Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

Who are Elected?
We join you in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness and we agree with the burden the Lord has placed on your heart.

We are encouraged by your humility in acknowledging that education and position do not make anyone righteous before God, for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God in Romans 3:23. Even those trained in the law can fall into horrible sins when the heart is not submitted to Christ, and your prayer reflects a godly sorrow not boasting and not looking down on others but desiring their repentance and restoration.

You have prayed rightly that the truth shall set them free, and Jesus Himself said in John 8:32 You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free, and in John 14:6 Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. It is only through Jesus that those bound by Satan's lies can be delivered, and it is right that you have come to the Father in Jesus name.

We are moved by your reference to Psalm 51:16-17 For you do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it. You have no pleasure in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. This is the heart God desires, not outward religious acts but inward brokenness and repentance. We also remember what the Lord said through Samuel in 1 Samuel 15:22 Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams.

We stand with you in praying for the team and their lawyers and legal representatives you mentioned who are bound in deception and who have disregarded human life and honest communication. We pray that God who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth in 1 Timothy 2:4 would open their eyes and grant them repentance.

We pray together now. Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We thank You for Your holiness and for Your Holy Spirit who helps us in our weakness and intercedes for us with groanings which cannot be uttered in Romans 8:26. Lord, we lift up every person in that organization and their legal counsel to You. Where there are lies, bring Your truth. Where there is hardness, give a new heart as You promised in Ezekiel 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you. Take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. Stir their hearts Lord and give them an unquenchable thirst for righteousness, for Jesus said in Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. Cover and keep those who are Your chosen and who walk with You, give them Your peace which surpasses all understanding and teach them to be righteous and compassionate as You are. For those who have sinned, we ask for Your mercy and forgiveness, for if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness in 1 John 1:9. Let them hate their sin and turn from it and not continue in a sinful life, and let them do nothing that is evil in Your eyes. Let Your will be done and let Your name be exalted on high, in Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue fervently and relentlessly, for the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much in James 5:16. Keep praying with a broken and contrite spirit, not growing weary, trusting that God is faithful to convict, to teach, and in His perfect time to bring forth truth and righteousness for His glory.

We hear the weight you are carrying in this prayer, and we join you in asking God for a real thirst for truth and righteousness to grow where there has been dishonesty and disregard for life.

It matters that you are praying this way, not from a place of looking down on others, but with humility and grief. It is painful to watch people who are educated and entrusted with the law use that trust in ways that harm others. Your sorrow over that is understandable, and God sees it.

Your prayer for broken and contrite hearts gets to the heart of what real change is. Feeling sorry for a moment is not the same as turning in a new direction. What you are asking for is that God would work deeply so that sin is not just regretted but truly turned from, and that truth and compassion would take its place. Only He can do that work in a heart, and He is the one who brings peace and understanding to those who belong to Him even in the middle of difficult dealings.

One thing that can help when you are carrying a heavy, ongoing burden like this is to give your prayer a steady place. You might set aside a brief, regular time to bring these same people and this same request before the Lord, and then intentionally entrust the outcome and the timing to Him for the rest of the day, so bitterness does not take root while you wait.

Father, we bring this team and their lawyers before You in Jesus' name. Work in their hearts to love truth and to turn from what is evil in Your eyes. Cover Your people involved with Your peace and wisdom, teach us all to walk in righteousness and compassion, and let Your will be done. Amen.

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is a right and holy petition, and we join our hearts with yours in it before the throne of grace.

You have prayed according to the mind of God, for it is His goodness that leads men to repentance, and it is His will that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in the name of Christ. Where there is true sorrow for sin, where there is a complete change of mind with regard to sin, that repentance has been produced by the Spirit of God and it is as much a gift of His grace as pardon itself. We therefore do not merely pray that outward conduct may be restrained, but that the heart itself may be wrought upon by the Holy Spirit.

You have well quoted the Psalmist, for the sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart which He will not despise. True repentance gives glory to the omniscience of God and to the righteousness of His law. The truly penitent does not quarrel with the law, but says, Thy law is holy and just and good, the fault is with me, for I am carnal, sold under sin. Such a one hates the sin he once loved and leaves the sins he loved before, and shows that he in earnest grieves by doing so no more. This is not a poor and short lived repentance which turns away for a time and then goes back with greater gusto, but a practical repentance which yields works meet for repentance and which lasts, because it is rooted in the love of God who gave Himself for us.

We will pray with you that the Lord Jesus, who is set forth to be a propitiation for sin, may be revealed to this team and to their lawyers and legal representatives. As you have said, education and knowledge of the law cannot make the heart righteous, for all have fallen short of the glory of God. Only the precious blood of Christ can cover sin and give peace and understanding. We pray that they may be led to see that Christ was nailed to the cross for sin, and that leaping for joy at that great provision is the very soul of repentance after a godly sort, a repentance that needs not to be repented of.

Remember that faith and repentance are inseparable. No faith can be genuine but such as is perfectly consistent with repentance for past sin, and no repentance is true but that which consorts with faith in the Lord Jesus. We pray therefore not only for conviction but for faith, that they may look to Jesus and find in Him pardon for crimes of deepest dye, a pardon bought with Jesus blood, full and free for all who truly trust Him. There is no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus.

Let us continue in relentless prayer, as you have asked, that the Lord would stir their hearts, that He would spare them in His longsuffering goodness not to harden them but to lead them to repentance, that He would grant them that godly sorrow for pardoned sin which is sweet company to the soul, and that He would teach them to love righteousness and to hunger and thirst after it. For blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. And the truth which is in Jesus indeed sets free when it is received with a new heart.

We lay this petition before our Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ our only Saviour, asking that His will be done and that His name be exalted, and that all who seek Him may find that His mercy endureth forever. Amen.
