Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

The Heart-a Den of Evil
The human heart is the source of all sin, and only God’s grace can cleanse and renew it.
Reasons for Parting with Sin
Parting with sin is necessary for peace with God, and He offers full forgiveness to those who turn from it.
The Strong One Driven Out by a Stronger One
Christ defeats Satan in the heart and claims it forever for His own glory.
We join you in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness, and we stand with you in Jesus name as you intercede for the team at the organization you mentioned, their lawyers and legal representatives.

We are moved by your heart that does not seek to boast or to look down on others, but humbly acknowledges that education and knowledge of the law does not make anyone righteous before God. For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God, Romans 3:23, and there is none righteous, no, not one, Romans 3:10. Even those who are learned in the law can be bound by lies when the heart is not surrendered to Christ, for Satan is a liar and the father of lies, John 8:44, and he blinds the minds of the unbelieving, 2 Corinthians 4:4.

You have prayed rightly that the truth shall set them free, and we remember the words of our Lord, You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free, John 8:32. True freedom does not come from winning a legal case or from human wisdom, but from knowing Jesus Christ who said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6. We also rejoice that you prayed in Jesus name, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12, and it is only through His precious blood that we have redemption and forgiveness of sins, Ephesians 1:7.

We echo your prayer from Psalm 51:16-17, For you do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it. You have no pleasure in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. This is what we ask God to work in the hearts of those you are praying for, not mere outward compliance but inward transformation. We pray that God will give them a new heart and put a new spirit within them and take away the stony heart out of their flesh, Ezekiel 36:26, so that they may hate sin and turn from what is evil in His eyes. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, 1 John 1:9.

We also hear your grief over the disregard for human life and honest communication. God grieves over such things as well, for He desires truth in the inward parts, Psalm 51:6, and He commands that we speak truth each one with his neighbor, Ephesians 4:25, and that we do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God, Micah 6:8. We are called to pray for all men, for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence, for this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth, 1 Timothy 2:1-4.

We pray together now.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We thank You for Your holiness and for Your Holy Spirit who intercedes for us with groanings which cannot be uttered, Romans 8:26. Lord, we lift up this team, their lawyers and legal representatives before You. Where they are bound by Satan's lies, shine Your light and make Your truth known. Where they have engaged in sin, grant them godly sorrow that leads to repentance, 2 Corinthians 7:10. Create in them clean hearts, O God, and renew steadfast spirits within them, Psalm 51:10. Cover those who are Yours with the blood of Jesus, grant them peace that surpasses all understanding, Philippians 4:7, and give them understanding and wisdom to walk righteously and compassionately. Forgive sins, Lord, as only You can, and stir within all involved an unquenchable hunger and thirst for righteousness, for You have promised, Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled, Matthew 5:6. Teach them not to be conformed to this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of their minds, Romans 12:2, so that they may discern what is good and acceptable and perfect in Your sight. Let Your will be done, Father, and let Your name be exalted on high through Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.

We encourage you to continue steadfast in this intercession, not growing weary in doing good, Galatians 6:9, and to trust that God is both just and merciful. He will judge righteously, and He also desires mercy over judgment, James 2:13. Continue to pray that they would not merely avoid doing evil, but that they would actively pursue what is true, honest and life honoring, and that any Christian among them would be strengthened to be salt and light in that place, Matthew 5:13-14.

Thank you for pouring out your heart for truth and righteousness in this situation. We can hear how deeply it grieves you to see honesty disregarded and lives treated lightly, and how sincerely you want God to work in the hearts of this team and their lawyers rather than simply to condemn them. That humility you expressed, not wanting to boast or look down on others while still longing for what is right, is a good place to remain before the Lord.

We join you in asking God to stir that unquenchable thirst you described, the kind that moves beyond momentary regret to a real turning of the heart and life toward Him. Only He can soften hearts to see wrong clearly and to desire what is good and compassionate. As you continue to intercede, it may help to give that prayer a simple rhythm, bringing these people before the Lord at a set time and then entrusting them to Him, so the burden stays as prayer and does not harden into discouragement. Staying rooted in worship and fellowship will help keep your own heart tender and at peace while you wait on Him. The Holy Spirit is indeed interceding with you, even when words feel heavy.

Father, we lift this team and their lawyers to You in Jesus name. Work gently in their hearts, open their eyes to truth, and draw those who are Yours into deeper peace and understanding. Teach us all to love righteousness and to walk with compassion. Let Your will be done, and keep our brother steady in Your grace as he keeps praying. Amen.

We have heard your prayer and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace, asking the Lord to work that which you have asked, an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

There is much wisdom in what you have prayed. You have not asked for a light or superficial sorrow, but for a broken spirit and a contrite heart, which the Psalmist tells us God will not despise. That is the right prayer, for true repentance is not skin deep. It does not merely affect the surface of a man and pass away in a night. The repentance which God accepts goes to the heart, it gives God glory, it makes a man loathe sin because it is hateful to Christ, and it sets the sinner ever afterwards craving after holiness. This is repentance unto life, and it is the sure token of pardon, not a preparation for grace but the first result of grace working within the soul.

You have prayed rightly that the Lord would work upon their hearts, for we cannot draw repentance from the depths of our own nature as water from a well. It is the gift of God, to be preached and sought in the name of Jesus Christ. Law and terrors do but harden, all the while they work alone. It is a sense of blood bought pardon that dissolves the heart of stone. The Holy Spirit, by enlightening the understanding and influencing the affections, must produce that new heart which hates sin and turns from it. And where there is such a turning, there is faith also, for repentance and faith are inseparable. The repentance which ejects sin as an evil tenant is the same work by which faith admits Christ to be the sole Master of the heart.

We do not wonder that you grieve over disregard for human life and honest communication, nor that you note that education and knowledge of the law cannot make a man righteous. A learned mind may still be bound by Satan's lies, and only Christ can make free, for He is the center and King of all truth, the Sun of Righteousness. We therefore pray with you that those of whom you speak, the team at that place and their lawyers and representatives, may be brought to see their need of a Saviour, that they may look out of self to Christ and to Christ only, and find in Him both repentance and remission of sins. We ask not that God would bless any evil way, but that He would forgive sin through the precious blood of Christ, cover those who are His, and grant peace and understanding according to His mercy.

Continue, then, in relentless prayer. The Lord Jesus lives to give repentance and to make intercession for transgressors, and His goodness is meant to lead men to repentance. Ask Him to take away all frivolity and trifling with spiritual things, to make the heart serious and solemn and in earnest before Him, to grant a practical repentance that yields works meet for repentance and that lasts. May He who delights in mercy grant to many a broken and contrite heart, and may He satisfy that thirst for righteousness which He Himself creates, for He has promised to fill those who hunger and thirst after it.

We commend you and those for whom you pray to Him who is able to change the heart and make all things new. Let His will be done, and let His name be exalted on high in Christ Jesus. Amen.

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is heard, and we join you in lifting it to the Father in the name of Jesus Christ.

Scripture says blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. Christ Himself cried out, If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink, and He promised that to the one who believes in Him and drinks of the living water He gives, it shall become within him a well springing up to everlasting life. This is the thirst we pray for, not a passing interest but the eager desire of a thirsty man for water, who drinks deeply and will not be satisfied until he has received what God gives. Such a longing is a gift of God, and we ask Him to kindle it and sustain it in you and in those for whom you pray.

We pray with you for the team at that place and for their lawyers and legal representatives. We do not pray that God would overlook sin, but that He would grant what only He can give, a broken and contrite heart which He will not despise. God does not delight in outward forms alone, but in a heart humbled before Him, ready to be corrected, quiet under reproof, not eager for vengeance but eager for truth. We ask that He would work in their hearts to convict them of sin, to bring them to hate sin and to turn from it, and to clothe them with righteousness as with a breastplate. True righteousness is not mere knowledge of the law or skill in argument, but holiness of truth, a life of universal virtue that comes from being made new in Christ.

We pray also as you have asked for those who are chosen and are in Christ, that the precious blood of Jesus would cover them and keep them, and that God would grant them peace and understanding and compassion even in the midst of this grievous conflict. Our struggle is not only against what is seen, but against spiritual wickedness, and we need sobriety, prayer, humility and watchfulness to stand firm.

Above all we pray for salvation, for there is no other name by which we must be saved. We ask that all who are bound by lies would hear the truth that sets free, which is Christ Himself, and would confess with the mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in the heart that God raised Him from the dead. In that short word of faith is both salvation and righteousness.

We thank God for His holiness and for His Holy Spirit who intercedes for us. We will continue to pray with you that God would stir hearts, teach righteousness, grant repentance that leads to life, and cause many to thirst for Him and for His truth until they are filled. Let His will be done, and to Jesus Christ be glory forever. Amen.
