Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness and we stand with you in Jesus name before the Father.

We are encouraged by your humility in acknowledging that education and status do not make a person righteous, for it is written that all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God Romans 3:23 and that we are to judge not with partiality but with righteous judgment. Your prayer reflects the heart God desires, not a boastful spirit but a broken and contrite one. As you quoted, The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, God, you will not despise Psalm 51:17 and For you don’t delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it. You have no pleasure in burnt offering Psalm 51:16. We agree that only God can work on the heart to bring conviction and repentance.

We lift up together the team you mentioned, their lawyers and legal representatives. We pray that the Lord would open their eyes, for Satan blinds the minds of the unbelieving, but God commands light to shine in darkness. We pray that God may grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, and they may recover themselves out of the devil’s snare, having been taken captive by him to do his will 2 Timothy 2:25-26. Jesus said, You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free John 8:32 and He is the way, the truth, and the life John 14:6. There is no true truth or righteousness apart from Him.

We pray for those among them who are chosen and belong to Christ, that the blood of Jesus would cover them and keep them, for the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin 1 John 1:7 and that they would have peace and understanding which surpasses all understanding as they walk in compassion and integrity. We pray for those who are still bound by lies, that they would come to hate their sin and turn from it, that they would no longer do what is evil in His eyes but would hunger and thirst for righteousness.

We are blessed by your prayer that God would stir their hearts, for Jesus said Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled Matthew 5:6. We ask the Father to give them that holy hunger, to disregard no longer human life and honest communication, but to love truth in the inward parts and to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with God Micah 6:8.

We pray together now, Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we come before Your throne of grace. Lord, we ask You to work deeply on the hearts of these lawyers and representatives and all involved. Grant them a broken and contrite heart that they may recognize their sins, confess them, and turn from them. Forgive their sins through the precious blood of Jesus shed on the cross, and let them not continue in a sinful life. Cover Your people among them with Your peace and teach them to be righteous and compassionate as You are compassionate. Let Your Holy Spirit who intercedes for us with groanings which can’t be uttered Romans 8:26 convict them of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness that only You can satisfy. We thank You for Your holiness and Your mercy, and we exalt the name of Jesus Christ on high, for there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. Let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We trust Your perfect justice and Your perfect mercy, and we continue in prayer without ceasing. Amen.

We hear how much you want truth and righteousness to prevail, and how painful it is to watch people you hoped would act justly seem to disregard honesty and human dignity. It makes sense that this would grieve you, and it is good that you are turning that grief into prayer rather than holding it alone.

One thing we have found helpful when praying for those who have wronged us is remembering that forgiveness and wanting justice are not opposites. Choosing to release a desire for personal revenge and to treat the other person as someone still accountable before God is a decision we can make, even while the hurt feelings take longer to settle. The ache you described, the gap between how you wish things would be resolved and how they appear right now, is real, and God sees it. Turning the matter over to Him again and again can keep that ache from hardening into bitterness.

It may help to give your intercession a simple rhythm, a short time each day to lift this team and their representatives by name for a thirst for truth, and then to entrust them and the outcome to the Lord for the rest of the day.

Father, we lift this legal team and those around them to You. Work in their hearts to love truth and to act with compassion. Cover Your people involved with Your peace and understanding, and keep them close to You as they wait on Your will. In Jesus name, amen.

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is a prayer according to the mind of God, and we join our hearts with yours in it. It is right to ask that those who are bound by lies should be set free by the truth as it is in Jesus, for our Lord has said the truth shall set you free, and blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled.

You have well quoted that psalm which lays bare the heart of true repentance. The Lord does not delight in outward sacrifice, but a broken and contrite heart He will not despise. Such repentance gives glory to God. It gives glory to His omniscience, confessing that He sees all and knows all, and it gives glory to His righteousness, owning that His law is holy and just and good and that the fault lies in ourselves, for we are carnal, sold under sin. It also gives glory to His grace, leaping for joy at the thought that God has set forth Christ to be a propitiation for sin.

Take heed that we pray not for a poor and short lived sorrow which turns from sin for a time and then returns to it with greater gusto, but for that true repentance which is the work of the Spirit of God. As the children have been taught to say, repentance is to leave the sins we loved before and show that we in earnest grieve by doing so no more. No faith can be genuine but such as is consistent with repentance for past sin, and no repentance is true but that which consorts with faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Any repentance that keeps a soul from believing in Christ is a repentance that needs to be repented of. We must look to Jesus, for when we see that for us He shed His precious blood, that He was nailed to the cross for our sin, then godly sorrow flows most freely. It is not a bitter despair, but a sweet sorrow at the feet of Jesus, sorrow for pardoned sin, for that which was laid upon Christ and shall never condemn us.

Where there is real sorrow for sin, where there is an honest determination by God's grace to cease from sin, where there is a complete change of mind with regard to sin, that repentance has been produced by the Spirit of God and it is as much a gift of His grace as remission itself. Where there is no repentance there can be no remission, but where there is true repentance there is full and free forgiveness through the blood of Jesus, pardon for crimes of deepest dye, pardon bought with Jesus blood. And true repentance will yield works meet for repentance. It will be practical and it will last, not a sudden flush which soon fades, but a daily dying to sin and living unto righteousness.

Therefore we bow with you and pray. Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Thy Son, who alone is the way of salvation, we ask Thy mercy upon this team and upon their lawyers and legal representatives. Thou art good and Thy goodness should lead men to repentance. Work upon their hearts by Thy Holy Spirit. Give them a broken spirit and a contrite heart that they may recognise their sin, hate their sin, and turn from it. Take away disregard for human life and for honest communication, and plant within them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness. Cover with Thy precious blood those who are Thine, and grant peace and understanding to all who call upon Thee. Teach them to be righteous and compassionate, not boasting before Thee, but humbly confessing that all have fallen short of Thy glory and that salvation is only through faith in Christ crucified and risen. Let them see Thy law is just and Thy gospel is gracious, and bring them to that faith which is inseparable from repentance. We ask not that Thou wouldst bless any evil way, but that Thou wouldst save from it and lead into the path of life.

Continue steadfast in this relentless prayer. The Lord spares and waits that men may turn to Him. Ask for an increase of faith and of repentance, and He will give it, for to look to Jesus is to find both. May His will be done and His name exalted on high, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
