Scripture tells us, *"Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others"* (Philippians 2:4 WEB). If these meetings or visits involve fellowship, discipleship, or ministry—even if they feel burdensome—they may serve a greater purpose in building up the body of Christ or encouraging others in their faith. However, if these gatherings are not aligned with God’s purposes or are causing undue stress without spiritual benefit, it may be time to prayerfully reconsider their necessity.
We must also examine our hearts in this matter. Are we seeking to avoid these commitments out of selfishness, or is there a legitimate need for rest and focus on other godly priorities? Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
