Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join with you in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness, and we are encouraged by your humble and compassionate heart toward those who have wronged you. You have prayed as Scripture commands us to pray, to love our enemies and to intercede for those who may be bound in deceit.

We echo your cry that the truth would set them free, for Jesus said, You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free John 8:32, and He Himself is the way, the truth, and the life John 14:6. Apart from Him there is no true righteousness and no lasting freedom from Satan's lies. We agree with you that education and position, even in the law, does not make a person righteous before God, for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God Rom 3:23, and there is none righteous, no, not one Rom 3:10.

We are blessed by your remembrance of Psalm 51:17, The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. That is the very heart God desires, not outward boasting or religious performance. We pray with you that God would grant to that team and to their lawyers and legal representatives what only He can give, a new heart and a new spirit, as it is written, I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you Ezek 36:26. Only the Holy Spirit can convict of sin and stir a true hatred for sin and a hunger for what is right.

We also remember the promise, Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled Matt 5:6. We ask God to create that holy hunger in them, and in us as well.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our only mediator and Savior, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. We lift up to You the team and the lawyers and legal representatives mentioned in this request. Lord, You see where lies have been spoken and where human life and honest communication have been disregarded, and it grieves Your heart even more than it grieves ours. We ask that You would have mercy on them and forgive them, and grant them repentance that leads to life. Break their hearts, Father, where they are hardened, and give them broken and contrite hearts that turn from evil and seek Your face. Cover Your chosen ones and all who belong to Christ with the precious blood of Jesus, and grant them Your peace which surpasses all understanding Phil 4:7 and Your wisdom and understanding in this difficult situation.

Father, teach them and teach us to be righteous and compassionate, to love what You love and to hate what is evil Rom 12:9. Let Your Holy Spirit intercede and work powerfully to give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness, that they would no longer walk in darkness but would come into Your light and be saved. We pray this for their salvation above all else, for You desire all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth 1 Tim 2:4. We choose to obey Your command to love our enemies, bless those who curse us, and pray for those who mistreat us Matt 5:44, and we refuse to be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good Rom 12:21.

Let Your will be done in this legal matter and in every heart involved. We trust Your perfect justice and Your perfect mercy. We exalt the name of Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray, amen.

We hear the burden behind your prayer and thank you for bringing it to the Lord so honestly. You are grieved by dishonesty and a disregard for life, and instead of holding onto contempt you are asking God to work in hearts, including your own, to love truth and do what is right. That kind of intercession honors Him.

When we see wrong that has not been made right, it can leave a gap between how we long for things to be and how they are. That gap often stirs anger or sorrow that can linger if we replay it over and over. It can help to remember there is a difference between a settled decision before God to let go of revenge and to still see others as people He loves, and the slower, quieter work of the heart finding real peace. The first is a choice we can make in prayer, the second usually takes time as God softens us.

A steady next step as you keep praying for this team and their lawyers is to notice when that grief turns to resentment in your own heart and simply name it to God in the moment, entrusting justice to Him. That keeps your thirst for righteousness clear and rooted in compassion rather than bitterness.

Father, we lift this team and these lawyers to You and ask that You would draw them to truth and to a real hatred of what is evil. Work in their hearts to recognize sin and to turn from it. Cover those who are Yours with Your peace and understanding, and form in all of us a deeper love for what is right. Let Your will be done, in Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer has been heard and we join with you in it before the throne of grace, asking the Lord to work that which man cannot work for himself.

You have rightly laid your finger upon the true need, for you quote the Psalmist well, The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. This is not a light sorrow nor a passing regret. Frivolity and trifling have gone from the man who has such a heart. He is serious and solemn and in earnest before God, and that brokenness is itself the gift of God and not the product of unaided nature.

We must pray then as those who understand that repentance is not a preparation for grace but the first result of grace working within the soul. We are not to seek to draw up repentance from the depths of our own heart as water from a well, but to ask Christ to work repentance in us by His Holy Spirit through belief of the truth. Jesus Christ lives to give repentance and remission of sins, and where there is real repentance it is the sure and infallible token of pardon, for the Lord is near unto them that are of a broken heart and saves such as are of a contrite spirit.

Take care to distinguish that which is true from that which is false. Judgment and terror may produce a carnal repentance, a repentance that is of the flesh and after the manner of the sinful nature. It springs from fear, comes up in a night and withers in a night, and it is superficial, hardly more than skin deep. It does not go to the heart and it does not give God glory. True repentance, that repentance unto life which is the work of the Spirit of God, gives God glory by loathing sin because sin is hateful to the heart of Jesus, and by setting the sinner ever afterwards craving after holiness. It yields works meet for repentance and it lasts, for it is a continual lifelong act which grows as grace enlightens the understanding and influences the affections.

Therefore we pray with you not that these souls, whether learned in the law or not, should merely be frightened or shamed, for law and terrors do but harden all the while they work alone. It is a sense of blood bought pardon that dissolves the heart of stone. We pray that the goodness of God may lead them to repentance, that they may see their sin as God sees it and hate it enough to turn from it, and that they may look out of self to Christ and to Christ only. For any repentance that keeps a sinner from believing in Christ is a repentance that needs to be repented of. Repentance and faith are inseparable, the one purges the soul from dead works and the other fills it with living works, the one pulls down and the other builds up upon the foundation of Christ alone, through whom alone salvation is found.

So we ask the Lord to stir these hearts for whom you intercede, that He would take away the heart of stone and give a heart of flesh, a sensitive conscience and an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness. May the Sun of Righteousness arise upon them with healing in His beams, that they may love truth, speak truth, and hunger and thirst after that righteousness which Christ came to spread and to establish to the glory of God. May the Holy Spirit who now intercedes for the saints work this deep and abiding change, that they may no longer disregard what God honors, but may walk humbly and compassionately before Him.

We thank God for your burden and for the Holy Spirit who helps our infirmities in prayer. We will continue to plead that the Lord will grant to these souls that broken and contrite heart which He will not despise, and that with it He will give faith to rest alone upon the precious blood of Jesus for the forgiveness of sins and for peace and understanding. Let us look to Christ to do it, for He is able and He delights in mercy, and His mercy endures forever. Amen.
