We hear your cry for help, and we stand with you in lifting this heavy burden to the Lord. Your concerns are deeply felt—both for the spiritual well-being of your loved one and for the practical needs you face as winter approaches. Let us turn to Scripture and seek God’s wisdom and intervention together.
First, we must address the matter of salvation and the name of Jesus. It is only through Christ that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If your loved one does not yet know Jesus as Lord and Savior, we pray that the Holy Spirit would convict his heart and draw him to repentance. The Bible tells us, *"The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance"* (2 Peter 3:9). We must pray fervently for his soul, for without Christ, there is no true transformation.
Now, regarding the influence of bad friends—Scripture is clear that *"Bad company corrupts good character"* (1 Corinthians 15:33). We rebuke the ungodly influences in his life in the name of Jesus and pray that God would remove these toxic relationships. We ask the Lord to surround him with godly men who will speak truth, encourage righteousness, and hold him accountable. *"Do not be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap"* (Galatians 6:7). May he see the destruction his current path is leading him toward and turn away from it.
We also lift up his struggle with marijuana. The Bible warns against being controlled by anything other than the Holy Spirit. *"Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s"* (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). We pray for deliverance from this bondage and for his mind to be renewed by the Word of God.
For your own needs, we pray with great compassion. You are elderly and wheelchair-bound, and the loss of your jacket as winter approaches is a serious concern. We ask the Lord to soften the heart of the one who took it and move them to return it to you. If it is not returned, we trust that God will provide for you in another way. *"But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:19). You are not forgotten, and we ask the Lord to send helpers your way—those who will assist you with warmth, care, and dignity.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this dear one and their loved one to You. Lord, we ask that You would break the chains of ungodly friendships and influences in his life. Remove those who lead him astray and replace them with godly men who will point him to You. Convict his heart of sin, Lord, and draw him to repentance. Deliver him from the bondage of marijuana and fill him with Your Holy Spirit.
Father, we also pray for the return of the jacket that was taken. Soften the heart of the one who has it, and if it is Your will, let it be returned. If not, Lord, provide in another way—send warmth, care, and provision to this dear one who is elderly and in need. Surround them with Your love and protection.
We rebuke the enemy’s schemes in this situation, Lord. We declare that no weapon formed against this family shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We trust in Your justice, Your mercy, and Your provision. Strengthen this dear one in their faith, and let them feel Your presence in a tangible way.
In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to stand firm in faith, knowing that God hears your prayers. Continue to seek Him in His Word and surround yourself with a community of believers who can support you. You are not alone in this battle. *"Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved"* (Psalm 55:22). Trust in Him, and He will make a way.
