relief of pain

We join with you in lifting up this precious dear woman who is bedridden and suffering with extreme back pain, and we bring her before our Heavenly Father together in Jesus' name.

We know how wearying and overwhelming constant pain can be, especially when it confines one to bed and limits strength and hope. We are reminded that our God sees her suffering and is full of compassion. Psalm 147:3 tells us He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. And Psalm 103:2-3 says Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. Our Lord Jesus understands our infirmities and invites the weary to find rest in Him, as He says in Matthew 11:28, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.

We also noticed that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently share why this is so important to us. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 reminds us, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is because Jesus died for our sins and rose again that we can boldly come to God in prayer for healing, forgiveness, and eternal life. If we have not yet put our trust in Him, we encourage you and this dear woman to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, confess Him as Lord, and trust in His finished work on the cross for salvation.

Let us pray together.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne of grace in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, Your Son. We lift up this dear woman to You and ask for Your mercy and compassion upon her. You know her age, You know every detail of her back pain, every sleepless night, every tear, and every moment of being bedridden. Lord, we ask that You would lay Your healing hand upon her and grant her relief from this extreme pain. We pray that You would ease her suffering, restore strength to her back and body, and give her rest and comfort. We ask that You would guide any doctors, caregivers, and loved ones who are caring for her, and give them wisdom to help her. Above all, we pray for Your peace to guard her heart and mind, that even in this trial she would feel Your presence near. We remember Your promise in Jeremiah 30:17, For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. And we cling to Isaiah 53:5, But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. If it is Your will to heal her completely, we ask for that healing, and if You allow this trial to continue for a season, we pray Your grace will be sufficient, for You have said in 2 Corinthians 12:9, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. We pray that she would know the hope of eternal life through Jesus, and that she would be comforted knowing that You love her with an everlasting love. We ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Healer and our Hope, amen.

We encourage you to continue to pray for her, to read Scripture over her, and to ensure she receives good medical care as God often works through the hands of physicians. James 5:14-15 says Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. Continue to call upon the Lord, trust in His goodness, and keep bringing her needs before Him. He hears the prayers of His people and He is faithful.

Thank you for bringing her to us in prayer. Hearing that she is bedridden with such severe back pain is heavy, and we can imagine how helpless it can feel to watch someone you care about suffer and not be able to ease it yourself.

Long seasons of pain wear down more than the body. Sleep, mood and hope all get strained, and even small setbacks can feel huge when every day is already hard. You did the right thing to bring her before the Lord and to ask others to stand with you. She is not forgotten, and neither are you as you carry this concern for her.

If she is not already being seen regularly, we gently encourage making sure her medical team knows just how severe the pain is right now, so they can assess her comfort and care alongside our prayers. Staying close, keeping her company, and letting her know she is loved in that bed also matters more than we often realize.

Father, we lift this woman to you in Jesus name. You see her lying there and you know every ache. We ask for your mercy to ease her pain, for rest where there has been distress, and for wisdom and compassion for those caring for her. Hold her in your peace and remind her she is loved and not alone. Amen.

Your request concerning this aged and afflicted woman has been heard, and we carry her case with tenderness before the Lord who heareth prayer.

One of the worst ills that can happen in this life is such bodily suffering, for when pain takes hold the light is dark in the tabernacle and gold itself is cold and cheerless. To be bedridden and racked with extreme pain of the back is a sore trial, and we are moved with compassion for her.

We remember that our Lord Jesus Christ is not a stranger to suffering. He Himself has suffered being tempted, and therefore He knoweth how to succour them that suffer. He was made perfect through sufferings, not in character for He was ever perfect, but as the Captain of our salvation, that He might be touched with the feeling of our infirmities. There was no rebellion in His suffering, and He drank the cup to the full, that He might understand the pain of His people and have a tender temper to cheer those that are afflicted. He obtained that sympathy through suffering, and now He lives to apply its healing virtue.

We rejoice to know that there is healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. His fruit is sweet and nourishing, and even the leaves of the Tree of Life are for the healing of the nations. The least thing about Christ is healing, and those leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. In this present life He gives healing and pardon in happy conjunction, and in the world to come it is promised that there shall be no more pain, for the former things are passed away.

We therefore pray the Lord to look in mercy upon this suffering sister. O Lord, Thou Sun of Righteousness, arise upon her with healing in Thy wings. Lay Thy pardoning and healing hand upon her, and if it be Thy gracious will, give relief from this extreme pain and raise her from this bed of languishing. Ease her body, quiet her spirit, and let her feel Thy presence in the chamber of affliction. Sustain those who tend her, and give them wisdom and gentleness. And whether Thou seest fit to grant present ease or to keep her yet a little while in the furnace, let her know that her pain is not unmarked by Thee, that Thou art nigh unto them that are of a broken heart, and that Thy grace is sufficient for her. Prepare her, and us all, for that blessed place where sickness and sorrow are banished and Thy people are without spot or wrinkle.

We commend her to Thy long suffering and tender mercy, trusting not in our worthiness but in the sufferings of Thy dear Son, who bore our sicknesses and carried our sorrows. Hear us for His sake. Amen.

Father, humbly ask for Your power to intervene. Please meet deepest spiritual, physical, emotional, financial needs according to Your Will and timing in Jesus Name Amen
