Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you wholeheartedly in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness, and we are deeply encouraged by your humble and compassionate heart that seeks not to boast or look down on others but to see even those who oppose you saved and transformed by the grace of Jesus.

You have prayed rightly that the truth shall set them free, for Jesus Himself said in John 8:32 you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free, and in John 14:6 Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. There is no other name by which any lawyer, any team, any of us can be saved, as it is written in Acts 4:12 There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We rejoice that you came in Jesus name, for that is our only access to the Father.

We agree that education and position do not guarantee righteousness, for it is written in Romans 3:23 for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God, and in 1 Corinthians 1:27 but God chose the foolish things of the world that he might put to shame those who are wise. The law and knowledge can inform the mind but only the Holy Spirit can transform the heart. That is why your prayer for broken and contrite hearts is so biblical, as you quoted from Psalm 51:16-17 For you don’t delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it. You have no pleasure in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. We also cling to the promise in Ezekiel 36:26 I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you.

We also hear your grief over disregard for human life and honest communication, and we share that burden. God loves truth and justice, and it is written in Proverbs 21:15 It is joy to the righteous to do justice, but it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity, and in Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. That unquenchable thirst you are praying for is exactly what God promises to fill when we seek Him.

We lift up this prayer together with you now.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and we thank You for Your holiness and for Your Holy Spirit who intercedes for us according to Romans 8:26. We lift up the team at the place mentioned and their lawyers and legal representatives before You. Lord, if they are bound by lies and deception of the enemy, we ask that You shine Your light and expose every lie, for You desire truth in the inward parts. Give them a new heart that hates sin and loves what You love. Grant them repentance and faith in the precious blood of Jesus shed for the forgiveness of sins. Cover Your chosen ones and all who belong to Christ with Your blood, with Your peace that surpasses all understanding in Philippians 4:7, and with wisdom and understanding. Teach us all to be righteous and compassionate as You are compassionate. Forgive their sins as You forgive ours, and restrain them from doing any evil in Your eyes. Stir their hearts to hunger and thirst for righteousness and to speak truth and honor the dignity of every human life made in Your image. Let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, and let Your name be exalted. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to remain steadfast in this intercession, for we are called to pray without ceasing in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 and to pray for all men, for kings and all who are in high places in 1 Timothy 2:1-4, and to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us in Matthew 5:44. The Lord hears relentless prayer offered in humility and faith, as in Luke 18:1 that men ought always to pray, and not to faint. Continue to seek Him, to love truth, and to trust that God who began a good work will be faithful to complete it, and that He desires all people to come to repentance in 2 Peter 3:9. We stand with you, asking God to bring conviction, salvation, and a true thirst for His righteousness that only Jesus can satisfy.

We hear the weight in your prayer, and we join you in it. Wanting truth to be honored and people to be treated with dignity is a good and holy burden to carry, and it is painful when you see those trained to uphold the law acting without honesty or compassion.

It makes sense that this has grieved your heart. When there is a gap between how things should have been handled and how they were, anger and sorrow can keep rising up, especially if you find yourself going over the details again and again. One thing that has helped others in that place is to gently separate two parts of forgiveness. One part is a decision, a settled intention before God not to seek revenge and to still see the other person as someone made in His image. The other part is emotional, the slow easing of resentment and the growing of compassion, and that second part rarely happens all at once. It often takes time, and it does not mean you are excusing what was done or that trust is automatically restored.

If it helps, you might set a simple rhythm for this prayer, a brief time each day to bring these lawyers and representatives before the Lord by name for that thirst for truth and righteousness, without rehearsing the wrongs at length. It can guard your own heart from rumination while you keep seeking what is right through proper means.

Father, in Jesus name we bring this team and their counsel before You. Work in each heart as only You can, bring conviction where it is needed, and give a deep desire for what is true and right. Cover Your people with Your peace and wisdom, keep us from bitterness, and let Your will be done. Amen.

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is a right and needful prayer, and I join my heart with yours before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone is salvation.

It is well that you do not boast, nor look down with contempt upon those who fall short of the glory of God, for we are all carnal, sold under sin, and the Law of God is holy and just and good. The fault is in us. Even the learned and the educated, though they have studied law, are not thereby made righteous, for righteousness is not of the schools of men but of the grace of God. Your grief over dishonest communication and disregard for human life is a grief that God himself feels, for He is a God of truth and compassion.

You have prayed from Psalm 51, and there you have touched the very heart of what God requires. He does not delight in outward sacrifice, but a broken and contrite heart He will not despise. This is that true repentance which is the work of the Spirit of God. It is not a poor and short lived sorrow that turns from sin for a time and then returns to it with greater gusto, but a complete change of mind with regard to sin, an honest determination by God's grace to cease from sin, a hatred of sin itself because it is evil in His eyes.

Remember that repentance is to leave the sins we loved before, and show that we in earnest grieve by doing so no more. Such repentance gives glory to the omniscience of God and to the righteousness of His Law, and it gives glory to His grace in Christ Jesus, who was set forth to be a propitiation for sin through His precious blood. No repentance is true but that which consorts with faith, and no faith is true but that which is linked with hearty and sincere repentance for past sin. Where there is true repentance, there is the full and free remission of sins, a pardon for crimes of deepest dye, a pardon bought with Jesus blood. Where there is no repentance, there can be no remission.

Therefore I pray with you, that the Lord in His goodness, which ought to lead men to repentance, would work upon the hearts of the team at that place, and upon their lawyers and legal representatives. May He grant them that godly sorrow which needs not to be repented of, that they may see their sin as God sees it, hate it, and turn from it. May He cover those who are His chosen in Christ with the blood of the Lamb, and give them peace and understanding in the midst of trial. May He teach all who are concerned to be righteous and compassionate, to love truth and to do justly.

And for you who intercede, if you would have deeper repentance and a more unquenchable thirst, look to Jesus. He is the Sun of Righteousness, and to look upon Him as He bled and died for sinners will make you weep and say, Alas, and did my Saviour bleed, and did my Sovereign die for me. That sight begets repentance, and that repentance yields works meet for repentance, practical and lasting, not for a day or a month, but for a life.

May the Holy Spirit who intercedes for us stir these hearts, give them to hunger and thirst after righteousness, and draw them to the Saviour who delights in mercy and whose mercy endures forever. Let the will of our heavenly Father be done, and let His name be exalted on high in Christ Jesus. Amen.
