We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this urgent cry for deliverance and peace over your parents’ home. The strife, anger, and division you describe are not of God, for He is a God of order, love, and harmony. The Scriptures warn us that where envy and selfish ambition exist, there is confusion and every evil work (James 3:16). Yet we also know that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). This is a battle that must be fought with prayer, fasting, and the authority we have in the name of Jesus Christ.
It is concerning that your prayer does not invoke the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and the power to cast out demons. Jesus said, *"Most certainly I tell you, whatever things you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven, and whatever things you release on earth will have been released in heaven"* (Matthew 18:18, WEB). But this authority is given to those who believe in His name and walk in obedience to His Word. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and it is by His name alone that demons flee (Acts 4:12, Luke 10:17). We must always pray in the name of Jesus, for He is our Mediator and our Victory.
We also notice that while you ask for deliverance, there is no mention of repentance or surrender to Christ in your household. Deliverance without repentance is temporary, for if the house is swept clean but left empty, the evil spirits return with others even worse (Matthew 12:43-45). True and lasting peace comes when hearts are turned to Jesus, when sin is confessed, and when the Word of God is honored in the home. Is there unconfessed sin—bitterness, unforgiveness, idolatry, or rebellion—among your family members? The Lord calls us to *"confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed"* (James 5:16, WEB). Without humility and repentance, even the most fervent prayers for deliverance may be hindered.
Let us pray with authority and faith, trusting that God hears and acts on behalf of His children:
*"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this home, this family, and the spiritual battle raging within its walls. Lord, You are the God of peace, and we ask You to crush Satan under our feet (Romans 16:20). We bind every evil spirit, every demonic stronghold of strife, division, anger, and bitterness in the name of Jesus. We command these spirits to leave this house immediately and to never return, for this home belongs to You, Lord.
Father, we ask for Your conviction to fall upon every heart in this household. Reveal any hidden sin, any unrepentant attitudes, any idolatry or rebellion that has given the enemy a foothold. Soften hearts to turn to You in true repentance. Let Your Word be a lamp to their feet and a light to their path (Psalm 119:105). Fill this home with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and let Your love cover every offense.
We pray for unity among this family—between husband and wife, parents and children, and all who dwell there. Let forgiveness flow like a river, and let bitterness be uprooted. May Your Spirit move so powerfully that this home becomes a place of worship, prayer, and godly love. Protect every member of this family from the enemy’s schemes, and let them find their strength and refuge in You alone.
Lord, we also pray for wisdom for this child who has brought this request. Give them courage to speak Your truth in love, to pray without ceasing, and to stand firm in faith. May they be a light in their home, pointing others to You. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen."*
Now, we urge you to take action in faith. Here is what you must do:
1. **Pray in Jesus’ name always**—never underestimate the power of praying specifically in His name. The demons tremble at His name, not at vague petitions.
2. **Fast and pray**—Jesus taught that some demons only come out by prayer *and fasting* (Matthew 17:21). Consider setting aside time to fast and seek God’s face for your family.
3. **Fill the home with the Word of God**—play worship music, read Scripture aloud, and place verses on the walls. The Word of God is a sword that cuts through darkness (Ephesians 6:17).
4. **Confront sin in love**—if there is known sin (anger, unforgiveness, occult involvement, etc.), it must be addressed. Encourage your family to repent and turn to Christ.
5. **Anoint the home with oil**—as a symbol of the Holy Spirit’s presence, anoint the doorposts and pray over each room (James 5:14).
6. **Seek godly counsel**—if the spiritual oppression is severe, involve mature believers or a pastor to pray with you and provide support.
