Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness, and we are grateful for your heart that seeks God's will and not personal vengeance. We hear your grief over dishonesty and the disregard for human life and honest communication, and we stand with you in asking the Lord to work deeply in the hearts of the team you mentioned, their lawyers and legal representatives, and all who are involved.

You are right to anchor this prayer in the truth that sets us free. Jesus said in John 8:32, You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free. And Jesus Himself is that truth, for He said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Apart from Him, minds remain blinded, as it is written in 2 Corinthians 4:4, the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving. That is why your prayer that those bound by Satan's lies would be saved is so needed and so aligned with God's heart, who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth in 1 Timothy 2:4.

We also rejoice that you have come to the Father in Jesus' name, for it is only by that name we have access to God and hope of salvation. As it is written in Acts 4:12, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We also thank you for praying the precious blood of Christ over those who are chosen and belong to Him, that they would have peace and understanding. We are reminded in 1 John 1:7, if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

Your humility is pleasing to the Lord. You do not boast and you do not look down on those who fall short, and yet you rightly discern what Scripture teaches, that education and position do not make a person righteous. As it is written in Romans 3:23, all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God, and in 1 Corinthians 1:27, God chose the foolish things of the world that he might put to shame those who are wise. Even those trained in law can engage in horrible sins when the heart is not surrendered to Christ, for the heart is deceitful above all things in Jeremiah 17:9, and only God can transform it.

You quoted Psalm 51:16-17 so beautifully, For you do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it. You have no pleasure in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. We agree with you that what is needed is not outward performance but inward brokenness and repentance. We pray with you that God would grant that. It is a gift when we come to hate our sin and turn from it, for in 1 John 1:9, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. And in Ezekiel 36:26, God promises, I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you.

We also lift up your own heart, that the Lord would guard you from discouragement and bitterness as you wait and pray relentlessly. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled in Matthew 5:6. The Lord sees your thirst and He will honor persistent prayer. We are comforted that the Holy Spirit Himself is interceding, as it says in Romans 8:26, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we do not know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

So we pray together now.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We ask that Your will be done in this situation as it is in heaven. Lord, pour out Your mercy and convict the hearts of this team, their lawyers and legal representatives. Remove the veil of lies and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness. Grant them a broken and contrite heart that they may recognize their sins, confess them, and turn from what is evil in Your eyes. Forgive them through the blood of Jesus where there is repentance, and teach them to be righteous and compassionate, to love truth and to honor human life and honest communication. Cover Your people who are caught in this trial with Your peace that surpasses all understanding in Philippians 4:7, and give them wisdom and understanding. Holy Spirit, continue to intercede for us and for them, and stir all hearts to seek You while You may be found. We exalt the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope, and we trust Your perfect justice and Your perfect mercy. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue steadfast in prayer and in the Word, trusting that God is both just and merciful, and that He is at work even when we cannot see it. As it says in Galatians 6:9, Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we do not give up.

We appreciate you bringing this burden so plainly before the Lord. Wanting those at ### and their legal team to know truth and to love what is right is a good and loving prayer, especially when you have seen how easily knowledge and education can still leave a heart unchanged. That grief you named over dishonesty and disregard for life is understandable, and bringing it to Jesus instead of holding it alone or growing bitter is wise.

We are reminded that lasting change is not something we can argue or educate into a person. It is God working in the heart that creates a real thirst for what is true and right, and a willingness to turn from what is wrong. Your prayer for broken and humble hearts points right there, and God hears that kind of intercession.

It may help to keep praying as specifically as you already are, by name when you know them, and to keep your own heart anchored by staying close to the Lord yourself as you wait. We are joining you in that.

Father, in Jesus name we bring this team and these lawyers before You. Work in their hearts as only You can, give them a true hunger for truth and righteousness, and cover those who are Yours with Your peace. Guide this whole situation according to Your will and keep our friend faithful as he prays. Amen.

We join with you in this prayer and thank God that He has laid upon your heart such a thirst for truth and righteousness. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled, and that hunger itself is no work of nature but a gift of grace. When the soul truly longs for what is holy and true, it is because the Spirit of God has been at work within it.

Your prayer touches the very heart of what true repentance must be. The Psalmist has taught us that the sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. It is not learning, nor place, nor profession that can make a man righteous, for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Whether he be a lawyer or a beggar, his need is the same. True repentance gives glory to the righteousness of God and says, Thy law is holy and just and good, the fault is with me, for I am carnal, sold under sin. It is not a passing sorrow that turns from sin for a time and then returns to it again, but a real change of mind wrought by the Spirit of God, a hatred of the sin itself and a turning from it because of love to Him who died for us.

Repentance and faith are inseparable. No repentance is true but that which consorts with faith, and no faith is true but that which is linked with hearty and sincere repentance on account of past sin. To leave the sins we loved before and to show that we in earnest grieve by doing so no more, this is repentance after a godly sort. It looks to Jesus, who was set forth to be a propitiation for sin through faith in His blood. There is pardon there, and there alone, pardon for crimes of deepest dye, a pardon bought with Jesus blood, and for all who truly trust Him there is no condemnation.

We pray with you therefore that the Lord in His goodness would lead these souls to repentance. It is His goodness that spares and forbears, to give space for turning unto Him. May He work upon their hearts to make them know their sin, to hate it, and to forsake it, to love truth and to speak it, to regard human life as precious in His sight and to deal justly and compassionately. We ask that the precious blood of Christ may cover all who are His, and give peace and understanding, and that those who are yet bound by the lies of the adversary may hear the truth that sets free, even the gospel that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.

We exhort you to continue steadfast in prayer, looking to Jesus as you pray. Ask the Lord to deepen your own thirst for righteousness, for He delights to give more grace to those who seek it. He who has begun a good work will carry it on, and sweet sister repentance shall be your companion even as you rejoice in pardoned sin at the feet of the Saviour.

May the Lord hear your cry, grant true repentance where it is needed, and satisfy your heart with His righteousness for Christ sake. Amen.
