Instead, fill them with Your Spirit, that they may extend grace as they have received it (Ephesians 4:32).
Lord, we declare that this season of struggle is not the end of their story. You are the God who turns ashes into beauty, mourning into gladness, and despair into praise (Isaiah 61:3). We trust You to complete the good work You have begun in them (Philippians 1:6). Strengthen their faith, deepen their trust in You, and let them walk in the fullness of the freedom You died to give them.
In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
