Your heart’s cry to be free from all magic and to be truly connected with yourself is the deep longing of someone who knows what bondage feels like. When something outside of you seems to hold influence or control, it creates a kind of fracture, a separation from the person God created you to be. That sense of needing to be “connected with myself” is a real and honest way to describe the wholeness that only genuine freedom can bring.
The world often offers a counterfeit freedom that promises power or insight, but in the end it only tightens the chains. What starts as a search for liberation through spiritual practices, even things some call “white magic,” becomes a snare. Those doors open a person to influences that do not lead toward peace and wholeness, but toward fear and fragmentation. True freedom is never found by submitting to another master, even a hidden one. Jesus put it plainly: whoever commits sin becomes a slave to it. Whatever overcomes a person brings them into bondage. When you reach out for help, you are recognizing that slavery is not your intended state.
Real freedom is breathtakingly different. It is not simply the ability to do something. It is the power not to do it. Many people exercise their liberty in a direction that robs them of all liberty. They choose to indulge a desire, to explore a spiritual path, and soon find they have lost the very freedom they thought they were gaining. The thing they were free to do now controls them, and the “freedom to” becomes a desperate “need to.” I have learned to love and guard my freedom because I know how easily it can be sacrificed on the altar of a seemingly harmless choice. I love the freedom not to be mastered by anything, not to be pushed by hidden compulsions.
Your prayer to have all magic removed is a prayer to be released from what the Scriptures call the bondage of corruption. What you are sensing is the weight of something that does not belong in a life created for God. Jesus came to open the prison doors for those who are bound. He is the Deliverer. He is the truth that makes us free. Seeking merely a removal, an emptiness where the dark power once was, is not enough. That empty place must be filled and replaced by the Spirit of God. Deliverance alone can leave a person worse off if the Deliverer does not take up full residence. The goal is not just to be rid of a thing, but to be joined to a Person.
The right help you are looking for is not found in another practitioner or a new technique. That would be exchanging one set of chains for another. The right help is found in the One who has already broken the power of darkness. Like Israel coming out of Egypt, you are being called out from under a harsh master. Pharaoh is a picture of Satan, seeking to hold people in bitter slavery. The Red Sea is a picture of leaving that old life entirely behind, stepping into a new covenant with God where the former master has no claim. You are not under bondage to remain in that house any longer.
You may feel tangled and disconnected, but the truth of Jesus Christ cuts through every lie and every spirit that is not from Him. His word has the power to restore your soul and bring you back into alignment with who you were always meant to be. You are not looking for a part of yourself that is lost in the darkness; you are looking to be found in Him. Bring all of it to Jesus. He will not only take the magic away; He will give you Himself, and in Him, you will find the freedom, the peace, and the solid connection to your true self that you have been longing for.
