Renewed Prayer

Disciple of Prayer
I am here requesting continued prayer for my daughter and son in law that God will bless them with a child in the name of Jesus.

We join you in continued prayer for your daughter and son-in-law and we thank God for their marriage, for marriage between a man and a woman is honorable and ordained by God to reflect His covenant love and to be fruitful. We know the deep longing of the heart for a child and we bring this desire before the Lord together with you, trusting in His goodness and His perfect timing.

The Scripture reminds us that children are a precious gift from the Lord. Psalm 127:3 says, Behold, children are a heritage of Yahweh. The fruit of the womb is his reward. And Psalm 113:9 says, He settles the barren woman in her home as a joyful mother of children. We remember how God remembered Rachel and listened to her and opened her womb in Genesis 30:22, and how Hannah prayed and the Lord answered, as she declared in 1 Samuel 1:27, For this child I prayed, and Yahweh has given me my petition which I asked of him. We serve the same God who is able to do abundantly more than we ask, and whose will is perfect and loving toward His children. Jeremiah 29:11 says, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.

We also rejoice that you have asked this in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that our prayers are heard. John 14:13 says, Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. There is no other name by which we are saved and by which we approach the throne of grace with confidence.

Let us pray together.

Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus and we lift up this daughter and son-in-law to You. We thank You for their marriage and for knitting them together as one flesh according to Your design. We ask that if it is Your will, You would bless their union with the gift of a child. Lord, You open and close the womb, You knit together life in its secret place, and we ask You to touch her body, to grant health and fruitfulness, and to give them peace as they wait upon You. We pray You would guard their hearts from discouragement and fill them with hope, patience, and joy in You. Let them delight themselves in You and trust that You hear every prayer. We pray that whatever the outcome, their marriage would be strengthened, their faith deepened, and their lives would bring glory to You. We cast all their anxiety upon You because You care for them, and we ask for Your comfort and assurance to surround this whole family. We ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.

We encourage you to continue steadfast in prayer and not lose heart, for Luke 18:1 teaches us that we ought always to pray and not to faint. Philippians 4:6-7 says, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We stand with you, trusting that God is faithful, that He hears, and that He will answer according to His perfect love and wisdom.

We are grateful you came back to share this again, and we are standing with you in prayer for your daughter and son in law and their longing for a child.

We can hear how much you love them and how deeply you want to see God bless their marriage in this way. Waiting and hoping month after month can be heavy for a couple, and it can be heavy for a parent who carries this burden to the Lord on their behalf. Your faithful intercession for them matters, and we are honored to join you in it.

We are bringing them before the Lord with you, asking for His care over them, His peace in the waiting, and His wisdom for each step ahead. A gentle way to support them, if they are open to it, is to let them lead how much they want to share and simply remind them you are praying and you love them no matter what. That steady, unpressured presence often means more than finding perfect words.

If medical questions come up along the way, encourage them to talk with a trusted doctor alongside seeking the Lord, so they have both prayer and good counsel.

Father, we lift this daughter and son in law to You. You know their desire for a child and You love them deeply. We ask for Your comfort and nearness to them and to the parent who prays so faithfully for them. Give them wisdom for decisions, strength for today, and trust in Your good and loving will. We ask this in the name of Jesus, amen.

Your renewed prayer has been heard and we join with you in bringing your daughter and her husband before the throne of grace, asking the Lord in the name of Jesus to bless their union with the gift of a child if it be His gracious will.

It is right and good to pray thus, for children are a heritage of the Lord and the fruit of the womb is His reward. Where He has joined a man and a woman together in the lifelong covenant of marriage, we may boldly ask Him to crown that union with life. We do not come with any reliance upon our own excellence, but we beg for grace and plead for mercy, for upon no other terms but those of grace can the Lord meet with us. Yet we have a name to plead, for He has a name for pardoning iniquity and for showing mercy, and like as a father pities his children, so the Lord pities them that fear Him. He knows our frame, He remembers that we are dust.

Take comfort in that blessed promise which the Lord gives to His mourning people, I will pour my Spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring. Our children need the Spirit of God, and you are not to expect merely faint traces of grace, but in the strength of this promise you may look for great things. Behold, I and the children whom the Lord hath given me are for signs and for wonders from the Lord of hosts. What a delight it is to the heart of Christ to say, I and the children. He is gratified with them and we may be confident that He hears the prayer of a parent and grandparent offered in faith.

Therefore let us be businesslike at the mercy seat and stir ourselves to this gracious privilege. Elijah bowed his knee on the top of Carmel and prayed for rain and looked for the answer till it came. It is ours, but our God sees fit to reserve it for a season for a further trial of our faith. Look for the answer. You would not treat the mercy seat as though it were a place for boys to play at. Come humbly, for the Holy Spirit never puffs us up with pride, and pray in the Holy Spirit, multiplied in intercession for others lest we make prayer a place for spiritual selfishness. Let your sense of the poverty of your prayers lead you to abhor your faults, but not to abhor praying.

We will continue to pray and to set a watch with you, guarding the faith and waiting upon the Lord together. May He in His wisdom and tender dealing, as a nurse with her child, lead you step by step and not chide you for your many anxieties, but give you undisturbed devotion as you draw near to Him.

We now plead together, Our Father, in the name of Thy dear Son Jesus Christ, remember this daughter and her husband. Thou who didst form the family and ordain marriage, look upon them in mercy. If it please Thee, open the womb and grant them a child to be raised in Thy fear and for Thy glory, that they may teach him or her Thy Word and train the child in Thy way. Give them patience to wait upon Thee, faith to trust Thy goodness, and contentment to rest in Thy will, whatever it be. Pour Thy Spirit upon their seed and let any child Thou givest be Thine, for signs and for wonders in Israel. We ask this not for our merit but for Thy name sake, and for the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

We will keep this matter before the Lord with you. Continue to seek Him, to read His Word, and to draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
