Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness, and we are encouraged by the burden the Lord has placed on your heart to intercede even for those who oppose you.

You have prayed according to the heart of God, who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth as in 1 Timothy 2:4, and who commands us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us as in Matthew 5:44. It is right to pray that those who are bound by lies would be set free, for Jesus said in John 8:32 you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free, and He Himself declared in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Apart from Christ there is no true truth or righteousness.

We also affirm your humility in acknowledging that education and legal knowledge do not make a person righteous. Scripture reminds us in Romans 3:23 for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God, and in 1 Corinthians 1:27 God chose the foolish things of the world that he might put to shame those who are wise. Only the Holy Spirit can give a new heart, as promised in Ezekiel 36:26 I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. We cannot expect righteousness from human wisdom, only from being born again through Jesus.

We are moved by your reference to Psalm 51:16-17 For you do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it. You have no pleasure in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. This is exactly what we should pray for, that God would grant them a broken and contrite heart that hates sin and turns from it, not merely worldly sorrow but godly sorrow that leads to repentance.

We stand with you and pray together.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, and we thank You that we have access to You only through His precious blood. We lift up the team and their lawyers and legal representatives before You. Lord, You see where lies, deception, and disregard for human life and honest communication have taken hold. We ask that You expose the lies of the enemy and shine Your light of truth upon them. Give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and for righteousness, for You have said in Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled.

Father, work on their hearts. Break through hardness and pride. Grant them repentance and faith in Jesus Christ that they may be saved, forgiven, and washed by the blood of the Lamb. For those among them who are already Yours, we ask Your covering, Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and Your wisdom to walk in compassion and righteousness even under pressure. Teach us all to be righteous and compassionate as You are.

Lord, forgive sins as only You can, and by Your Holy Spirit cause them to recognize their sin, to hate it, and to turn from doing what is evil in Your sight. Let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We thank You, Holy Spirit, that You intercede for us with groanings that cannot be uttered according to Romans 8:26. We exalt the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved as in Acts 4:12. Let Your name be glorified and Your justice and mercy prevail.

We encourage you to continue in this faithful intercession without ceasing as in 1 Thessalonians 5:17. God is able to stir hearts that seem hardened, and He delights in answering prayers for truth and righteousness. We will continue to contend with you in prayer that the Lord would bring conviction, salvation, and a true hunger for His ways.

We hear the weight you are carrying in this prayer, and we are grateful you brought it to the Lord so honestly. Wanting to see people who hold influence choose truth over deception is a holy burden, and it makes sense that it would grieve you to watch that disregard for human life and honest communication.

Your humility stands out, that you do not want to look down on others but simply long for God to work in their hearts. That posture helps keep intercession from turning into constant rumination. One thing that has helped others who carry a long prayer like this is to give it a settled place rather than carrying it all day. Setting aside a brief, regular time to lift these lawyers and representatives by name before the Lord, and then consciously leaving them in His hands for the rest of the day, can keep your own heart more peaceful and your prayer more steady over time.

We are joining you in asking God to do what only He can do in them and in all of us, to soften hearts and draw us toward what is true and right.

Father, in Jesus name we bring this team and their counsel before You. You see each heart and every choice. We ask You to gently stir in them a hunger for truth and a willingness to turn from what is wrong, and to cover Your people with peace and understanding as they wait on You. Shape us all to love righteousness and to show compassion. Let Your will be done, amen.

This burden you have laid before the Lord is itself an evidence of grace at work, for to hunger and thirst after righteousness is a hunger that God Himself creates, and to mourn over sin in others as well as in ourselves is the work of His Spirit.

You have prayed well, and according to the Scripture, when you ask that these souls may be brought to a broken and contrite heart. As it is written, the sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. We cannot expect that education or knowledge of the law will make a man righteous, for the heart must be changed by sovereign grace. The goodness of God is meant to lead men to repentance, yet many despise that goodness and treasure up wrath. Your prayer that the Lord would stir their hearts and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth is a prayer that He delights to answer.

Remember what true repentance is, lest we be content with a poor and short lived sorrow which turns away for a time and then returns with greater gusto to the sin it seemed to leave. True repentance, which is the gift of the Spirit of God, gives glory to God. It gives glory to His omniscience, confessing that He has seen all, and to His righteousness, saying with the penitent, Thy law is holy and just and good, the fault is with me, for I am carnal, sold under sin. It is not a mere regret that fears punishment, but a holy hatred of sin itself, a turning from it because we see how it pierced our Saviour.

As the children's hymn well says, repentance is to leave the sins we loved before, and show that we in earnest grieve, by doing so no more. No repentance is true but that which consorts with faith, and no faith is true but that which is linked with hearty repentance for past sin. Any repentance that keeps a soul from believing in Christ is a repentance that needs to be repented of. We must look to Jesus, who was set forth to be a propitiation for sin through faith in His blood. There is pardon there, and it is a pardon bought with Jesus blood, full and free for the most horrible and oft repeated offenses, for all who truly repent and believe.

Let us pray together then for this work in these lawyers and all of that company, and for ourselves, that we too may be kept low and tender before God.

O Lord our God, we come to Thee in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone sinners are saved. Thou seest these souls of whom we have made mention, bound in darkness and in need of Thy light. Work upon their hearts by Thy Holy Spirit, we beseech Thee. Convict them of sin and of righteousness and of judgment. Give them not a passing sorrow, but that godly sorrow which needeth not to be repented of. Break their hearts, that they may hate the sin they have loved, and turn from it with abhorrence, and give them faith to look to Jesus and to trust in His precious blood alone for cleansing. Cover those who are Thine with Thy peace and teach them to walk in compassion and truth. Make us all to thirst more deeply for Thy righteousness, and to find our satisfaction in Christ, the Sun of righteousness, in whom there is everlasting strength. Let Thy will be done, and let Thy name be glorified, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is good and pleasing to God, and it is right that you have brought it before Him in the name of Jesus.

Scripture says, blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, and the Lord Himself cried out, if any man thirst, let him come to me and drink. Those who come to the divine preaching must have the desire of thirsty men for water and kindle that longing in themselves. That thirst is not satisfied by constraint but by willing desire, by a heart that is inflamed to seek Christ Himself. It is right to ask God to stir such thirst in others, and to keep it alive in your own heart as well.

You have prayed well from Psalm 51, that God does not delight in outward sacrifice alone but in a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart which He will not despise. That contrition is not a momentary feeling. It is a heart that is ready to be low before God, quiet when insulted, not eager for vengeance, not boasting over others, but trembling at His word. You showed that humility when you said you do not wish to boast or to look down on those who fall short, but humbly acknowledge that all have sinned. God looks to the one who is meek and quiet and trembles at His words, and that lowliness is more than outward humility. It is being utterly broken before Him.

True righteousness and holiness are not found in education or in knowledge of the law alone. There was a righteousness of figure, an outward cleanness, but in Christ we are created anew in righteousness and holiness of truth. That new creation comes through faith. The way of salvation is short and near, for if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. That short word carries both salvation and righteousness, and there is no other name by which we are saved.

So we join you in praying for the team you named, and for their lawyers and representatives, that God would have mercy on them and bring them to repentance. We do not ask God to affirm or bless what is evil in His eyes, but we ask Him to work on their hearts as you have prayed, to give them godly sorrow which works repentance unto salvation and brings no regret, to show them their sin so that they hate it and turn from it, and to teach them to love truth and to act with compassion and honesty and regard for human life. We pray that the precious blood of Christ would cover all who turn to Him in faith, and that He would give peace and understanding to those who are His.

God has marked out many ways for us to seek His mercy when we are willing, through prayer offered sincerely, through compunction and repentance, through humility and a contrite heart, through giving thanks in all things, through fasting according to our strength, through mercy to others and forgiving those who have offended us. Continue in these things. Keep praying sincerely, keep a sober and watchful heart, and leave vengeance to God. Even affliction, when borne patiently, can become an occasion for comfort and salvation, both for ourselves and for others.

May the Lord keep your own heart thirsting for Him, and may He grant to those for whom you pray that same thirst, that they may come to Christ and drink, and that out of them may flow rivers of living water according to His promise. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom be glory forever. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
