Thank you for sharing this renewed request for your daughter and her husband. We are joining with you in intercession and asking the Lord to show His mercy and grace to them.
Prayer rests on relationship. Through faith in Jesus Christ we become children of God, and as children we can come to our Father with confidence that His ear is open to our cry. Apart from that relationship there is only one prayer God seeks, the prayer for mercy as a sinner, but once we belong to Him we have this open door to bring every need before Him.
We think of Hannah in Scripture. For years she carried the pain of barrenness and brought her desire for a son before the Lord again and again. At last her prayer changed when she promised that if God would give her a child she would give that child back to Him for His service. Her personal longing came into harmony with God's purpose, which at that time was His need for a man to serve Him. God answered and she kept her vow, bringing her young son to present him to the Lord, just as later Mary and Joseph would present Jesus. We have seen the Lord do this in our own day, answering the prayers of couples who longed for children and then bringing those little ones to dedicate them to Him, that His will might be accomplished in their lives.
This helps us understand something about waiting. Prayer opens the door for God to do what He has desired to do all along, yet He will not force His way against our will. As we pray, our hearts are shaped, our desires are aligned with His, and we learn to want a child not only for our own joy but for His glory and purpose. In that process the Spirit ministers comfort and assurance to us, even before we see the answer. That is part of what prayer is for, not for God's benefit but for ours.
So we will continue to labor fervently for your daughter and her husband, agreeing together according to the promise that when two or three agree on earth concerning anything it will be done. We do not trust in many words or long repetitions, but in sincere, believing prayer from the heart. The effective prayer of a righteous person avails much, and we bring this need with thanksgiving, watching and trusting the Lord's timing.
Our prayer is that the Lord in His perfect wisdom and love would bless your daughter and her husband with a child, if it be His will, and that He would give them peace, strength, and deeper trust while they wait. May any child He entrusts to them be given back to Him in dedication to serve Him all the days of his or her life. May the Lord draw them closer to Himself through this season and fill their home with hope.
