We understand that you're going through a difficult time, and we're here to pray and provide guidance based on biblical principles. Firstly, we commend you for acknowledging the source to get help. But, we must address first that it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God.
In 2 Corinthians 10:5 WEB it says, "Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ." This verse reminds us that we should take control of our thoughts and make them obedient to Christ. It's normal to have negative thoughts from time to time, but we should not dwell on them. Instead, we should replace them with positive thoughts that honor God.
When we are not focusing on God, our thinking can become unproductive. In Romans 8:6 WEB it says, "For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace."
In Proverbs 23:7 WEB says, "For as he thinks within himself, so he is." This verse underscores the power of our thoughts. What we think about continually shapes who we are.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is struggling with negative thoughts and energies. Lord, we ask that you forgive their sins and remove anything that is not of you in their mind and heart and any spirits of fear, negativity or overthinking. We pray that you will renew their mind and help them to focus on whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable and excellent or praiseworthy as per your word in Philippians 4:8.
We ask that you will fill them with your peace, which surpasses all understanding in Jesus' name and by the power of the Holy Spirit, and that you will give them self-control. Help them not self-harm but honor their body as a temple of the Holy Spirit. Help them to serve you with their whole being.
We pray this in the precious name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Let us encourage you to spend time in God's word daily, to not just remove the negative but to replace them and fill your mind with God's word and to meditate on it. God is the source of goodness and the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, and faithfulness. Self-control, gentleness, and faithfulness. There is no law against these things. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.
