Disciple of Prayer
Brothers and sisters in Christ and believers in Christ I humbly ask for your prayers against depression that’s altering my quality of life. Daily I’m depressed, no longer interested in very much and just want to spend my time sleeping so that I don’t have to feel the gloom and mystery that comes with depression. I pray that this depressed spirit be lifted immediately and never to return. I also pray that ### and family understand what I’m going through and not add to this burdensome situation with negative talk and actions. Some days it’s more difficult to hold on to sanity and maintain self control. My spouse doesn’t understand and is the greatest contributor to my depression everything he’s really just being himself and not really intending to cause me any harm but to me he’s my burden and I just don’t know who to make everything right.

Please help in prayer of keeping my spirits lifted, ability to be happy and energetic and removal of all things that causes me burdens and stress, in Christ Jesus name, Amen.

We hear your cry for help, dear brother or sister in Christ, and we lift you up before the throne of grace with heavy hearts. Depression is a very real and debilitating struggle, and we want you to know that you are not alone in this battle. The weight you carry is heavy, and we stand with you, interceding on your behalf, asking the Lord to bring relief, comfort, and healing to your mind, body, and spirit.

First, we must address the name by which we pray. Your request closes in the name of Christ Jesus, and this is the only name by which we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Jesus Christ is our mediator, our advocate, and our healer. It is through His sacrifice on the cross that we can approach God with confidence, knowing that He hears us and cares for us deeply. We pray that you would draw near to Him, for He promises, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28).

Depression can make it difficult to see the light of God’s love, but we declare over you that the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We rebuke the spirit of heaviness that has settled over you, and we command it to leave in the mighty name of Jesus. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We pray that the Lord would break every chain of despair, hopelessness, and isolation that the enemy has used to bind you.

We also lift up your marriage before the Lord, for it is clear that this relationship has become a source of deep pain and burden for you. The Bible tells us that marriage is a sacred covenant, a reflection of Christ’s love for the church (Ephesians 5:22-33). It is meant to be a partnership of mutual love, respect, and support. However, we recognize that your spouse’s actions—though perhaps not intentionally harmful—have contributed significantly to your suffering. We pray that the Lord would soften your spouse’s heart and grant them wisdom and compassion to understand the depth of your struggle. May they seek the Lord’s guidance in how to love and support you as Christ loves the church.

At the same time, we must gently address the weight of unforgiveness or resentment that may be taking root in your heart. The Bible is clear that we are to forgive others as Christ has forgiven us (Colossians 3:13). Holding onto bitterness and anger will only deepen your pain and hinder your healing. We encourage you to release your spouse—and anyone else who has hurt you—into the Lord’s hands. This does not mean excusing their behavior, but it does mean trusting God to be your defender and healer. Pray for your spouse, even when it is difficult, for the Lord commands us to bless those who curse us and pray for those who mistreat us (Luke 6:28).

We also want to encourage you to seek godly counsel and support. Depression often isolates us, but the Lord has placed people in our lives to walk alongside us. Proverbs 11:14 tells us, "Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety." Consider reaching out to a pastor, a Christian counselor, or a trusted friend who can offer biblical wisdom and prayer. You do not have to carry this burden alone.

Additionally, we pray for your physical and emotional well-being. Depression can drain your energy and motivation, but we ask the Lord to renew your strength like the eagle’s (Isaiah 40:31). We pray that He would restore your joy, your purpose, and your desire to engage with life again. The psalmist cried out, "Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God" (Psalm 42:11). We declare that same hope over you today.

We also rebuke any lies the enemy may be speaking over you—lies that you are alone, that your situation will never change, or that God has abandoned you. The truth is that God is with you, even in the darkest valleys (Psalm 23:4). He sees your tears, hears your cries, and collects every one of them in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). You are precious to Him, and He has a plan for your life, a plan for hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our dear brother or sister who is struggling under the weight of depression. Lord, You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who heals. We ask that You would break the chains of despair that have bound them and lift the spirit of heaviness that has settled over their life. Replace their sorrow with Your joy, their hopelessness with Your peace, and their exhaustion with Your strength.

Father, we pray for their marriage. Soften the heart of their spouse, Lord, and grant them wisdom and compassion to understand the pain their words and actions have caused. Help them to see the need for change and to seek Your guidance in loving their spouse as Christ loves the church. We also ask that You would heal any bitterness or unforgiveness in our brother or sister’s heart. Help them to release their spouse—and anyone else who has hurt them—into Your hands, trusting You to be their defender and healer.

Lord, we ask that You would surround them with godly counsel and support. Bring people into their life who can speak truth, offer encouragement, and walk alongside them in this difficult season. Renew their strength, restore their joy, and help them to see the purpose You have for their life.

We rebuke the lies of the enemy in Jesus’ name. We declare that our brother or sister is not alone, that their situation will change, and that You have not abandoned them. You are with them, even in the darkest valleys, and You are working all things together for their good.

Thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness and Your love. We trust You to bring healing, restoration, and hope to their life. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Hold fast to the promises of God, dear one. This season will not last forever. The Lord is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Keep pressing into Him, and He will lift you up. You are deeply loved, and we will continue to stand with you in prayer.

Dear friend, we're here with you, feeling your burden and lifting it up to the Lord. We know depression can feel like a heavy, dark cloud, but remember, even the darkest clouds have a silver lining. Jesus sees you, He hears you, and He's right there with you.

We want to encourage you to reach out to a trusted friend, a pastor, or a Christian counselor. Sometimes, talking it out with someone who understands and cares can make a world of difference.

We're here for you, praying for you, and believing with you that things will get better. Keep holding on, dear one, because the Lord is with you, and He's not going anywhere. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer during this heavy season. It has been on our hearts to lift you before the Lord daily, asking Him to lift the weight of depression from your spirit and restore joy and energy to your days. We’ve prayed specifically that the Lord would surround you with His peace, that He would help your family understand the depth of your struggle, and that He would soften hearts—especially your spouse’s—to bring compassion and support rather than added burden.

If the Lord has answered these prayers in any way—whether through moments of unexpected lightness, a shift in your spouse’s response, or simply the strength to face another day—we would be so encouraged to hear your praise report. Your testimony could be a blessing to others walking a similar path.

If, however, the heaviness remains and you still feel overwhelmed, please don’t hesitate to post this request again. We are committed to continuing in prayer with you, asking the Lord to break the chains of depression, to renew your mind, and to fill you with His hope. We also pray for wisdom for you—for discernment in how to communicate your needs and for courage to seek help if the Lord leads you that way.

May the Father draw near to you in this time, reminding you of His love and His promise to never leave you. May He lift your eyes to see His hand at work, even in small ways, and may He grant you the grace to hold fast to Him. We continue to stand in agreement with you, trusting in His faithfulness. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
